Customer service could not be any better. The staff were very attentive and willing to chat as I had difficulty deciding what to get. They allow you to sample the different protein options (steak, chicken, portobello, tofu) before deciding what you want to order. I liked the steak and portobello best. The fresh goat cheese on top went really well with the kale and wild rice base and the crunchy almonds on top were very fresh. Definitely recommend the goat cheese and almond for toppings. I really like this location, but its harder to get parking here because this area is so densely packed and Armature Works holds a lot of events. I will always highly recommend Sweetgreen over most salad places because their lettuce is way better in my opinion than what you get at some other restaurants. I've always been a fan of sweet greens and was excited to find one not too far from my home. First off they are located in a super cute neighborhood called the Heights. I hadn't had a sweet greens salad in a minute so I wasn't sure if they still had the same options that I've enjoyed in the past. I was really excited to learn that they did still have all of my favorites except red onion which I found very strange. Other than that, the salad was just as good as I remember. Very crisp lettuce/arugula/kale and all of the veggies that I added were very fresh. The salad dressings are still the same tasty bold flavors that I remember. I've been on a health tip for say 10 years now and my health freak self is so excited to have finally come to lunch at Sweetgreen for the first time ever. I got the Miso Bowl as is but you can make switches if your heart (and stomach) desires it. Next time I'll try this same bowl with perhaps a more tender green mix rather than kale though I did enjoy it as is. My favorite part about Sweetgreen is actually the fact they show you where they source their ingredients and if they're organic or not. Plot twist: most of them are organic so don't panic. I'd also like to mention that the portions were decent, flavor was on point, service was friendly and the space was phenomenally clean, lit with mostly natural light. I came here a few nights ago for the first time and really enjoyed it! I was very pleased with their vegan options. I built my own bowl and chose a medium which was a good size I would say, very filling. The tofu was excellent and I liked how many choices I had to add vegetables and toppings. As a Chicago native, I was very upset when I tried sweetgreen for the first time on Michigan Avenue only to find out there were none located in my new city of Tampa! December 2022 was the best month of my life when this changed! I could rave about everything on this menu, but my all time favorite entree is the Harvest Bowl. It comes with roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, roasted almonds, warm wild rice, shredded kale, and balsamic vinaigrette. My second favorite is the shrimp and arugula bowl. Every single bite is filled with healthy and yummy ingredients; it could not be any more perfect! The vibe is casual, and the service is quick. Tampa needs more healthy fast food places in the area like this! Parking can be a nightmare with the location next to Armature Works, but it's not terrible enough to stop me from going every week. read more

Sweetgreen is not even open yet and they are already my new obsession. I had the privilege of attending their soft opening this weekend and got the insider scoop. Despite being a franchise/chain, Sweetgreen sources lots of it's ingredients from Florida, many of which are organic. They offer salads, bowls, and plates starting at $9.95. You are welcome to build your meal from scratch, or pick one of their curated meals from the menu which you can then modify if you so choose. When you enter you are welcomed into a large space with a clean aesthetic and plenty of team members prepared to help you. Since it was an event, I was greeted at the door by Jeremy who signed me in and gave me a rundown of the restaurant and how ordering works. I asked him for his favorite menu items and was told I could not go wrong with the Buffalo Chicken bowl or the Hot Honey Chicken plate. I ended up going with the Hot Honey Chicken plate ($14.95) and the a chicken and Brussels bowl ($14.95). As part of the event, both items were complementary. The Hot Honey Chicken plate included blackened chicken, warm quinoa, kale-cabbage slaw, toasted almonds, hot roasted sweet potatoes, and a hot honey mustard dressing. The Chicken and Brussels bowl included spring mix, blackened chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts, apples, toasted almonds, and a cranberry maple vinaigrette. I was not in the mood for brussels sprouts, so I swapped them out for the mushroom medley. I also added chickpeas to both entrees, and a slice of whole wheat sourdough bread was included at the end. Both entrees and the bread were exceptional. The chicken plate was simultaneously crunchy and soft with different layers of spice from the chicken and the hot honey mustard. The bowl was fresh and filled to the brim. The picture may look like a lot of lettuce, however, by the time I was "done" with the salad my bowl still had chicken and apples leftover. I enjoyed these entrees for two separate meals and was very full- each entree was large and more than enough. Bread was not necessary as the portions were dense, but the bread is a must flavor-wise. It was chewy and had that classic sourdough bite. I really hope it comes included with every bowl and was not a special thing they did for the soft opening. I could easily go there and purchase a loaf of this bread and feel good about my actions. I told the friendly staff members that they would be seeing more of me, and I wholeheartedly meant it. Although it is not the most affordable place, the freshness, healthiness, and portions make it justifiable in my book. Absolutely love this place. Every salad I've gotten is delicious, and every bite tastes different. I love that you can build your own, get one on the menu, or chose a menu option then add more toppings. I also love how they ask you how much dressing you want. The line is usually short or moves fast. 4 stars because the drink options aren't good. We tried the Hibiscus Berry Clover Tea and the Jasmin Green Tea and they were absolutely vile. A good place for a healthy meal if you are in the area. I was excited that SG finally came to Tampa. I know there are plenty of places that offer healthy bowls, but you can never have enough healthy bowls, right? I was there early, so I was able to park in a free 15 minute spot (most local parking is paid only), walk in, be attended right away, pay and leave within 5 minutes. They have a set up like Chipotle or CAVA, so the line is the rate-limiting step. I was the only customer there, so it was very fast. I ordered the crispy rice bowl but substituted the spicy cashew dressing with the green goddess dressing. I got the bowl to go. I thought overall, the bowl was good. The dressing was heavy on the dill, but I like dill. I liked the contrast between the crispy rice, crunchy almonds, and the chewy wild rice and fresh arugula. There wasn't a ton of chicken, but the pieces were small enough that most bites felt meaty. I feel like the bowl was on the salty side, maybe from the blackening spices? I probably should have asked for less dressing (I ordered medium dressing when usually I'd go with light dressing). The price was about right for the setting. All in all, it was a convenient meal. It was full of veggies and whole grain. If I lived closer and didn't have to deal with the annoying parking in the area, I'd probably come here more often, but as it is, there are closer places to me with healthy bowls. read more

I should have taken a picture of my yummy chicken pesto salad with quinoa but I was ready to dig into it ! The meals are filling and good portion size and as you can see in the pics, all the ingredients are fresh and bright. At this point, the concept isn't new and exciting, so I think it's a matter of convenience for diners to choose from the plethora of healthy bowl options around. The new hot spot for lunch in Tampa. My colleagues and I decided to try it out for lunch one day and we were immediately greeted at the door. The employees were super excited to see people coming in a day after they opened. I ordered a BYO bowl but with an Asian twist. I got arugula and farrow as my base topped with carrots, cucumbers, and cabbage. For the final toppings I decided to try the crispy rice and extra cilantro. I love cilantro and I could taste how fresh it was when I ate my bowl. The crispy rice is a topping I would ask for lite next time because it made my bowl too crunchy and it almost started to make my mouth sore. I got the peanut vinaigrette dressing and it was SO good. It was the perfect amount of saltiness/creaminess and it wasn't too heavy. For my meat choice I got the regular blackened chicken and it was very juicy. I got a water to drink but their teas looked amazing and my coworkers said they were freshly squeezed. Parking was a little tricky as most of it is parallel parking but we managed to circle around once and luckily found a spot. My bowl was $17 and I did eat all of it. The BYO bowls tend to be more expensive but since it was my first time, I wanted to get all the toppings that stood out to me. Overall, I will go back. I ordered the guacamole greens through the app. I was so pleased with the convenience and ease of ordering on the app. However, I was quickly disappointed when I took the lid off. It fits in to the custom bowl culture and I love that I can customize what goes into my bowl and they have lots of healthy options.
