Sweetgreen is one of my favorite spots for the best bowls and salads in California, so I was happy to see so many in New York! I visited this location twice during a very brief work function. On both visits the food and service were excellent. This location is very clean and convenient. I placed both of my orders online. I almost always use the online platform with my account because it is fast/simple since I save my preferences and dietary restrictions. My food was made fresh to order and ready upon arrival, no waiting. I was driving to pick up my first order and wanted to add three items. I called the store and Micah answered, he was pleasant and helpful. He was more than willing to add the items to my order. I asked for recommendations. Micah was so knowledgeable about the ingredients and able to make the best recommendations given the dietary restrictions/limitations/allergens, he was so patient and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed the recommendations (Garden Cobb, Buffalo Chicken, Crispy Rice Bowl), he encouraged us to try new items and we sure are glad we did. This location had a great drink selection (Kombucha, Lemonade, Tea) and yes, a few desserts as well. If you are looking for something very specific, you can easily build your own salad, bowl, or protein plate. There truly is something on the menu for every single palate. Sometimes it's fresh and flavorful, other times it feels like it's been sitting too long. I've been to a number of quick service salad spots, but sweetgreen was always one that escaped me. Hard to believe, I know - since it's one of the trendiest ones and has multiple locations in NYC. Anyway, I was in a salad mood and discovered this sweetgreen close to my office - so off I went. Like many quick service spots, sweetgreen has their own app where you can order ahead - immediately upon entry I noticed a large wall filled with cubbies broken down by letter where mobile orders were placed. I didn't think ahead, so I made my way towards the queue which I had no line. I decided to get the Kale Caesar which was really tasty - good balance of components and dressed just right; all the ingredients were fresh. I honestly don't understand the hype around Sweet green. For $15, I'm getting a half filled, hastily made salad by a grumpy employee served in a "sustainable" box. Sure SG team did a nice job of creating attractive restaurants with bright, colorful, healthy menu items with sustainably sourced ingredients and a loyal-following among youngsters. But what does that leave me, as a customer to feel good about, if I am not even semi-full with my order. It's not gonna taste mind-blowing either, because you're paying for healthy food. So I wonder how many chances do I give SG till I finally get their "why" and consider downloading their app. SG sure had it's golden period in the mid-2010s but it needs to realize that now it already has solid competition - just salad, chopt, cava, etc. do a great job delighting customers with better portions, equal quality & taste. The management at the 44th and 3rd Sweetgreen is so above and beyond!!! I never thought I would feel like a salad place treats me like family but here they do! They also have taken my annoying requests and spun it into actually listening and saying they are appreciative of feedback (vs just finding it annoying lol). They do such a great job with my salad and customer service that I tell my colleagues to go and I go every day that I'm in the office. Also, I noticed the management of this location specifically is great at retaining staff - which in my experience is always the truest sign of employees being satisfied and of strong management. Sweetgreen on 44th & Lex is our go to for the the best salads and bowls. I've admired their food quality, cleanliness, efficiency - but today I got to test their customer commitment. I mistakenly ordered a big lunch order online for pick up at 10:45 AM (ASAP) instead of 12:15. and after hitting submit, I realized that I accidentally hit it for pick up 2 hours earlier than I wanted it. I tried to fix it online but it was too late - order was in progress. The store didn't open until 10:30 but the doors were unlocked and Micah - I assume he's the manager - (natural leader if he isn't) stepped in and was able to cancel my order (which was being prepared) - without making me feel like an idiot. I was 100% sure I was walking out of their with food - 2 hours too soon. Thank you Micah and Sweetgreen's, very cool experience. read more

I especially like the Crispy Rice Salad and the spicy cashew dressing from this spot. Sometimes, the dressing has too much vinegar, which changes the consistency, and it messes up a portion of the meal. However, it still tastes good for the most part. Sweet Green always delivers on taste but falls short when the lunch hour rush comes. Oftentimes, pre ordered items have designated pick-up times and are late when coming out. This sweetgreen branch recently opened up within the last 6 months but has consistently been poor in service and food preparation. 4 out of 5 times of ordering online, we've received bowls that are missing certain items/misprepped altogether/barely half full. Really wish the staff was more consistent and trained properly since it is an ongoing issue... the physical space itself is clean and organized, and ingredients are mostly fresh and stocked. I ordered a Sweetgreen salad for lunch pick-up through the app. This Sweetgreen is so crowded during peak lunch hours on weekdays, so I would advise ordering ahead if possible. When I showed up at 1pm, the line was almost out the door. This is a clean, well-organized Sweetgreen location with shelves at the front for easy pick-up. I love their warm Harvest bowl, which has the perfect salty/sweet flavor profile with kale, goat cheese, almonds, roasted sweet potatoes, and apples. The rest of the salad seemed to be smaller than I remembered for the $15 price tag -- maybe Sweetgreen locations are cutting back given inflation. I reached out to customer service about portion size, and they were kind enough to compensate for the experience. 3 stars for experience, adding another star for Sweetgreen customer service at least. read more

At least half of the greens were rotting as you can see from the photo, the slice of rosemary focaccia was extremely stale, and I was tasting tons of sand/pebbles in my salad.
