Buns were incredibly good - a close second to a joint in Chicago we ate at last weekend. Succulent meat, plenty of sauce, and just the usual pillowy bun. The edamame didn't seem spicy at first - then my face melted. Still good but a deep burning spiciness to them as advertised. For my entree I got the beef miso ramen, adding corn and an egg. The corn wasn't just a pile of kernels - but a side slice of a cob. Cool presentation. Beef was good and the broth soothed my soul. Top 10 ramen places I've been - well done.

They had a variety of sake and beer options. The inside is small but turnaround is fairly quick. Lots of two seaters and a large table that we were able to snag after just a few minutes of waiting. There was also bar seating. Pretty dark inside to add to the ambiance for a quick date or catch up with friends. Checked in to the waitlist via Resy because we didn't have a reservation, and it was a short wait. Service was prompt.

We arrived before the lunch rush, so we were seated immediately and started ordering soup dumplings, rice rolls and a variety of other delicious dim-sum options. We ate our faces off. The entrance is very unassuming and honestly could be easy to miss - it's overshadowed by the large BBQ place next doors but I do like how it's a hole in the wall type of spot. Inside, The Pho 2 doesn't have that much seating. When I went, there weren't that many people so it was easy to get seated and the food came out super quick. I decided to order the flank pho and the size of the bowl was HUGE. They give you a lot of soup - and a decent amount of meat and noodles. On the side, it also comes with your classic bean sprouts, mint, and lime. Flavor wise it packed a punch and they had your classic sauces on the side - as well as chili oil that they have too. Their menu is very small so you know the kitchen doesn't overcomplicate making food - which I love when it comes to restaurant efficiency. For my fix of pho, I'll be back to have some more!

I really, really liked the chashu-it was moist, tender, a little fatty, and was well-seasoned. I just wish that the ramen was a little bit spicier. The egg was cooked perfectly soft boiled, and the noodles were thin noodles, which is my favorite kind of ramen noodles. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.
