My lady and I were going to a friend's place for dinner and wanted to bring some sweet treats for dessert. She had gotten desserts from this place before and recommended it so we decided to get the goods here. Definitely glad we did too! I mean... Who can say no to tasty gourmet cupcakes? "Not I!", said the fly guy! We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, and simply walking into the place, seeing and smelling everything they had to offer, I was already sold. The place itself isn't huge at all but offers quite a few options for cupcakes, cookies, and other baked desserts. Can't do a whole cupcake? Get some minis! Everything is made fresh in house daily and looks amazingly decadent. My lady and I looked at all the cupcakes, somehow refraining for getting one of EVERYTHING, and instead deciding on two of three different kinda; two chocolate peanut butter (because anything chocolate and peanut butter is my Achilles' heel), two vanilla party cake, and two black & white. When we got to our friend's place, she and her husband were very impressed with the look, and of course the epic taste, of the cupcakes. They were all very moist, rich, and delicious. The chocolate peanut butter was absolutely a big hit with all of us. Let's face it, we all need a sweet tooth fix every now and then, and I'd say Sweeterie is an excellent place to get that fix. Again, who can say not to tasty gourmet cupcakes. I didn't and I doubt anyone who stops by here would either.

Loved stopping here for an afternoon pick me up. Enjoyed a cupcake with peanut butter icing. Space was clean and well decorated. Nice selection of cupcakes, and cookies to pick from. Served quickly and enjoyed the conversation. Will definitely be stopping again!

I don't have what you'd call a 'sweet tooth', but -- boy, oh boy -- is The Sweeterie delicious! After eating at Dilly Cafe one afternoon, my sister-in-law mentioned the 'cute place upstairs' but we didn't have time to stop in (I took note of the cute logo and figured it couldn't be half bad). So when her birthday rolled around I thought, 'what better to get her than a treat (or two) from The Sweeterie?' The inside was not as frilly as I'd expected, but it was clean and cute nonetheless. (Frankly, I liked that the decor wasn't invasive, contrived or over the top.) It -- of course -- smelled delicious, but at first glance it didn't seem that there were a ton of choices. Not that it even mattered, because what I did get was more than selection enough. I opted for three cupcakes: Party CupCake, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Double Chocolate Fudge. Before I gave my SIL her cupcakes, I was sure to try the latter (I had to make sure it wasn't poisonous, y'know). I don't even know if I have the words for just how delicious it was. (She didn't find them too shabby, either.) It may seem a bit pricey if you think more than $3 per cupcake is expensive, but when this delicacy costs less than a greeting card these days, how can it not be worth it?

I love the Sweeterie, especially since it is so close by and only a walk away. Their cupcakes are delicious, maybe not the best in town, but definitely the most creatively decorated. I love her adorable ideas. Their cake is pretty moist - not dry and crumbly - and their icing is good - some are great though. Their black raspberry cupcake, a seasonal in October I believe it was, was my all time favorite. Mostly, I can never go because it is always open when I am work, and never when I come home.

There are several things that I like in life. A few notable mentions are folk music, morning dew on the grass, Judd Apatow films, and kittens. However, there are only a few things in life that I truly love. Those would be women, crack, and cupcakes. Okay, crack was a joke, which just leaves women and cupcakes. And since women have a tendency to berate me and leave me I'd have to say that cupcakes are the one thing in life that I truly love unconditionally. So when I think of getting a cupcake my mind generally directs me to one place - The Sweeterie. This quaint, aesthetically pleasing, little bakery is located in the beautiful village of Mariemont. You won't find much of anything at this cupcakery (God, I love that word) but about ten varieties of cupcakes and a couple different cookies. But what you will find is a stunning selection among the ten different cupcakes offered. My three favorites would be the Coconut Cupcake, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Cupcake, and the Carrot Cake Cupcake. The cupcakes here are soft, inspiring, wonderfully prepared, and amazing to the palate. They say money can't buy you happiness but at The Sweeterie $3.25 can buy you a delicious cupcake which in my book is pretty much the same thing. You owe it to your stomach and your soul to make your way to The Sweeterie at your next earliest convenience!

Some aspects of Pendleton Parlor were on point and others left a little to be desired. First, it's…read morelocated in a really lovely part of Pendleton near a part of Broadway that's permanently closed for pedestrians and outdoor dining, so the ambiance is really nice. The inside of the shop is interesting, with knickknacks and things to look at in every corner- kids would love it for this reason! I immediately noticed that there were no prices on the menu... there were cups displayed on the counter with small/medium/large pricing but it wasn't clear what these cups were for- it looked like shakes. It was very off-putting for me to not know the prices of what I'm ordering, especially with more specialty items like cookie dough or coffee/ice cream creations where I can't predict a standard price. Second, there was only one dairy-free option... a cookies and cream ice cream. While it was tasty, it was my only option and that never feels great to order something because you have to. It also didn't have a description or any info available so I was left wondering what made it nondairy... almond? Coconut? Oil? Of course at a creamy whip type place I'm not going to expect the entire menu to accommodate me, but it's nice when there are at least a couple other options- especially with coffee, it would be easy to have a nondairy milk available or a sorbet/dole whip since they already carry many flavors. I tried a tiny bite of my husband's edible cookie dough and it was delicious! Seemed really sweet though- he could barely finish his side by side because it was so sugary--a good problem to have :)) I think I would go back if I had friends with me or happened to be in the area for Blink or the pool or something, but otherwise I would probably choose somewhere else where I have more options s and I know what I'm going to spend.
