The food here is so good! Our sandwiches were huge and delicious. Small portion of fries-could have had more. The menu has so many things on it. It was hard to decide. Our food came in about 15 minutes. We didn't have the best service-the server was friendly, but it took forever for us to get her to come take our order and we had to ask someone else for refills. We asked for several things during our visit and always had to wait at least five minutes. It took 10 minutes for us to get our bill after we asked. She checked up on us one time. You have to pay at the counter on your way out, and that did take quite a while because of people getting coffees and desserts. It would be better if the waitress could take payments. I will definitely come back for the food. Hopefully the service will be better. Don't miss out on this gem! read more

I can not believe I have not reviewed Sweet Tooth Cafe. I have been multiple times and have enjoyed everything. Sometimes I have just popped in for some baked goods. Other times I sat down and enjoyed a late lunch or early dinner. When I was there for lunch or dinner, the waitresses and staff were helpful. I always enjoyed a soup and sandwich. I have always lucked out with parking on the street almost out in front. The area is so cute. Almost like you are in a cute Hallmark movie, of maybe Gilmore Girls. They have wonderful beverages. I had a chocolate covered strawberry latte when I was there one day. It really hit the spot for my drive home. I enjoyed their fresh tomato soup, and sandwich with pasta salad. I brought cupcakes home to enjoy with the family. They are a pretty good size. Overall, this is a hot spot in Gloucester. I highly suggest checking them out. read more

On 20 September 2025 my sister and I stopped in Sweet Tooth Cafe after a morning hike. I only wanted a hot tea, but the tempting pastry display coerced me into getting a big, gooey, creamy, pecan topped cinnamon bun. That the customer service person offered to warmed up . The cafe was small but Very cute!!! While enjoying my tea and pastry I watched several impressively delicious looking meals coming from the kitchen.--eggs Benedict for one. Clearly. Went with a friend to lunch. I live here and Gloucester but have never been. The building and environment is wonderful. It's very nice inside and I love the decor. We also realized afterwards there was cute outdoor seating in the back (will try that next time). I got the brisket grilled cheese. It was sooo good! (Even my reheated leftovers were good). I got it with the Mac and cheese which was also creamy and delicious. My friend is a regular and so she of course enjoyed her food as well. The waitress was NOT very friendly at all. You would think with all the Christian music playing that would not be so. I asked if the sweet potato fries went with the sauce that they added to the table and she gave me the most unkind sarcastic smile and said a rather exasperated "yes". Disappointing and frankly uncalled for, I tipped 18% despite not wanting to tip at all. When I apologized for disturbing her with such a question, she did not even acknowledge it. Very disappointed. I purchased a cheesecake and some other overpriced pastries for a friend's birthday and they were awful. So stale and dry. I was embarrassed that I gave them to someone something so awful. Also, I purchased a coffee and had to use the little pods for creamer, which is ridiculous that they wouldn't give me regular half-and-half. read more

Sadly, I made a purchase of cakes and cupcakes for a celebration and the cakes both chocolate and vanilla were dry. The frosting on the baked goods was awful. My guests were kind and didn't complain, but it was evident by their reactions and the leftovers that they felt as I did, that this was not good. I'm very disappointed especially because based on the high cost of the what I assumed was a high end bakery, I clearly didn't get what I paid for. My coffee was delicious my friends was a little overly sweet so couldn't finish it, but white chocolate mochas can be that way. We ordered a wrap which I really wished they warmed the wrap so it wasn't as stiff. It was ok nothing to order again. Then we got to the sweets that we came for!!! What a let down the cinnamon rolls were so dry it was like a desert in my mouth I needed water my gosh those were not fresh at all. The atmospher just has that family feel to it. When I eat there I always feel like I am eating with my family. The owner Crystal well what can I say, she is fantastic! She would come out when she could to check on me and we shared a few laughs even though she was extremely busy. So, if you want to try a resturant with that family touch, come out and try Sweet Tooth Cafe! Delicious food and drinks. I recomend the Chocolate Lover's delight and the Coconut pie! I left my home in search of something different. I knew I wanted a delicious dessert but other than that I had no clue....what I stumbled upon was something that more than satisfied my sweet tooth it truly filled my heart and soul. I had no idea that quite literally God led me exactly where I needed to go. The food was delicious, the service was great but it was the environment that made it exceptional. A place serving God by serving others. If you haven't been to this quaint little place in Gloucester Court House you are truly missing something more than delicious food. I can't remember the last time I left a place that fed my body, mind and spirit. Truly grateful that I was led to a wonderful meal in a place that satisfied far more than my sweet tooth. Service at this business is awful. Rude staff at register taking orders and not greeting customers, just can't be bothered. One worker overheard saying sarcastically "I live my job" after being handed wet towels from self cleaning a spill caused by THEM not putting lid on tight. Orders were glacially slow in receiving. Waited even longer for the check. My chicken caesar wrap was only ok. We decided to share a piece of key lime pie and it was so bad, I actually thought it was bad. My family and I recently moved to the area from Georgia to be closer to the rest of my family, and I had been looking forward to the first mother/daughter lunch out. My mom, who lives in Gloucester recommended this location so today we decided to visit for lunch. When we arrived the power was out at the restaurant (and apparently in other parts of the city) but to my surprise instead of being turned away we were welcomed in and told they were still serving lunch, the only thing they couldn't do was heat the soup and make the specialty drinks in hot form. We were seated right away and given plenty of time to peruse the menu and chat. You would never have even known they were having a hiccup with the power grid as the staff made sure everything flowed smoothly. We started with a cold glass of mixed berry lemonade, and then ordered the daily special, a Caprese Melt on herbed focaccia. The food came pretty quickly, and the portion was more than generous, and it was love at first bite! The focaccia was absolutely perfect, and the flavors married beautifully with the fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella cheese. My mother and I ordered the same sandwich but for her side she chose their fresh cut house chips and I chose the cucumber salad. And then there was dessert....sweet tooth cafe has a wide assortment of baked goods, made from scratch...and it was so hard to choose what to try first. We ended up deciding on the tiramisu and we split it. Other options were key lime pie, carrot cake, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls that were the size of a sandwich plate, and eclairs. The tiramisu was amazing!!! With the perfect balance of flavors. By the end of the meal, just before we finished the lights came back on and everything went back to normal for the team working there, but again you never would have even known that they had any challenges. Stopped in on a lark as I needed some dessert for a dinner. Their glass case had loads of good things from which to choose. I had a tough time deciding but ultimately settled on the lemon blueberry bread pudding, the vanilla bean bread pudding and the banana pudding. All three items were wildly popular at dinner later that evening. Everyone kept asking "Now where did you get these desserts?". This place has 5 stars for a reason! I came to town to attend a friend's wedding and stopped for brunch since I wanted to see the area a bit. As soon as I pulled up I was greeted with the sweet worship music they play, and the girls who greeted and took my order were so kind! I also had no idea the quiche came with so much; I ordered it to go so I could sit outside to eat, and was pleasantly surprised to see spiced baked apples and a crostini as sides! Walking through the beautiful front door, we were warmed by the welcoming greeting of the staff person at the front. After trying to decide between pumpkin cheesecake, banana pudding, or a pecan sweet roll for dessert, we ended up taking all three. The Lox with cream cheese on a bagel was the non-dessert item, along with two coffees. I loved the historical photos on the wall and spent a few minutes walking around to see them, along with a few inspirational quotes.
