Even tho arcade games have been replaced by the games that we have today... TRUST if the arcade was still there...it would absolutely still be used. Sure there was probably a period where it just sat, but I see arcades a lot more these days and people who actually love going to them. It's a connection to their past and their kids love them too. The ice cream is good but gotdayuuuum! Their prices are insane! I get things get more expensive over time but come on, what they charge for a small and what you actually get (in a dish) is absurd. Makes me very sad. I can honestly say, after this last visit that...that was probably my last visit to Twistees. I'll go again if my friends from high school wanna go when I'm back visiting bc we went all the time back in the day. Aside from that tho, yeah, pass. Long Pier is pricey too, but they give you the portions you'd expect and the ice cream tastes better to me. That's the other one in Geneva that's not far far from Twistees. Anyway, people will always go here bc it's Twistees is a local legend, place is iconic, it's a Geneva staple. I just know a lot who skip over and go elsewhere. I'd never want it to close bc that would be a huge part of my childhood.. gone, but ugh at least bring back the miniature golf course!! Bring back some of the magic that made Twistees magical! The interior is the same as always, while the available flavors are unpredictable, but a taste makes everything right in the world. Their flavor menu has been updated to indicate which flavors contain gluten and which ones don't. They also now have a protocol for those with strict gluten allergies. This time it was spring, so they didn't have my favorite Jalepeno Popper this time around. But they did have Lavender. For the second and third scoops we got Pistachio, followed by Butter Pecan. As a reminder, they use 14 percent buttermilk, and their ice cream emphasizes FLAVOR over sugar. Despite the high fat content, their ice cream doesn't feel heavy while you're eating it. Take that as a warning, since you might feel it after you consume too much. The Lavender was fantastically floral. The Pistachio was like eating Pistachios. Each flavor is exactly as described. Previously, I had also gotten my coworkers ice cream from here several years prior. Hand-packed into pints, you'll need a serious amount of self-control to avoid finishing them in a single sitting. They've also opened up a location in DeWitt Mall on the Seneca Street side of the commons.

She came back out from the front and asked again if I needed anything. So, I got a blueberry muffin. I LOVE blueberry muffins, but I never buy them anymore bc I no longer eat most things like that. It's a sad, lonely choice I made....to cut out all the tasty treats in the world lol NOT THIS DAY THO!! haha! I could not resist. The looked incredible and for $2 a piece being as big as they were...I had to. UNBELIEVABLY delicious. I was so happy I got it. It is very unfortunate that the old ethnic bakeries have gone away and replaced primarily by grocery stores. It appears that the children of the old ethnic bakeries saw how hard their parents worked and decided to become doctors and lawyers and such. The delicious cakes of our long ago memories are gone. I visit a lot of new bakeries trying to relive my past memories. It appears that most of these new bakeries utilize standard cake mixes available from a variety of sources. They may add an ingredient of two to try to make it taste more homemade, but they all fail my taste and texture tests. Most are light and fluffy cake with average icing. They do look good however, but that is not what I look for. I look for taste and texture. I was very pleasantly surprised with our recent visit to Sweet Solutions on Main Street in Canandaigua. I ordered two large cakes for a corporate event. One was Vanilla/Vanilla and the other was Triple Chocolate. WOW ! Both cakes were exceptional in both taste and texture. They looked great too. Both cakes were devoured by the 45 people in attendance. Sweet Solutions mentioned that each cake would serve about 40 people. They must serve small slices. Our guests had two and three helpings apiece. Everyone raved on how great the cakes were. I personally had three pieces (large by the way) and would have had more the next day if any were available. The visit to Sweet Solutions took me back to the 60's and 70's when Shreck's and Vecchi's bakeries in Canandaigua when I was a child. Both were exceptional bakeries that were local institutions. There are a few bakeries in Rochester, NY who make some nice cakes but they are not as good as Sweet Solutions in Canandaigua, NY. My wife is ordering another today ! I am overjoyed to finally find a bakery that can meet my high standards. I can honestly say that Sweet Solutions is the best in the greater Rochester area. Thanks for reading.
