Sunday night final dessert while in FLX. Our dinner place didn't have much by way for dessert so I was able to snipe this places right around the corner. Reminds me of any other drive-in, small town ice cream stand - but this one had a drive-thru which was packed. The walk up was packed too. Ok, so I grew up on this place. It was the only pace to go when we were kids. Summers during high school, we always went here for the amazing ice cream and always played mini golf there. They had the best miniature golf course. That's gone. And honestly, the magic of Twistees is as well. The took out the miniature golf course and put in a stupid playground that I legit have never seen any kids playing on. Not sure what happened to this place. I'm just assuming some lame a$$ bought it and changed everything fun about it. There used to be a small arcade too. Not sure if that's there, but pretty sure....it is not. Even tho arcade games have been replaced by the games that we have today... TRUST if the arcade was still there...it would absolutely still be used. Sure there was probably a period where it just sat, but I see arcades a lot more these days and people who actually love going to them. It's a connection to their past and their kids love them too. The ice cream is good but gotdayuuuum! Their prices are insane! I get things get more expensive over time but come on, what they charge for a small and what you actually get (in a dish) is absurd. Makes me very sad. I can honestly say, after this last visit that...that was probably my last visit to Twistees. I'll go again if my friends from high school wanna go when I'm back visiting bc we went all the time back in the day. Aside from that tho, yeah, pass. Most ice cream places are pricey, but it's sad to see how expensive Twistees is and the tiny portions you get for what they charge. Oh, I asked for rainbow sprinkles too. Been getting that ever since I was a tiny kid. She said "small chocolate with rainbow sprinkles!" They were red and green sprinkles. Christmas. Nothing rainbow about them. I didn't grab it bc it clearly was different than what I ordered. I know, small thing to complain about but it was weird. Then she shook the ice cream toward me and said ..: "small chocolate, rainbow sprinkles!" I said...those are rainbow? Looks like Christmas to me" Even the guy next to me was like...you know that's not rainbow, right? No response from her lol. Overall they are nice there but that was weird. Long Pier is pricey too, but they give you the portions you'd expect and the ice cream tastes better to me. That's the other one in Geneva that's not far far from Twistees. Anyway, people will always go here bc it's Twistees is a local legend, place is iconic, it's a Geneva staple. I just know a lot who skip over and go elsewhere. I'd never want it to close bc that would be a huge part of my childhood.. gone, but ugh at least bring back the miniature golf course!! Bring back some of the magic that made Twistees magical! I went there for the first time after moving to town. They have a large selection of ice cream, shakes, sundaes and toppings. I got their sampler pack with four flavors. Their menu features a lot of different flavors. The flavors were interesting because they aren't the general flavors you would get from a store. The staff were absolutely superb as well. I will definitely will return once the weather gets warmer. read more

I came here to get some Dole whip and to my surprise they had gluten free waffles cones! Not a lot of places have gluten free cones so that was nice. All of the food is labeled really well for anyone who has dietary restrictions. This was the worst ice cream cone I've ever had! I ordered a medium cone with cherry dip top. I asked the worker to put it upside down into a cup. She gave me a medium size paper cup and the ice cream barely came to the middle of it. There was about 1/2 cup of ice cream. Inside the cup, the dip top was all liquid and nothing stuck to the ice cream. It's suppose to harden into a shell. The ice cream was really melted, almost liquid. My sister got the same thing in a small and barely got a kiddie serving. The cost was over $11. I can do better getting ice cream from a grocery store. What a disapointment! read more

An absolute essential in Geneva. A drive through, play ground and plenty of rotating flavors. It's open seasonally as many ice cream stands in the area are. They do take credit cards which is nice for a small operation. I really appreciate that they have many flavors of dole whip for my daughter who is allergic to eggs. This was a super delicious ice cream cone on a warm day. I got the blueberry cheesecake yogurt which was a very good hard serve yogurt. It was full of large cheesecake chunks and in true small town ice cream shoppes, the sizes are huge for what you pay! read more

Mr. Twistee's lost a very loyal customer today. Literally, every year during their open season I am there almost every week to have some of their new frostlines. The older lady, I believe the owner was so rude to my grandmother for absolutely no reason. She talked to her with such disgust that it really took everything in me to smile and say "that's okay" so as not to ruin the day we were having. I will never go there again. Lots of "options" however most of the flavors are watery and more like popcicles than ice cream. For a similar price you can drive 25 min west to the Cheshire Creamery and get rich, thick ice cream. read more

On a nice day this is the place to get your ice cream. Our favorite is the oatmeal but it isn't served daily. However there are other options like black raspberry or black cherry. You get a good amount of ice cream in either a cone or dish. I get the dish because I feel I would drop the ice cream out of the cone. So disappointed. First, we paid $5.15 for a medium with sprinkles. I figured ok...it's been expensive in past years, I guess I forgot how expensive Twistee's got. This is a nice place for ice-creams if you're in the area for wine tasting, and need to have something to offset your alcohol intake! Both the hard and soft ice creams are good. This is the ice cream stand I love to go to. It's got good selections of hard and soft ice creams. Good portion for the kids and best of all a nice play ground for the kids to run freely. I got a two scoop in a waffle bowl; chocolate pretzel and peanut butter cookie dough. The wife got two scoop in a waffle bowl cappuccino chocolate and the chocolate caramel pretzel. They have a pretty good selection of flavors, although I feel like there are always too many peanut butter options. The hard ice cream usually tastes great, but for some reason it melts really quickly...as in, it's usually already dripping down my arm (yes, past my hand) when they hand it to me! It's frustrating!
