They had the best miniature golf course. That's gone. And honestly, the magic of Twistees is as well. The took out the miniature golf course and put in a stupid playground that I legit have never seen any kids playing on. Not sure what happened to this place. I'm just assuming some lame a$$ bought it and changed everything fun about it. There used to be a small arcade too. Not sure if that's there, but pretty sure....it is not. Even tho arcade games have been replaced by the games that we have today... TRUST if the arcade was still there...it would absolutely still be used. Sure there was probably a period where it just sat, but I see arcades a lot more these days and people who actually love going to them. It's a connection to their past and their kids love them too. The ice cream is good but gotdayuuuum! Their prices are insane! I get things get more expensive over time but come on, what they charge for a small and what you actually get (in a dish) is absurd. Makes me very sad. I can honestly say, after this last visit that...that was probably my last visit to Twistees. I'll go again if my friends from high school wanna go when I'm back visiting bc we went all the time back in the day. Aside from that tho, yeah, pass. Most ice cream places are pricey, but it's sad to see how expensive Twistees is and the tiny portions you get for what they charge. Oh, I asked for rainbow sprinkles too. Been getting that ever since I was a tiny kid. She said "small chocolate with rainbow sprinkles!" They were red and green sprinkles. Christmas. Nothing rainbow about them. I didn't grab it bc it clearly was different than what I ordered. I know, small thing to complain about but it was weird. Then she shook the ice cream toward me and said ..: "small chocolate, rainbow sprinkles!" I said...those are rainbow? Looks like Christmas to me" Even the guy next to me was like...you know that's not rainbow, right? No response from her lol. Overall they are nice there but that was weird. Long Pier is pricey too, but they give you the portions you'd expect and the ice cream tastes better to me. That's the other one in Geneva that's not far far from Twistees. Anyway, people will always go here bc it's Twistees is a local legend, place is iconic, it's a Geneva staple. I just know a lot who skip over and go elsewhere. I'd never want it to close bc that would be a huge part of my childhood.. gone, but ugh at least bring back the miniature golf course!! Bring back some of the magic that made Twistees magical!
