Been here twice both times I got the peanut butter and black raspberry twist. It's very good. They also have a dog Sunday that my pup loves! They have many creatives options for both hard and soft served ice cream. You can't go wrong with ice cream!

My mom, who's originally from NY, told me for year's about Frozen Custard. We spent the day in Finger Lakes wine region and drove past Max's Custard. We just had to stop because it's really hard to find, where I live, on the North Shore of Boston. I got their vanilla and my boyfriend their chocolate. Okay so we were completely blown away at the creaminess and bursting flavors. Their staff informed us that it's not part of their Perry's ice cream line, but from a farm up the street from their place. If you've never had frozen custard, not to be confused with regular soft-serve ice cream, but true frozen custard, definitely take a trip here. You absolutely will not be disappointed.

Happily, Max's is open in early June. They have frozen custard and Perry's ice cream.

Both flavors were incredible: super creamy and rich. My friend got chocolate almond fudge, and that was just as good. We also grabbed some baked treats to go (brownie, whoopie pie, and muffins), and everything tasted amazing. Other than sweet treats, they also have coffees and teas on their menu, and a bunch of different dairy products. It feels cozy, local, and authentic - like everything is fresh or straight from the farm. It's actually part of a long-standing local farm operation, which makes the experience feel even more genuine. I also loved that they support other local businesses and sell products from them, it adds to that community feel. Overall, this place is more than just an ice cream stop, it's a whole experience. Definitely coming back.

I got the chocolate soft serve with rainbow sprinkles and it was the perfect sweet treat. If you only want a little something, you can get a kids size like I did, but they also have small, medium, and large sizes too. One thing to know is that it is cash only. If you do not have cash, they may offer an IOU like they did for us. There is an ATM next door, but I had issues with it not accepting my card, and my friends had the same problem, so I ended up paying in quarters. They were very kind and patient about it though. The line can get pretty long, but it moves quickly, so it is not a bad wait at all. It would be nice if there was more seating, especially since so many people come here, but overall it is still a really great stop for ice cream.

Cute seasonal ice cream spot in Ithaca!…read more Located in downtown- the line can get pretty long in the evenings- even on weekdays. Cash only so be prepared. I am partial to soft serve but have tried both their hard icecream and soft serve. I prefer their soft serve but wish they had more flavors. I tried the classic chocolate twist and the two berry twist soft serves. In the two berry twist, I didn't like the pink flavor- it was too icy and more like a sorbet/dole whip than true soft serve. I liked the purple flavor thought! Overall, I still frequent Sweet Melissa's for softserve close to Cornell! Would recommend!
