They hold themselves to such high standards, they were giving salted caramel away that weren't pretty off. I thought they looked fine and tasted even better. And then there's the wildflower collection. The violet and clover honey were my favorites, but the lavender, dandelion wine, and rise were great, too. And so pretty. The shop is bright and welcoming. Service is excellent. You can even make your own selection for gift boxes in different sizes. For now on, this is a must visit when I'm in town. They also serve their own small batch ice cream next door.

A perfectly normal cardboard carton of vanilla ice cream from Wegmans. I said "no, let's get real ice cream", typed "ice cream" into google maps, and was led here. Hedonist ice cream, my friends, is not Wegmans. And I'm not knocking Wegmans - it's perfectly normal ice cream with a ton of ingredients I can't pronounce for purposes of preservation. Hedonist ice cream is so much more than a cardboard carton of ice cream. They have a rotating menu of flavors, all made fresh and in-house with no preservatives. I have never met a cookies n cream ice cream I didn't love, so I went with that. Mom had a salted caramel ice cream that was fabulous. I paid for both of us since the ice cream was my idea. She was shocked at the 12 dollar total for both of us. "That's three things of ice cream at Wegmans!" But at Hedonist, it's absolutely quality over quantity. Even my mom admitted it tasted better. She wouldn't go back there, and I may not because I live 400 miles away from there, but if I was in town again and I was screaming for ice cream, I'd happily make my way over there again.

In today's world, spices are no longer as hard to find as they once were, from online to local ethnic grocery and beyond, there is so much to try. I really enjoy going into Stuart's and seeing new things that I should try. Getting recommendations from the staff and even, with some flavors, have a chance to smell/taste different offerings. I highly recommend stopping in and giving them a pride. It is a wonderfully calm and clean place with amazing staff and products.

Last week I received an amazing assortment of different spice combinations from Stuart's Spices. They also sent a sample of a rub with the 3 awesome baskets: habanero honey...it's delicious!! I might actually use it as a rub...if there's any left....since I've been sprinkling it in my salads. Mmmmm hmmmm!! Give me some of that hot, salty and sweet goodness to kick things up!! Can't wait to try the middle eastern varieties in my new Tagine that I'm curing right now. If I ever head to the area, I'll definitely visit the store in person. This is a GREAT place to get gifts for anyone on your list that cooks, likes to experiment with flavors/spices...or is just looking to start.

She rang me up for a mango for $.99 and it said "mango" on the screen in front of me. She then changed it to "fruit" for $1.50. I said I no longer wanted it and visibly put it back on the shelf. She then proceeded to give me a receipt which did not contain the mango, but the credit card charge did include the mango for $1.50. Not a lot of money, but charging me for something I didn't purchase is not OK with me especially after re-charging me for the same item and increasing it by 50%.If you go keep an eye on what they charge you.

Seeking the Korean staple…read moregochujang, which any asian grocery would dedicate feet of shelf space to, I was unable to locate it. I sought the assistance of the young cashier, the only staff member in the store. After walking up to find her incessantly texting on her phone, I waited nearly 3 minutes before she deigned to notice me. I asked for the location of the gochujang, only to be met by a blank stare. After asking again, she stated, "show me picture." Fine. It took mere seconds to bring up a photograph of the characteristic red tub shared by most brands. But in the intervening ten seconds, she'd reattached herself to her apparently engrossing texting. Another three minutes ensued in which she completely ignored me, despite having my phone, and an image of the item, thrust in her face. Finally, she looked up briefly, stated, "come back tomorrow," and blanked me again. I have never said this about any store, but I shall never return. Asia Food Market, a mile south, had four brands of gochujang, including sizes from small tubs to quart-size, at very cheap prices, an attentive staff, and fast checkout. Many dusty items on the shelves looked to be ancient, though the limited produce on display at the front was obviously fresh, much of it still in its distribution bins. One could use this market as an illustration for how to lose control of inventory and alienate customers.
