Wednesday night. Good crowd despite the rain. We were seated immediately. Great music selection mixture of pop, R & B and hip hop. Waiter came over timely to take drink orders. I had the So Fresh, So Clean one word amazing. I'm a sucker for a great cocktail and So Fresh, So Clean is definitely that. Well balanced, aromatic and satisfying if you love bourbon and fernet a must try. I had several. My guest just had lemonade boring lol I also had the Tiger Tiger Woods Y'all. It's was good but not as good or memorable as the So Fresh, So Clean. We ordered the Mac & cheese, crawfish hush puppies, fried chicken Parmesan and Nashville hot fried chicken. Mac & cheese was great. Well seasoned, cheesy and gooey. Perfect blend of cheeses. Only complaint is I wanted more of the ritz cracker crust. The hush puppies were divine. They were light and crisp had great crawfish flavor. Remoulade and sweeter sauce (forgot the name) were great accompaniments. The Nashville hot fried chicken was so good. Fluffy Belgian waffle with Dulce de leche sauce (not too much sauce or too sweet) with spicy fried chicken. I didn't need any syrup on my waffle just amazing. The chicken well seasoned, still juicy, crispy and spicy. My only complaint is I got a thigh and leg and I would have preferred a breast. But delicious nonetheless and I cleared my plate. My guest had the fried chicken Parmesan. She said it was incredible. Her waffle didn't need any syrup, either, barely needed any butter. She said she would definitely order this plate again. The hostess that was controlling the wait list on 1/1/16 needs some customer service training. We had a misunderstanding and came in when the wait was 30 minutes, so we said okay and waited. Instead of taking our name for her list she insisted that we walked away so our name wasn't down (although I stated my name a few times in our conversation). It wasn't until we kept waiting and realized we should have already been seated that we asked her again and she finally put our name down. It was upsetting considering the fact that she looked at us many times and I'm sure she had "man I should put their name on the list" on her mind but she instead said nothing... also by this time we saw several people put their name down that came in after us -_-. Aside from that, the food was so good! The chicken and waffles were fantastic and lived up to the expectation. I've had this place bookmarked for a while (ever since that Yelp event I didn't get into. Still salty about that one, Pete). Anyway, swung by on a Monday night and was immediately seated (good thing too, because some larger groups followed). They have private tables as well as picnic bench seating in the middle. Like being outside, only... inside. Started out with the duck liver pate. It was good but oh so rich. Could probably share among 3 or 4 people. For my chicken and waffles, we went with the rosemary/mushroom waffle to share. This was my first time at Sweet Chick. I'm a fan! We went to the Williamsburg location, it's a decent size and they are practicing social distancing. Usual menu process, scan the barcode and place your order through your phone. My boyfriend had the Nashville Chicken & Waffles and Vodka Lemonade, I had the Vegetarian OG Chicken Sandwich and Tequila Strawberry Lemonade. We also shared the Jalapeño Cheddar Hush Puppies, Potato Salad and Brussels Sprouts. Everything was delicious. My sandwich was a small size, but it was yummy and I got full eating the sides which is really only suitable for one but because we had 3 we decided to share. I devoured the potato salad, I barely left any for my boyfriend. The Jalapeño Cheddar Hush Puppies were really good as well. My boyfriend's Nashville Chicken & Waffles were a decent size 1 waffle cut into 4 & 2 pieces of spicy chicken. He loves spicy & claimed the chicken wasn't spicy at all, his tolerance for pepper is on a different level so we can't trust his judgment. It's really hard to wow him when it comes to food & he usually has left overs to take home, but he ate everything which meant the food was on point for him. The Brussels Sprouts were sweet as expected and we enjoyed them as well. Now as far as the drinks go, of course they were using house liquor but I enjoyed my Tequila Strawberry Lemonade. Cut in half. In other words... It was equal to the size of one regular Popeyes breast. That was disappointing. The crust was ok... You could taste the sage in it, which was different, not bad.. But not earth shattering either. My "sweet tea" WAS NOT SWEET. I broke my promise to stop looking for sweet tea, because ppl in the North have No idea how to make it, thank God for the sugar on the table. The simple syrup for the peach infusion was very weak. The toasted ritz crackers on top are also a great touch. The shells are soft and are perfect for holding all the cheese. The chicken and waffles are an obvious choice. I've been here a couple times, and they are always solid. My personal favorite is the chicken cordon bleu, which features chunks of ham with the cheese. The buffalo chicken is not too spicy, and the bleu cheese waffle compliments it well. The one thing I don't like? The General. It's supposed to be a play on General Tso chicken and rice meal, popular at Chinese food restaurants. We also got a side of mac and cheese which was nice and creamy with bread crumbs on top, nom nom. My friend and I split the waffles and the side and that was plenty of food for the two of us. Service was good and the staff was very friendly and during the week between 11 and 4 if you order a sandwhich or waffels you get a beer with it. On two occasions, I've been faced with nasty hostesses. Yesterday I was so angry that I asked the waitress what was the person seating us name. She said she was the manager (SMH), and her name was Cam. This young lady was nasty and rude for absolutely no reason. However, this wouldn't be the first time I experienced rudeness from staff seating people at tables. I hope they address this. I love this place and I love the food. WORST BRUNCH SPOT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO BECAUSE OF THEIR UNPROFESSIONALISM! My friend had the Sweet Chick Waffle and I had the Toasted Farro Bowl, cause it had avocado and that's always a WIN! We were super excited to try our dishes! Everything was perfect till I looked down at my dish and it was missing the AVOCADO, that was the first item listed on the menu description! I waved to our server, Breona and had asked her if my dish was supposed to have them in case I may have misread. She automatically responded with a "no," but my friend and I were confident that we had read that there were. So I had asked for the menu, and read that it was supposed to have it. She comes back and we show her the description and she snaps back with attitude saying "What's the problem? Is it missing, not there?" Yes, like we told her in the beginning. She goes to the kitchen for a few minutes to come out to tell us "they're all bad today so they didn't add it." Okay, first off as a server, she should know what's on the menu/dishes. Second, we should have been informed in the beginning that the dish will be incomplete, so I could have ordered something different or have the option to substitute it with something else. Third, after learning that the avocado was bad and not in my dish she should have offer if I wanted to change or try something else. She came back to check on our table, I had asked if I had to pay full price for my incomplete dish, she says "yes" and goes about to the front of the house to gossip with the hostess, and another member at bar! All in all, I paid the full 14 dollars for an incomplete dish which I was not at fault and for attitude that was UNNECESSARY, UNPROFESSIONAL, and UNWELCOMING! Our waitress Breona was rude to my friend about her dish. My friend and I went in on a beautiful day for brunch for the first at this location. I ordered the Sweet Chick Waffle and she had the Toasted Burrow Bowl. When she got her plate there were some ingredients missing and asked the waitress about that who responded saying the dish isnt supoosed to have it. When we asked to see the menu we saw the missing ingredients on the menu and she rudely said "Whats your problem. Are they not in there?" She came back to say the avocados were rotten and not included in the dish and was about to walk away without an apology before I asked about changing her dish. My friend declinded because of her attitude and the situation. I feel like the waitress should have informed us about the dish before ordering or herself offer a replacement. When my friend asked about the pricing since she felt we deserved a discount we were told we had to pay full price for a incomplete dish without options. My friend also noticed her gossiping about us to the rest of the staff. This made our brunch very uncomfortable and could have been avoided with a little more professionalism. I've heard so many good things about Sweet Chick (who hasn't) and after a super coincidental set of circumstances, I ended up right here on a Tuesday evening (around 6pm). My friend and I were seated immediately after being warmly greeted by the hostess. Chris, our server, was AMAZING!! He basically picked our entire meal and drink order and we weren't disappointed with any of it (also, much much love to the bartender who...is just honestly a supreme mixologist). The energy in this place is so good, the vibes (music choice and ambiance) seem perfect for any time of day any day of the week and the people are just really nice. It's been so hard to come by restaurants that are the total package - most are great in some ways and terrible in others - but I feel like that super long wait (the main inhibitor of my previous attempts to eat here) on the weekends would be worth it to anyone. The waffles were soft (not chewy) and buttery soaking up the syrup and chicken to perfection. And the chicken was lightly seasoned which made this meal quite balanced.
