Front door with entry sign and one of the two menus visible. Taken from inside our car.

I look forward to visiting under better terms when COVID is over but loved my visit. The food was delicious and baked goods are heavenly. They also are doing safety measures during COVID to keep their customers. We were exhausted from the long driving on the interstate and found this location on yelp. So glad we stopped because it was like home cooking. Will definitely be back to try some more cakes. Recommend the pick 4 meal and Elvis cake. Gonna try the Strawberry cake next time. Got a loaf of banana bread to go with some Milo teas. Definitely recommend this place!

Such a sweet little local spot! Found it in a map as I was driving by and wanted a local place to grab food. Big selection of sandwiches, salads, and baked goods. Got a 4 salad plate and my husband got a BLT. The shop was lovely and had lots of cute and tempting sweets. The staff were very kind. Definitely plan to stop here again when passing through.

Smells awesome when you walk through the door. I grabbed a loaf of fresh strawberry bread before I read the menu. Daily specials, grab&go in cooler, full baked desserts under the counter including cinnamon rolls. Why can't we have a place like this in every town? We ordered Chicken salad sandwich husband said it was good. I had pimento cheese sandwich with strawberry pretzel salad (it was more of a strawberry jello salad with pretzel crust-really tasty but sweet). I thought the strawberry would be on a bed of greens with crumbles of pretzels-nope. I wish the sandwiches had lettuce and tomatoes. Ended it with chocolate pie and Elvis cake. Both were excellent. Cute local spot! Definitely worth the stop along 65! We just left so busy but not a huge delay to get back on the road. Oh and ice tea-they give you a chilled cup!

This was my toasted cheese sandwich. I think it's more like stale bread with cheese. Not impressed for a $3 sandwich. Disappointed.

I ordered a toasted cheese and there was nothing toasted about it. No brown color or anuthing. Just seemed like stale bread. I know you are wondering why I went and ordered a cheese sandwich but I really went for the strawberry pretzel salad and piper and leaf tea. They didn't have the tea to serve so that was a no go. My order was to go, they forgot to give me the pretzel salad and then I didn't get silverware. Hopefully it's good because the sandwich sucks!

Our first time here, altho we had been favorably impressed at a couple of events in Huntsville that they catered. The wife and I each ordered a sandwich and a dessert. The sandwiches each came with potato chips and a pickle spear. We should have just split one sandwich, and a dessert. As it was, we were full after the sandwiches, and took the desserts with us. Some of their cake slices can be enormous, so you might want to ask how big they are. This place may be primarily a bakery, but they have a dining area with ten tables. They also appear to have a couple of tables to put out on the sidewalk when the weather is inviting. Suzanne's appears to be primarily a chick place. There were a dozen or more ladies lunching in small groups. At the time, I was the only guy there. They have a TV, but it wasn't on. Suzanne's also makes chicken salad, casseroles, and more. Come early, before they sell out of the daily specials.

The food is delicious. I love the chicken poppyseed casserole. I'm also a strawberry pretzel salad fan. I look forward to visiting again.

Since it is in the main part of downtown, super close parking is a bit of a big ask; we parked at a public government building about two blocks down and walked over. The inside is very small and only has a couple of two-seater tables and one bench setup, but there are multiple nice metal tables outside to sit at if the weather is good. Fortunately, we lucked out in that regard, as it was a nice day. The inside of the restaurant smelled absolutely amazing, so I was excited to order. Their lunch menu mostly consists of sandwiches and burgers, with limited sides like chips, broccoli salad, soup of the day, and so on. Bottled drinks and a couple of desserts round it all out. My parents split a Philly cheese steak sandwich with pasta salad; I got a chicken cheese steak with a cup of the soup of the day (potato), and we shared a slice of strawberry pretzel salad for dessert! The employees were nice enough to bring our food out to us while we were at a metal table on the patio, so that was sweet. Food came out relatively quickly and was definitely fresh. Overall, it was fine! My favorite thing was probably the strawberry pretzel salad; I wish I'd had a little more but I should've ordered my own portion! lol. The potato soup had really nice garlicky croutons on top that I enjoyed, though I wish there'd been bigger chunks of potato in it. I liked my chicken Philly just fine though I feel like it was missing some sort of flavor somewhere. My parents felt the same about their regular Philly. Unlike me, though, my mom unfortunately got several gristley bits she had to spit out. The chicken didn't have that same problem. Overall, a pleasant enough experience though I wouldn't say our socks were knocked off, haha. I'd return and try other menu options if I come back in the future.

From where we were at the Tennessee state line, it was about a 50 minute ride on small country roads. We arrived at Mike's Cafe after most of the lunch crowd was gone. We ordered the smoked chicken with fried potatoes, pinto beans and okra, a double cheeseburger deconstructed, small onion rings and a BLT to go. They didn't have turnip greens or collards so I ended up with fried potatoes. Fried cornbread was included. Inside the restaurant the ceiling in the small dining area was similar to galvanized siding. It was shiny new. I didn't ask if the dining area was a new addition. The shiny caught my attention. I believe there were 12 booths for seating. We were the only customers inside sitting while Mike, the owner, was back in the kitchen preparing our foods. We introduced ourselves and told Mike we drove over there because we heard so many great things about his food and that his restaurant was clean. It was clean too! Mike brought our foods out and we headed to the car. As we were about to leave, Mike came out with a sample of his hamburger soup on the house. What a lovely gesture. We thanked him and his wife and headed home to devour our haul. The smoked chicken was delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed the fried okra, pintos and fried potatoes. The BLT was made with a lot of thick cut bacon. Yummy! The double cheeseburger we shared later was delicious and cooked perfectly. If you like old style good home cooking, please stop by Mike's Cafe. His food is fire!
