WOW! Ate here for the first time and it was pleasant surprise to get friendly people, fast service, good eats, and fair pricing. Located in a very plain nondescript building this restaurant knocks the pants off any other deli in the area. The bathrooms were immaculate as well as the entire establishment. After I finished my shopping at a local business last month, I asked them for lunch suggestions. They recommended "Let's Do Lunch," and I am so glad they did! The scoop of chicken salad I had was great. The broccoli salad was good, too. I decided to purchase some items from the to go cooler before heading home. I chose the Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup, a quart of the Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad, a pumpkin brownie, and a tray of the frozen spaghetti. ALL FOUR items were simply outstanding! We had, well, lunch at this sweet spot last week. Tucked away in a nondescript white little building, Let's Do Lunch is a nice establishment to grab soup, salads, sandwiches, and a couple southern delicacies. They have indoor dining and a nice outdoor patio, so even though they were busy, there was plenty of room for our party. You place your order at the counter, pay, and they bring the food out to you. They also have a cooling case where you can grab premade family meals and desserts. My favorite part of the experience was definitely the staff. They were so sweet, professional, and had great humor - we were cutting up just talking about our days. Despite how busy they were, they made time to come check on us and make sure everything was okay. Major kudos to those ladies! For my lunch, I ordered the half soup half sandwich combo. Their soup of the day was broccoli cheese and I selected a turkey bacon ranch as my sandwich. The portion size for the soup was very generous - a big old cup full of warming, creamy, cheesy soup goodness. I enjoyed the large broccoli florets, even though I had to dig down to the bottom to find them, hehe. The side of cornbread was a little dry but that wasn't anything a little soup dip couldn't fix! My sandwich was good, too, though not quite as good - the bacon was cooked perfectly, though I personally would've liked a little more ranch and also for the portion size (only of the sandwich) to be just a little bit larger. I took home a slice of strawberry pretzel salad for dessert later, and it was lovely. The dessert is always super sweet, but this one struck a nice balance and didn't overdo it like some other attempts I've sampled at different restaurants. I have to say, this is one of the more interesting lunch spots I've stumbled upon during my time down here. I ordered a humble egg salad sammy with the cornbread salad side, and was impressed. Mind you, what could go wrong with egg salad? That was an east lob on my part. The cornbread side was interesting. This was the greatest find for our trip from Memphis to Atlanta. First and foremost the staff was awesome ans so friendly. Walked in and heard someone mention strawberry pretzel salad. I was hooked. Great lunch selection from scoops of different kinds of chicken salads to fresh deli sandwiches to just sides. My lunch was awesome, husband got ham sandwich on sourdough and potato salad . Looking at the online reviews I saw repeatedly "Love their chicken salad". I asked a few coworkers what they get and they all said "Chicken salad, it's the best". Ok so I'll get the chicken salad. But I warned a coworker...I have high expectations for chicken salad in general because Momma sure makes some good chicken salad. However, I've never really had GOOD chicken salad from a restaurant. Chicken salad sandwich on whole wheat you were delicious. The chicken salad is unlike others I've had at restaurants. It appears to be only a mixture of mayo, chicken, and pepper but when you bite into it more flavors show up to the party. The chicken is big, chunky, pulled pieces that are moist and tender. It really is peppery, more so than I've ever had in chicken salad and very enjoyable. I'm not sure what the other secret, invisible-to-the-eye flavors are but the concoction is perfect to give chicken all the flavor it needs. Those who hate fruit, nuts, and chunky vegetables in their ckn salad would love this version. The bread was like a soft pillow of whole wheat. Definitely fresh! The sandwich was hearty for the $4.85 price. My wife brought me a carry-out order for lunch. I asked her for the chicken wrap and surprise me with a side or the delicious strawberry cake. She got me the Strawberry pretzel salad as a side so she skipped the cake. Overall this was very delicious. The chicken wrap had nicely grilled chicken, spinach, cheese, some sort of mayo (maybe a pesto mayo or something because it didn't look like straight mayo). It was very delicious. Same for pretzel salad. The topping wasn't jello or sliced strawberries, but it seemed like a nice fresh strawberry topping made with cooked, fresh strawberries.the pretzels were crunchy too. If I had one thing I would improve would be the presentation of the pretzel salad. It didn't fill the container it was in but looked like it once occupied the voided sections of the small plastic container. Did somebody eat the other part of my delicious side? I asked my wife and she said she hadn't. I was a little saddened because I sure would have liked another bite or two..especially since the wrap and a side was $8.50. My fiance and I were driving around looking for a place to eat on the way out of town and came across "Let's Do Lunch". We approached the door, but it was already closed for the day. As we headed back our car, the owner came and offered to let us in, despite being closed. The owners were extremely friendly, offering to let us eat in the dining area. The food was fantastic: tuna salad and chicken salad sandwiches on the BEST bread (homemade sourdough). The fruit tea was delicious, as well. I recently decided to try this small restaurant near downtown Decatur. Pros: cozy atmosphere. I felt like I was eating in a friends kitchen. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Cons: the food was just average. I had the turkey bacon ranch and it tasted like something I would make in 2 minutes at home. My friend had the cornbread salad and egg salad sandwich and both were very dry. Took a coworker here several weeks ago, he is new to Decatur and didn't know this place, which I consider to be one of the best kept secrets in Decatur. Two things they do exceptionally well, IMHO: chicken salad and the poulet. Both are seriously the best I've ever tasted. Get the chicken salad sandwich and make sure you arrive early enough on Fridays to get the poulet. The waitress told me, kiddingly (I think?) that they almost get into bidding wars for the last serving of poulet on Fridays.
