It's sort of like a fast food restaurant in you order the food at the front counter. However, they do bring it to you. I ordered the Urban Cowboy Sandwich with the Hot Cheddar Pasta. My girlfriend got the Veggie Quesadilla with Shrimp. She had the orange roll as a side. We both had fountain drinks. The atmosphere is kind of generic but there were plenty of seats and mostly country music playing. My Urban Cowboy sandwich was a steak strip sandwich with some peppers and a tangy orange sauce. It was really tender, with no fat, and served on a toasted roll. The Hot Cheddar Pasta is a variation on Mac and Cheese but so much better. It looked like ziti-style noodles with lots of cheddar cheese. Both were excellent choices and I highly recommend. My girlfriend liked her Veggie Quesadilla with shrimp too but had to take half of it to go. The front counter folks did provide a takeout box. It is a little pricey compared to fast food restaurants but the quality is very good and worth it. The price for both our meals with drinks was around $40. I'm surprised this restaurant doesn't have more business but perhaps it's fairly new. I highly recommend and would go again when I am in the area. It has a nice atmosphere and the food is well prepared and fresh.

I think it's technically a dairy bar, of which there are several remaining in the north Alabama / southern TN area - a few of which are also, somewhat confusingly, named Kreme Delite. However, the other dairy bars I've visited have slightly more extensive menus than this one (usually including chicken tenders, burgers, and other typical fast food items, though usually done better than a McDonald's or Burger King). This location only offers ice cream (soft serve) creations and hot dogs. Limited options if you want a real meal. On this visit, however, I just wanted a treat. They have soft serve in scoops or cones, milkshakes, and I believe soda floats. You walk up to counter and order while staff waits on you at a window. There isn't really any seating that I recall; I ate in my car. That said, service was supremely bubbly and nice -- the young woman who took my order was very friendly and warm. My order was prepared quickly. I got a cup of vanilla and chocolate soft serve swirl. I didn't want it to be completely plain so I got crumbled Reese's cups on top. The pricing is a little...confusing, I guess. A small cup of ice cream is $2.94, which given the size of the serving, is extremely generous. However, to add any toppings, it's $1.88 for each topping. This seems like a lot for crumbled Reese's. It was a LOT of crumbled Reese's, so I guess not completely incongruous pricing, but personally I'd prefer a small smattering for like .99 cents rather than a veritable candy bar on top of my ice cream for almost $2. Idk, maybe that's just personal preference. Anyway, my MASSIVE treat was decent! I have a strong preference for fattier, denser ice cream as opposed to soft serve, but for what it was, the vanilla and chocolate both were fairly flavorful. They were also both quite smooth, as good soft serve should be. I enjoyed the pile of crumbled Reese's cups on top. Personally, I don't think I liked it well enough that I'd return with any particular regularity, but that's probably more a personal preference than anything. If you like soft serve treats, I imagine this place would do the trick quite well.

Absolutely amazing service and food! It was so good so delicious and perfect atmosphere. Best value…read morefor the money!

She enjoyed two lovely cups of their coffee and then I think water, and I had some vino since she was driving. We split a 10 ounce filet mignon (which is not on the lunch menu but is available if you ask for it) and it was beyond delicious! I trusted our excellent server (I think her name was Holly) to select the cut of meat for sister and me from the butcher shoppe, Corkshire, and it was beyond excellent!! It was just as good, if not better than the filet I split with my Sorority Sister when we came here for my birthday in February! Sister and I also shared their take on a bruschetta. It was good; however, for me, it was the "weak link" - I like a traditional bruschetta with buffalo mozzarella, balsamic, fresh ripened tomatoes, etc., and this was more akin to a charcuterie board on toasty bread slices. It looked beautiful! The meat topping was plentiful and lovely, it had more fat on it than I care to have. There was a sort of berry relish on another layer and that's where I called it quits on the bruschetta. My sister did enjoy it, though, which is what mattered! We ordered two mac and English cheddar cheese fritters for Sister, and she really really loved those! They were presented wrapped individually in their to go box, to keep each one warm, and again, Sister, loved them! Neither of us had room for desert which, since Salty Cod has a separate bakery/gelato shoppe, would have offered some delicious options! Thanks, Salty Cod, for another memorable, relaxing birthday celebration!

This is a small little bakery; technically they have daily lunch specials but there's very limited seating so it's more of a grab-and-go type of spot. They also have premade dishes in tall coolers if you want to take and reheat something as an appetizer or an entree. Great for on the go engagements or as a quick fix for a family that needs feeding. There's also a selection of packaged breads made in-house and a dessert case. The service was extremely nice! I had a lovely chat with one of the employees. The only major complaint I have was that the store smelled really weird and unpleasant when I visited. I have NO idea what it was from -- I couldn't place the smell. Maybe a dish I don't like? Maybe the yeast for the bread? Not sure. It looked clean and had a good health code score, but the smell was rough. At any rate, I grabbed a slice of strawberry pretzel salad for right then, as well as a slice of Elvis cake (iirc) and a snickerdoodle. The strawberry pretzel salad had a pretty strawberry jelly top and was packed with lots of cream cheese filling! It was good, though I do wish there had been a thicker pretzel crust; sometimes I felt like I was mostly eating pretzel crumbs instead of an actual bottom of a layered dessert. Still, definitely yummy! Hubs and I enjoyed the Elvis cake later. It was super moist and sort of reminded me of a hummingbird cake. My snickerdoodle was special (peanut butter snickerdoodle? Coffee snickerdoodle?). It was a unique combo of flavors that you don't typically see but sadly I'm far enough removed now that I've forgotten exactly what. Regardless, it was good! Stop by and treat yourself sometime!

Along for the ride in my favorite sister's quest for the best locally made sourdough bread, we visited Suzanne's last month. It's small, and I think it may have had 2 little bistro style tables inside, but it may have had 3. There are several refrigerators on the floor with grab and go items such as a ground beef-based "John Wayne casserole," pimento cheese, various casseroles, maybe a 3-bean salad, chick salad, broccoli salad, and more. A stocked confection counter is where you order and pay. They had really cute Halloween cake "pops" for sale and their "sour dough" bread was on a small display on the right as you enter. They offer hot lunch specials daily Tuesday-Friday, 11-2 and a soup of the day at 6.49, ranging from said John Wayne casserole to chicken poulet and stuffing. We missed the lunch window and didn't purchase any of the grab and goes. The staff here are patient and friendly! Really nice! Sister and I each got a loaf or 2 of the sourdough, sister tried one of their confectionery items and said it was good. I also got two of their giant chocolate chip cookies for the hubs. The unanimous verdict on their sourdough bread is it is a good bread, especially for toasting; however, sourdough it is not. The bite I had was sweet and fluffy. Hubs and sister agreed it was delicious bread, just not sourdough. So, it's back to Publix for sourdough. Don't plan to eat in if you go to Suzannes, I told sister, "I guess most people get their lunch to go and eat it in the car, parked here, or back at work." Thanks, Suzzane's! I'm happy to have visited your shop and to see all you offer!

It's easy walking distance from the square and I enjoyed wandering a bit on my way over. Parking is street parking but I didn't find it too challenging, at least on a week day. The inside is showing its age but was clean enough. The restaurant is a little narrow and cramped though. One of the waitresses spoke to me loudly from where she was seated at a table near the back of the restaurant and told me to sit where I liked. She brought me a menu shortly after. The menu is somewhat limited, with basic breakfasts and lunches, to include omelets, biscuits, hamburgers, club sandwiches, etc. I like a simple menu done well. It was a little early for lunch, so I wound up ordering two scrambled eggs, which comes with biscuits and gravy or toast with grits. Any other side is basically a la carte, which isn't necessarily my preference but ultimately the pricing comes out to about the same as if you'd had a more extensive meal combination, so I suppose it works out nicely for those who want smaller, simpler breakfasts. I don't care for biscuits and gravy so I ordered toast and grits, then added on bacon and an order of hash browns. Sweet tea to drink. My meal was ~$15 when all was said and done, which I think is acceptable. The inside of the diner is kind of echo-y. Three other patrons were inside, all seated at different tables but all conversing with each other rather loudly (and seemingly not eating anything??) the entire time I was there. This isn't WSD's fault and I don't hold it against them, just want to make others aware of the atmosphere in case they're looking for an extra quiet location to eat. Service was adequate; not super friendly and more reactive than proactive (eg, no one ever came to check if I liked my food okay or if I needed a refill; pretty much the only time I got any attention once my food was dropped off was when I stood up to walk to the register). But they weren't rude or anything and my food came out in a timely manner. I didn't need anything special so it worked out. My food was okay. The toast was cooked well but wound up a little soggy somehow. I don't like grits much but I gave these a try; they weren't bad as far as grits go. The bacon was cooked fairly well. The hash browns were my favorite part and were actually quite crispy, which is how I like them. The eggs were the weak point and were fairly unevenly cooked, with some bits being thin and crispy and others so runny even I was a little skeptical (and I like my scrambled eggs on the softer side). The sweet tea was also a little watery. I'd give the food a 3.5/5 overall. Decent place for a local diner meal.

Arrived at 1:15 (door and Google said they closed at 2). Disappointed that this "diner" didn't have soup on their limited menu, but after a quick glance at the menu ordered a simple cheeseburger and fried bologna & cheese sandwich. My GF asked if they could do grilled onions on her burger, and got an grunted "we could do that". The server then asked whether we'd like chips or hash browns with our sandwiches and we opted for chips. I added an iced tea. The food was dropped off (still not a smile or welcoming word spoken). The smallish burger was slightly larger than a McDonald's single burger and the bologna sandwich featured a single 1/8" slice of bologna and a single slice of Kraft American cheese. The burger was reportedly fine and my sandwich was something my 4 year old granddaughter could've prepared. It was explained that the chips were additional (we didn't ask for them, they were casually offered). Never implied that they were an add-on. The unhappy server spent the entire time which we were there (20 minutes total) with her jackets on and bag on the table, staring at us to finish this subpar, overpriced, lunch. I am not one to slam a small business (see my 200+ reviews). My recommendation would be to chose ANYWHERE ELSE to support in Athens. The attitude was poor, the food below average in quality and low on the value scale. Really a bad experience overall. These ungrateful folks don't deserve your time or money.
