Soggy lettuce

Service sucked. I'm just throwing that out there. The staff was screwing around in the kitchen and the girls at the counter were not paying attention to people at the counter picking up to-go orders. There was a total of 3 tables with people, including us. So a total of 6 people. They got our order wrong, gave us someone else's order, and then the wrong order they gave us was also wrong from the other person. The manager was in La-la land just walking around. He needs to pay attention to what the staff is doing. My wrap was over grilled and the lettuce was gross and soggy. I do not recommend the chicken avocado wrap... yuck. The pastries are yummy. That's why I gave 2 stars.

Delicious food, friendly service, and casual elegant ambiance. Lovely outdoor seating area, Extensive made-to-order menu and also many grab-and-go selections.

This was my first time coming to Edgar's. They have a huge area indoor and outdoor for seating and they do a great job of spacing the tables out. When I walked in the king cakes caught my eye - tis the season. Then I was drawn to the cakes in the case. They were beautiful. They had something I have to come back to try - cheesecake on a stick. They also had packages of chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate covered Oreos, macarons, and more. I came for breakfast. I ordered the spicy eggacado sandwich and a small mocha with almost milk. Both were great. The breakfast sandwich had the perfect amount of spicy. I will definitely come back to try some of their baked items. Their orange rolls and pecan rolls looked amazing.

Overall: Good food, great pastries, good coffee. Atmosphere is casual with lots of seating both in and out. Pros: - Food is delicious with lots of healthy and unhealthy choices. - Desserts are delicious! - Service is friendly - Restrooms are nice - Outside area is nice during nice weather Con: - Also the service, it seems that it was always hard to get some ones attention. - Did not pay a lot of attention to dining room when I was there. Lots of unbussed tables and napkin/straw/everything location for what you need was lacking and missing. Had to ask for a lot (which leads back to bullet one) What did I get: We got the chicken Salad sandwich with chips and fruit (two different types). Was delicious but croissant was on the cusp on not being fresh anymore. Would I go back: Yes I would go back, especially for the desserts. They have a lot of great desserts and a great to-go market!

We have ordered cakes there a number of times but we're finding that their quality is starting to slip considerably. We just got a Lemon Cake for daughter's birthday. We were told that cake didn't need refrigeration so we didn't. We picked it up later afternoon, kept it in our home for an hour or so, and then went out to dinner. When we opened the cake, everything had collapsed (see pictures). Response from management, "there is nothing we're going to do." Be advised if you're ordering a cake from them.

IG vs reality, orange dreamsicle cupcake (still yummy, tho.)

I want to like Edgar's more. I really do and I'll keep trying. But it's easy to get overwhelmed either in this store (seemingly always busy and the waitstaff harried and annoyed) or online. They offer a wide selection of pastries, cakes, cupcakes, petit fours and sugar cookies (I'm likely forgetting something), takeaway lunch items and drinks, gifts and specialty items like local honey. I've never eaten in the cafe because....pandemic...so only order-ahead and pick up. 1) The chocolate decadence cake I ordered for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary was totally lopsided. I didn't realize this until I plated it on a cakestand. The cake was delicious and I decorated it with a topper to distract the eye but for an expensive cake, you'd expect a straight cake. (I went to pastry school but was trying to save myself the stress of creating a beautiful anniversary cake.) 2) I follow Edgar's on IG and was immediately hooked when they posted a photo of orange dreamsicle cupcakes, so I ordered four for my birthday. (I'm gonna post a photo.) My son had his hair cut the day of our pickup and I even mentioned them to the hairdresser who said she used to work for Edgar's and she'd never even heard of orange dreamsicle cupcakes. Plot thickens. I was hungry when I picked them up so I bought an apple turnover and it was delicious. BUT! Upon plating the cupcakes for my birthday, I was certain I had picked up the wrong order. They looked....much unlike the photo on IG. Tasted delicious so I guess looks can be deceiving. What's my point? Maybe I'm ordering the wrong things and post-pandemic, I'll definitely try the cafe. But so far my conclusion is: tastes great but doesn't match the advertising and promotion.

This is just like the Edgar's up in Providence. Lots of pastries, some sandwiches, and quiches. They have smoothies, and coffee. Salad too, I think. Indoor and outdoor dining tables. Lunch here was a pleasant experience for my wife and me. I think they are closed Sundays.

Delicious quiche and salad. Edgar's is one of my favorite Huntsville restaurants. Don't forget to try their delicious cinnamon rolls.

Edgar's newest Huntsville location! Large cafe with plenty of seating inside & out. Tons of parking in the lot out front. Located at the corner of Airport Rd and the Parkway. Definitely try the strawberry cake, you won't be disappointed!

I've followed loosely since the early days and have always been impressed by the beauty and diversity of the products, and I am pleased that this business has found a permanent brick and mortar home. It's clear that it's very, very popular, as they still sell out of product many days of the week even several years in. This business is veteran-owned as well. However, I've now tried this place 3 times and I just have not been a huge fan of the pastries themselves on any visit. I've held off on writing a review for years because I thought it was something wrong with me or I just got unlucky, but I suppose I have to face the music eventually, lol. Pros: the inside is beautiful! There's not a ton of seating but it's neat as a pin and nicely designed. There's more seating on the patio. Unlike some of the other less positive reviews, 2/3 visits I had lovely interactions with the employees! This most recent visit in particular, the young man working was very friendly and upbeat. My very first visit I remember the staff being a little standoffish, but that was way back when the business first opened and I'm sure opening jitters were still going on. This time, I came with a friend from out of town to catch up before he needed to head back home. We arrived about 2 hours before closing; they were down to 2-3 items each for about 2-3 different types of pastry. My friend just got a coffee; I ordered an almond croissant to eat while we sat, and a chocolate torsades (chocolate puff pastry twist) for later. Of note, the coffee menu is very basic and purist here -- you won't be finding seasonal specials or syrups, just cappuccinos, espresso shots, etc. A little disappointing for me personally but nothing wrong with it inherently. I've had their almond croissant before and didn't love it; I just ordered it again because it was available and generally a favorite of mine. They seem to make theirs by slicing a croissant open and then filling it with almond...something. It's very thin, almost like a glaze. I prefer my almond croissants to have the frangipane baked inside, and also for it to be thicker and more custardy. Idk which way is the "right" way, but this is just my preference. The flakiness factor was good, though parts of the pastry were a little dry. The chocolate torsades I split with my husband for dessert later. It was also just okay. Lacking chocolate for my preference; also, a lot of the chocolate that it did have was still in the form of very tiny chocolate chips that hadn't melted into the pastry and created a sort of hard/almost pebble-y texture when bitten into. Again, I may be speaking in ignorance as perhaps this is how it is supposed to be served; however, this was my genuine feeling about it. All the pastries I've had have been executed adequately, but I just haven't been quite as wowed as many others. This could certainly just be a tastes/preferences thing and I definitely encourage you to give this business a try and form your own opinions about it when you can.

I still like this place and have even gotten "real food" there…read more Pros: Staff are friendly! They nicely ground the bag of (overpriced) coffee I bought with zero complaints. The breakfast sandwiches and BLT are decently executed, but I'm REALLY not a fan of their bagels. Their bread (particularly the baguette) is fantastic, though. Note: it sells out quickly. You can still pick up your to-go order without having to deal with people. They now have a cute bookshop inside. They make their own cream cheese! Cons: If I'm paying $1.50 for an avocado add on, PLEASE don't let it be oxidized and brown and gross. This makes me sad. Parking is still a nightmare. See above about the bagels. I'm prepared for the hate I'm about to get, but I prefer Bruegger's...which is sad, as I'm sure they're produced and come in frozen. Prices have gone up, but that's to be expected. I would love, however, the option to not add on a side for less moolah. I don't want their straight from the bag chips, random baby carrots, or (somewhat icky) fruit. Depending on the timing, you may be able to get a seat. Or you may be fighting a soccer mom with 4 screaming toddlers just to pick up a to go order. Still a fan, but know what you're getting.

I would have liked to have had a better breakfast bagel sandwich selection as that is what I was looking for but most of the offerings were on toasted bread.

This little business is tucked away on Gaslight Alley in Stovehouse. It took me way too long to…read morerealized the "Cutes" stands for charcuterie, but they sell that and cupcakes as well as a few other confections. It's a little shop with a small but diverse inventory of confections. There's no room to sit and eat inside but it's a quick walk over to the food garden if you want to have your treat there. Honestly, going inside didn't make the charcuterie part of the business any more evident - it looks like mostly desserts - but I was there for dessert anyway so nbd. Service was a little cool at first but warmed up as I asked questions and for recommendations. I wound up getting two cupcakes to go (a chocolate peanut butter one and a cookies and cream one at the employee's recommendation) and a strawberry pretzel salad for right then. I'll be honest, this place gave me sticker shock pretty badly. These are very average sized cupcakes (with beautiful frosting work...but the fact remains these aren't the behemoths you'd get during the viral mega cupcake craze a few years ago) and the strawberry pretzel salad cup was also comfortably for one serving only. It was about $14, almost 16 with tip. Whew! The products were alright but nothing really stood out. The strawberry pretzel salad was probably the best thing, but it was all in very discrete layers, which is not my preference. The pretzels were completely separate from everything else and it was hard getting a bite of all the elements put together. That said, the flavors were good, though the strawberry part could've been a bit sweeter. The cupcakes were fine. I thought there was a smidge too much frosting on them for the size of the cakes but it wasn't egregious like it is at Bite Me Cupcakery at Bridge Street. The chocolate peanut butter cupcake didn't have much peanut butter flavor (only the bites with PB drizzle); personally, I was hoping for some peanut butter flavor in the cake itself. The cookies and cream was bland but not overly sweet, which was a plus. Overall, for my experience there, this place offered pretty but expensive desserts that satisfied if not necessarily blew my socks off. It might be a good spot for a quick sweet tooth fix if you're enjoying time at Stovehouse.
