We stopped by First Watch after my doctor's appointment. I have seen people outside dining when driving past and decided brunch there would be a nice treat. This restaurant is open for breakfast and brunch. They really aren't a lunch type of place to me. There are a few salads, soup, and a few sandwiches. Mostly they have lots of varieties of breakfast foods. We walked in and stood at the front hostess stand about 7 to 8 minutes. I contemplated grabbing menus and finding a place to sit since there wasn't a sign that said wait to be seated or seat yourself. About the time I grabbed menus, an employee approached the hostess stand. She said there was a sign to wait to be seated and I asked her to show it to me. She apologized for the missing sign. We were seated and began looking at the menu. Our server, Logan, showed up and was very friendly. He brought us water to the table and when we were ready, he took our orders. Dave had two eggs over medium, bacon, toast, and fried potatoes. His bacon was cooked like he likes it, the fried potatoes were crunchy, the toast buttered and his eggs perfect. 5/5 I ordered an omelet with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and onions. My dish came with greens with a lemon vinaigrette. The kitchen forgot to put the vinaigrette on. I ordered a side of potatoes. The potatoes were delicious with a nice crunch. My omelet was dry. The eggs were tough and rubbery. It was difficult to cut the eggs with my fork. This is the first time I have had an omelet that was this dry. 3/5 If you are in South Huntsville on Airport Road, please stop by First Watch. I'd had a crazy intense craving for French toast and decided I'd get some by trying out First Watch. This is the first Huntsville-area location. It's off of Whitesburg drive in a repurposed building. The inside is beautiful and there's a nice large patio, though the views are not that great as it's surrounded by a large parking lot. That said, parking is easy :^) Surprisingly, there was a short wait even on a Tuesday. I think it was more a feature of tables not getting cleared super quickly rather than an excess of people, but I got a seat in about 10 minutes. The menu is fairly simplistic and more "wholesome" or healthy-ish breakfast and brunch fare. I saw a special for lavender French toast online for my location that I wanted to try but I never got any menu or verbal rundown of the specials so I wasn't sure if I could actually order it. I felt too awkward to ask about it, lol. Service was...okay, kind of weird. Everyone I talked to was super soft-spoken, not especially smiley or engaging, but not really rude, either. I did feel a little rushed to get out, but I guess I get it -- one person taking up a two-top and what all. At any rate, I ordered my French toast, sans lavender. It was supposed to come with a mixed berry compote, but was delivered without it. I would've liked to have tried it, but my waitress was darting around so much it didn't seem worth flagging her down to ask for one. It was solid enough French toast, if quite plain. I liked the brioche selection and it was cooked well. I added my own syrup and got my craving met with relatively little fanfare. Prices were about average. I like First Watch. I really do. I've been reviewing them from Arizona, Missouri and Alabama. Their food is consistently good. Their restaurants clean and their people friendly and attentive. That being said, my complaint through all of them is their coffee. Seriously, I can't add enough cream and sugar to get the aftertaste out. I drink it, caffeine is always needed. But I will state, look at getting different coffee. I always ask and hope for a booth as hard surfaces tend to be uncomfortable on my old butt. And with the exception of the Missouri spot, you still use decanter of water. Granted they are cold, but small glasses. I miss ice. But those are the small complaints. The coffee, the big one. Maybe I'm the only one, but will call it like I see it. read more

Came by on opening day, and I gotta say they were ready! Plenty of staff, big space, and all setup perfectly to match their brand. Service was on point, and the food was very tasty. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes, and honestly they could have been smaller, which is not a bad problem. Also had the regular coffee and it was fine, plus free this week. Good location and properly prepped from day one. Looking forward to trying more of their menu, especially once they get mimosas and sangria available. read more

I'm so glad there is a location closer to where we live now. It's super easy to join the waitlist online. Cuts down wait time. The only thing I don't like about this location is the parking lot. Restaurant was great. Service was fantastic. Food was fantastic. I got the power wrap and order of the corn bread to try. I also tried the Pineapple Express drink. It was fantastic. I love the interior design at these restaurants. So cute with the farmhouse vibe. read more

2-hours wasted and no food. Used the online waitlist system. Received the confirmation text at 11:15. We were told it would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, went into the restaurant and was told the system was down. Finally got seated, ordered our food. Waited another hour and 15 minutes, and still no food. Several other parties were seated after us, and got their food. Maybe a one off, but definitely not a good experience. read more

First Watch has definitely improved, though this is a takeout only review. First off: just order online. This place has lines out the door pretty much every hour of the day, for good reason. The food is actually good, it's in a packed location, etc. Regardless, better half got some sort of hash (lots of veggies, he added bacon) and I got a traditional breakfast. Everything was prepared properly--my eggs were actually over medium this time, the bacon was properly prepared, the hash was great, etc. I got an iced coffee, however, that was just...I don't even know how to explain it. I think they didn't do regular iced coffee and just put a lot of flavors in there, and it was basically inedible. I think this is a great breakfast/brunch addition, just be aware that they are often packed. I'd advise takeout. read more

Sat outside on patio, ignored by waiter who wasn't wearing a name tag. He had no problem helping the solo guy who entered via fence who sat himself on the patio though, even though myself and sister were seated first and by the hostess. While the food was adequate, we had to request small things repeatedly, and were never offered drink refills. All in all? I'll give it another chance, but I was definitely disappointed. read more

It's awesome! First watch is a chain and when I found out huntsville was getting one I was excited. The restaurant is top notch. It's got a great feel to it. It's open and feels welcoming. This location is inside of the old gates cleaner location in huntsville. Staff is friendly! The food is awesome. I haven't had anything bad. It is on par price wise with other brunch places. Went around 10:30am on a Sunday for breakfast. It was about a 30 minute wait, but we snagged a bar seat in about 20. We had an omelette and a Belgian waffle, blueberry pancake and green juice. My mom thought the pancake was the best she's had in town. Everything was DELICIOUS! Good ingredients and service, even though it was packed. I will definitely be back to try more! read more

Waited 10 MINUTES to give my name for the waitlist because AGAIN there was not appropriate hostess/cashier staffing, especially for a Saturday morning. Was told 25-30 minute wait, so we went to run a quick errand. Was called by automated waitlist after 10 MINUTES saying we were next in line, then again in 2 minutes to say that our space was cancelled. That does add up to 25-30. My time means something to me if not to you. Not having sufficient staff at the front of a restaurant is bad management. Never coming here again. read more

While the staff were friendly and efficient, and overall the food was good, I have one suggestion. If a patron asks for the potatoes to be done crispy, it would be nice if they were spend more than a brief moment in contact with the cooking surface. The potatoes were cooked, but there was NOTHING crispy about them. I would have been fine with my food taking a bit longer than usual if it meant that I got what I asked for. Food was great! I had the smoked salmon Benedict -- the poached eggs were absolutely perfect, the portion size of everything was just right. I'm a big fan of the greens and the dressing they put on it (light touch, just how I like it!). My companion ordered a traditional breakfast and they cooled his eggs exactly how he liked them. We wanted to try First Watch this morning as we have eaten at one in Nashville. There was no one at the check in but a server finally told us to sit where we wanted. We took a booth, but noticed most people had no food. After sitting for a while & watching servers approach people who sat down after us, we left. Who knows if the food is any good? For a restaurant where most breakfast items cost $12+, they need to figure out service. I would have waited longer if I at least had a cup of coffee in my hand. read more

We have been to First Watch in Florida and Huntsville several times. The visit this morning unfortunately included old, discolored and cold bacon on my Trifecta breakfast. The waiter was very good and went to the kitchen to get a new order of fresh, hot bacon as I requested. He came back with another four pieces of bacon that had been thrown in the microwave to heat but the color and texture of the bacon convinced us that it was also very old!!! When I expressed my disappointment to the waiter, he apologized and said "I think they are trying to get rid of it." Needless to say, this was a less than positive visit!! The menu, food quality and service is on par if you can get seated. Their queuing is absolutely terrible. Examples: We checked in waited 30 minutes then went back to the hostess asking how much longer. She said that she texted us 15 minutes earlier. She had not. We then had to wait another 15 minutes to get seated. Second example: we checked in on line. There was a 35 minute wait to be seated. We checked in 5 minutes prior to our reservation time. They told us there was an additional 30-45 minute wait. It did turn out to be another 45 minutes to be seated. Recommend looking elsewhere if you do not want to wait 45 minutes after your reservation time to be served. read more
