This is THE BEST donut shop we've been to in a very long time. The donut and coffee selection is very impressive, to say the least. They also have breakfast sandwiches, breakfast tacos, smoothies, milkshakes. The list is long. We tried an apple fritter, a croissants sandwich, a bagel sandwich and breakfast tacos. We also got a lavender latte and an americano. Everything was made fresh and we were all very pleased. The decor is on point. Old cartoons play on silent with pleasant soft music playing at exactly the right volume. The team is very pleasant seems very happy. It's also super clean. Oh! Another bonus: They have a few games. I stand firmly behind the five stars! We will be back. Next time we'll bring the rest of the fam. Update: Smoothies are good!

I loved the hollandaise sauce on the eggs, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, but the crispy masa cakes were the real stars of the show. So decided to head over there and tried out. Once I got through the place was really nice, really clean and it was extremely packed. We waited about five minutes for a table, and they sat us down at four cedar. The server was really helpful.Brought us a menu.Everything looked pretty good.I decided to order the brisket burrito. It looked pretty good and he recommended it. I'm gonna start off by saying I got my meal about 10 minutes later. The potatoes were excellent loved. Em didn't have any complaints about Em. They tasted awesome. They were great now. On the other hand the burrito, not so much. The burrito was soggy, something was off with the meat. It tasted kind of bitter. I don't know if it was because of the barbecue sauce or what I ate about.Half of it before I couldn't eat it anymore. And I tossed it the other half. I was extremely disappointed with the meal.I paid about twenty four twenty five dollars.I believe for the meal and had to throw half of it away.Because it just didn't taste right.I didn't wanna make an issue. It looked phenomenal, just didn't taste like that. The other gripe I had was, I took a bite out of some of the burrito and noticed that it was a big glob of fat. Instead of actual brisket meat I probably should have stuck with the regular, which would have been bacon and eggs. But decided to try that.Because the way to recommended it sad I didn't stay with the eggs and bacon. Brisket burrito 2 outa 10 thats being generous Potatoes 5 outa 10 Wait staff 7 outa 10 he was slammed with tables Would I come back probably 50/50 chance to try the eggs and bacon In the picture it looks tasty but in actuality not so much

Today we both wanted the biscuits with gravy and so we asked for just that! The service is as usual very prompt and courteous and our 2 plates came out fast and hot. We had each ordered the scrambled eggs soft- (so juicy) and they sadly were not as expected. The gravy was just barely enough to not even cover the biscuits- and it was very tasty, so we asked for more, and were billed for an additional side of gravy. Again the side of gravy that was provided and billed for, was very small. So there's room for improvement there. We enjoyed our meal but definitely would have enjoyed it more if more gravy had been used! Oh I forgot to mention that one of us ordered the stack of pancakes foster as an add on and they were good. Idk if the pancakes arrived hot, but by the time we got to try them they were very lukewarm. But the flavor was good. Overall, today it was average to good food: room for improvement! Enjoy!

The flavors and presentation are personal. I ordered plantain (of course!), a corn breakfast taco with chicken and some Venezuelan flan. All were exceptional. My server was super personable and Texas friendly. He pleasantly persuaded me to try the Venezuelan flan because it was made by his mom. It does not take much for me to get weak at knees for dessert. I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on the last 5 years! So obviously this is my first time in. I walked in, not knowing what to expect. A lady behind the bar made eye contact with me, greeted me & said sit wherever you want. A lot of tables were taken. There were a couple open, But I'm solo, so I sat up at the bar. Another lady came over and started chatting with me like we were old friends, which I love. God Bless Texas! She was telling me everything is good, you're not going to be disappointed. Burgers are fabulous. And so on. Once she said waffles, I was in! She wondered off cleaning and helping other patrons. I looked over the menu, saw chicken and waffles. I was sold! A young man came over and asked if I had a drink in mind. I said yes. Mexican Coke. Would you believe I've never had Mexican Coke before. It's true. This was my first, right here at Texas Toast Breakfast and Burgers. Memories being made. To be honest, I don't drink soda much at all. I also said I was ready with my food order too. Chicken and waffles. He said good choice, it's a big Texas shaped waffle (love it) with a big piece of fried chicken. He put my order in and gave me my Coke in a bottle. No fountain type drink. Felt like an 80's Coke commercial with a real glass bottle. Feeling fancy. Since I'm solo, I put my ear phones in and listened to my own music. A little Lenny Kravitz, American Women, if you're interested in what I was listening to. My plate came out, and Oh ! My ! Word !!! Chicken & waffle big as my plate. I nearly cried, gasped, unbelievable! Seriously, this was a solid breakfast, and now I'm really bummed I've missed out for 5 years! I joined the clean plate club even though I was completely stuffed. Chicken was tender, juicy, hot and fried perfectly. Light crispy, not greasy. So, so good. The waffle was light & fluffy, but once I smeared the butter on it and soaked it with syrup, I put the chicken back on top of the waffle and cut away at both. Solid breakfast. Completely epic. Enjoyed every bite. Was in my own little world with my music and good food and an amazing Mexican soda. The service, way top notch. I felt like family. The young man that took my order, Alvaro M, totally chill with me, we talked a little about ourselves. And that I never knew this was here even though I drive by on 620 for work. Truly, great service. As a solo diner, it's nice to have human contact. Even though I had my ear phones in 1 ear, so I could still hear and interact. Had the best service, food, interaction. Couldn't have asked for a better first impression. Can't wait to come back. Parking lot is pretty large. So you shouldn't have a problem finding a place. This seems like an off the beat residential neighborhood with a lot of RV parks, and boat launching area. Like I said, hidden gem!

I grew up eating (and later making) really good chicken fried steak. So I didn't come in casual. I came in ready to evaluate. First things first: this spot is tucked into a strip mall, and if you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it. Keep your eyes open. Walking in, though? Completely different story. The vibe is laid-back, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We were greeted right away and told to sit wherever we liked. Midday on a Wednesday meant it was nice and quiet; no wait, no chaos. Drinks were simple - Mexican Coke for me (always a win), fountain Pepsi for my lunchmate. (it's always nice when they have both options) We both ordered the chicken fried steak because of course we did. That's what brought us here. Sides: Me: green beans + mashed potatoes Them: salad + mashed potatoes Gravy situation: Me: classic Them: chorizo gravy Food came out quickly, which I always appreciate. Let's break it down honestly: The breading on the chicken fried steak? Perfection. Crispy, well done, exactly what you want. The meat itself? That's where things fell short. It needed more tenderizing--cutting into it took effort, and the texture leaned dense and chewy instead of that tender, fork-friendly bite you're hoping for. On top of that, it was missing seasoning, which made the whole thing feel a little flat despite that beautiful crust. The chorizo gravy (per my lunchmate)? Solid. Good flavor. But even that couldn't fully make up for the lack of seasoning in the meat. Sides were a mixed bag. Flavor was there--but mine had noticeable cold spots, like they'd been reheated unevenly. My lunchmate's sides were warm, but not quite hot. Now here's where they win big: The service. Top notch across the board. Everyone was kind, attentive, and welcoming without hovering. The owner even came by to chat for a bit - super friendly, clearly passionate, and we genuinely enjoyed the conversation and hearing about the food. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. Overall? I'd come back. But next time, I'm switching it up. The owner confidently recommended the waffles, and after that conversation, I'm willing to give them a shot. Because while the chicken fried steak didn't quite hit the mark for me this time, the people and the atmosphere? Absolutely worth another visit.

You feel taken care of from the moment you sit down. Now, about sitting down: this place is popular. Like, really popular. If you're hoping for an intimate conversation about your feelings, you might want to snag a table outside. Inside, it's lively enough that you'll be reading lips more than listening. But hey, the outdoor seating is lovely, so problem solved! Here's where things get a little greasy--literally. First Watch proudly markets itself as a champion of fresh, whole ingredients and quality cooking. I've been a fan for exactly that reason. But on my most recent visit, something was... off. The food had this noticeably greasier quality, and I'm pretty confident they switched to a cheaper cooking oil (canola or similar vegetable oil, if I had to guess). For context: certain oils don't agree with me--they trigger migraines and general unwellness. And sure enough, within hours, I was both nauseous and nursing a headache. Not exactly the "fresh start" First Watch promises. Everything else was solid, but I can't give five stars when a restaurant's practice doesn't match its principles. If you're sensitive to oils or generally avoid the cheaper varieties, proceed with caution or ask about their current cooking oil before ordering anything fried or sautéed. Still love the concept--just hoping they get back to their roots (and better oils).
