Talk about a hidden gem in murfreesboro, this is the definition of it. I almost have refused to try Sushin just because of the options out there and Sushin is tucked away in the corner. But wow I'm so happy we decided to finally get to this place. They have some of the freshest sushi that murfreesboro can offer. Very authentic inside and reminded me of some of the places we went to in Japan when we visited. Can't go wrong with this small family business. Sushin is a mom and pop style strip mall sushi. The sushi is pretty solid. We went on a weekday around 5:30 and it was pretty dead, so I hope that was an anomaly. They have an office setup of tables and chairs in the middle of the restaurant which is an eye sore. They should find somewhere else for that. I'd go back. read more

Worst of the Worst! Stay far away from this place. Nothing here seems to be cooked fresh in the kitchen--everything tastes prepackaged and reheated, like a TV dinner. I ordered steamed shrimp dumplings and received clearly microwaved dumplings. They were the same frozen, prepackaged dumplings you can buy at an Asian grocery store. My son ordered the Katsu Curry. The pork katsu was bone-dry, likely a frozen, pre-cooked product (possibly prepackaged and imported). The curry sauce was watery and tasted like curry cubes microwaved in water, with a few frozen vegetables thrown in--onion and green peas. My husband ordered the Chicken Teriyaki. Once again, the chicken was bone-dry, drowned in heavy soy sauce, with very few microwaved vegetables. The dish was extremely salty and chewy. After spending over $120, we realized we had made yet another poor dinner choice. Very disappointing. i believe people should deserve to know what they are eating and paying for!!! read more

We dined here tonight. This time it was HORRIBLE! The shrimp in the sushi tasted sour. We had one piece of sushi each and it was not tolerable. The Gyoza was great. The tempura vegetables were very bland. Definitely not the Sushin I remember. Unlikely to return. read more

The service struggle to keep up was just an understatement. The quality of the foods just wasn't up to par this time around. It's been over a year since I had come here to eat. The kalbi ribs was a bit too salty for 5 pieces of meat costing $25. Comes with a side of steam rice, salad and soup. Over priced and not so great. Good service, nice interior, its a little bit of a hidden gem. I got an Alaskan roll and a tempura shrimp roll -- very tasty and pretty presentation. I always get the same thing when going to a new sushi restaurant and I've got to say their version of an Alaskan was phenomenal and just the right level of spice. My only issue was with the amount. 6 pieces for Alaska and 5 for the shrimp. For about 11+ dollars for each maki roll, I wish I was getting 6-8 pieces. read more

In town for work at the nearby Air Force base for a few weeks. Was feeling like Sushi and looked up what was in the area and randomly picked this spot. I travel 3 weeks of every month across the entire country, so I eat out a lot. Hotel restaurants have gone downhill since the pandemic. SUSHIN has amazing food. I got there right after they opened. Started with the seaweed salad Bonito flakes and gyoza. A hot cup of green tea and Ramune soda. Excellent. The main sushi platter was the lobster roll and the sunshine roll. Wow, blew me away, and I have eaten sushi all over the U.S. and Japan. I like the decorations in the restaurant as well, which makes me feel like I'm back in Okinawa. I have been going here for a while. Unfortunately I have to downgrade my review. The best way to describe my experience is that the restaurant is slowly declining while raising prices significantly (and I have no problem dropping $100 for a meal for me and my wife). My last three experiences have led me to conclude I will never go back. One time, the waitress refused to allow substitutions for my vegetarian wife even though we were actually willing to pay more money for less food. We never had a problem like this before. Most recently, my shrimp tempura was something I would expect from Toots. It did not even look like tempura and tasted horrible. It was actually difficult to even bite into. The vegetable tempura was tasteless and the vegetables were undercooked. I really hated to update my 5 star review to a two star review. I understand small business is going through tough times and I am empathetic. But, it is what it is. read more

Came here for the first time the other day and ordered some food to go. I was really in the mood for chicken and beef Yakitori and a sushi roll. They had the chicken yakitori and I got what I could find for the beef with onions and some sauce (which was pretty good too). We got spoiled with sushi quality when we were out west and decided to go hunt through Murfreesboro for better sushi (ex: less cream cheese more fish better quality). Sushin delivered on the first visit. It's been YEARS since we have been over here. That was a mistake. It was fantastic and I kinda want to go back this weekend for the kimchi fried rice. Moved here from San Diego and have tried several sushi restaurants in Murfreesboro and this one was our least favorite. We arrived at 4:30 and was the first customers to walk in the door. The hostess was very pleasant and seated us right away and showed us three menus. Now the food shows up and that is where it went bad. Sushi was warm and tasted dry and old like it was least out overnight. Yea was like colored water with zero tea taste. Came here to celebrate our anniversary. With no one in front of us, a clerk was processing receipts and continued to process receipts while we waited. After the clerk finished and put away her paperwork she seated us. I was taken aback at the apparent lack of urgency in taking care of customers that walk in the door. The sushi boat we ordered was large and contained a good variety of sushi, sashimi, an eel roll, and veggies and a mixture I took to be beef but could have been octopus salad. The bill was left on our table in a folio and I put my credit card in it. After several minutes of watching our waitress studiously ignoring us while she folded napkins, I took it up to the register. I'm wrestling with this. And maybe the flag was the "need help now" Ad in the window. We were hopeful when the server rushed to get our order in before a large group in the corner. We ordered some cooked food (both apps) and some rolls. Sushi came out first, which is fine. But then we waited. And waited. We noticed people including the large party leaving and still didn't have our cooked apps. In fact we watched the big party get up and pay. Finally we asked and....they were never even on the order. Ok fine mistakes happen. They did rush to get them out. All the food was ok. Fresh and decent but nothing really wow. Then we waited again for the bill. Finally got that after asking too. Watched another table who hadn't ordered leave. I feel badly that they're struggling for staff but also disorganized. Lots of restaurants and businesses are going thru this now but cope. We felt just ignored. Would have bed. Nice to offer a free dessert or some gesture of good will for their mistakes but oh well. Hope they straighten themselves out soon before losing more customers. read more

Super friendly place.. Amazing food.. The staff is super friendly they come and check on you often.. Making sure your drinks are full and that you are doing ok.. It almost blows you away to see good customer service from all the staff not just not just one waiter.. The miso soup was spot on and yummy, sushi tasted great and it was awesome to see some tuna that was not leaking pink dye and had a nice natural red tone. All the rolls where very good.. This has to be the closest thing you can get to Seattle level sushi in Tennessee..
