    Vegetable pad Thai

Been on the hunt for a good Thai spot but still have yet to find one! My family and I tried Som Tum Thai this past Saturday and unfortunately it was a bit lacking. First off I will say when you first walk in the smell of soap hits you in the face. Could be a good or bad thing depending on if you're sensitive to strong scents. I just personally found it off putting but others may like find it appealing. I will say our waitress was very kind and attentive during our meal. Other than that I feel like the rest of my experience was negative. I will say out of my family I am the pickiest eater so it's harder for me to find places I like eating at compared to them. They're a lot more lenient when it comes to restaurants we try. At Som Tum Thai I ordered the Thai tea to drink, crab Rangoon for appetizer then vegetable pad Thai and panang curry for my main course. Unfortunately I didn't really enjoy any of it. The Thai tea tasted like it came out of a bottle or can I could purchase at any Asian grocery market. The size is also very small. The crab Rangoon was ok but lacked filling. Then the vegetable pad thai was very salty, I'm not sure if it's whatever they use to increase the spice level because my sister got the same thing but no spice and she said hers tasted fine. Whereas mine came out salty. I think the only item that was somewhat good was the panang curry. I had no complaints about that dish. But as for the rest, unfortunately it lacked flavor or had too much (salty) flavor. I'm sure my family wouldn't mind coming back but for me personally I think I will continue to look for other good Thai restaurants in the area.

It doesn't matter how long it's been since I have gone to eat but all I know is I'm not disappointed! The food is always so good and the service just as good. It's definitely a local spot for me and a never fail! Apparently I lost some photos but again the food is always on point!

Som- Tum Thai is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Murfreesboro. The service is always good and the food is always fresh. I love their New York wings and Salt & Pepper calamari and shrimp. I can appreciate that their spice levels are always on point.

With Southeast Asian restaurants in plentiful supply compared to when I arrived in the Boro, I am definitely enjoying experiencing all that these entrepreneurs have to offer. Case in point, I was aware that this location had changed hands and cuisines but hadn't had the opportunity to make it down here until the other day. Although the decor changed a little, the basic layout remained the same. There is a billboard with specials next to the cash register. Not lunch specials, but specialty dishes. Most of the menu consists of Thai basics, but I found a dish (on the specialty board!) that is not one of the mainstays. The Crispy Pork Belly Pad Thai was loaded with pork belly and was savory, spicy and sweet all at once. A bit on the sweet side for me but very good nonetheless. The spice level is a 5-level scale and be forewarned it is a native spice scale, so level 3 is actually on the spicy side \of the scale compared to what you may usually expect. The Pho was standard and was acceptable without being remarkable. Spring Rolls were fresh made, which definitely taste better than pre-made. The Pork Dumplings were standard and most likely not made on site. The matcha drinks can be had in a variety of flavors and they have a great recipe. Service was friendly and efficient and prices are reasonable. A few tables are closed to ensure social distancing and limit capacity, and the staff is consistently masked and gloved. Som-Tum Thai is definitely worth a visit if you are in the mood for something different.

This is one of my most favorite Thai Restaurants in Murfreesboro. Their Lao Sausage is amazing as well as their Pork belly stir fry and spare ribs. Always have great service here and the food is excellent

This restaurant is located where a Korean restaurant used to be. I love the location since it's close by me. The decor was kept pretty much the same. It's cute. The service was pretty good and they were pretty nice. Starting off with the bubble tea, they had the flavor just right. I've had bubble tea at some places where it tasted watered down, but here, I have no complaints about my bubble tea. They gave complimentary shrimp chips and they were pretty tasty. I grew up eating these shrimp chips and had forgot about them as an adult. It was good to have them, again. I loved their papaya salad a lot. I felt that the flavor was very good and it is pretty authentic papaya salad. It's hard to find good papaya salad around here, but they got it! The ladna was also very good. The consistency of the gravy was perfect and the flavor of the sauce was good, as well. It was cooked just right. I would have to come back to try other dishes and definitely if I am craving papaya salad or ladna around Murfreesboro. Glad to have them open here.

We ordered salt and pepper shrimp and squid as an appetizer. The portion size of this appetizer was great. Not too little and not too much to make me full before my entree came out. It had the right amount of salt and pepper to balance everything. I especially liked the squid. It was fried to perfection. I ordered combo pad Thai. I noticed that it had more chicken and beef than seafood. It came with 2 shrimps and not much squid. Overall, it was delicious. The pad Thai was more on the sweet side, which is how I prefer it. My boyfriend ordered beef and broccoli with extra broccoli. It was way too sweet for my liking and tasted like lots of soy sauce. The food comes out on rather small dishes. However, the portion sizes are still filling. Kinda wish they had larger plates so I could comfortably mix my food but that's just my preference. Overall great experience. I will come back to try more dishes.

I dined at Som-Tum Thai for lunch on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at around 1:30 pm. I previously ordered takeout before when this place didn't allow dine-in and it was underwhelming. I decided to give Som-Tum Thai another try with a dine-in experience and I'm happy to say this restaurant had redeemed itself. As a Thai food enthusiast, I have dined at and reviewed many Thai restaurants in the Nashville area, thus gaining a sense of the overall quality and standards that Thai/fusion restaurants in this area have to offer. With that being said, I would rank Som-Tum Thai as one of the top. The food at Som-Tum Thai tasted authentic and fresh unlike other Thai restaurants that either cater to an American palate or cook without finesse like they are a fast-food Chinese restaurant. Appetizers: Wonton soup was pretty good. Both the broth and the filling inside the wontons were seasoned and had nice flavor. The steamed shumai was wrapped very well and the filling was also flavorful. Although tasting fresh, I thought the spring rolls were stingy on the chicken portion. However, the spring rolls were rolled well. The salt and pepper shrimp and squid were fried and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp and squid were also cooked well and not rubbery. Many Thai restaurants do not know how to gauge the salt content in this dish, often making it too salty. So I give Som-Tum Thai huge props for nailing the seasoning. I think this appetizer has a generous portion and could be served as an entree. The Lao papaya salad was a nice fresh salad that was surprisingly not overpowering with fish sauce or spice. I admired how authentic the papaya salad tasted. The papaya salad makes a nice complimentary fresh pairing to any entree. Entree: The pad thai tasted authentic based on flavor alone. However, I thought it was way too saucy and wet to be considered a traditional pad thai. I would recommend eating the pad thai with a spoon rather than a chopstick because it was that saucy. Service was good and attentive. Food came out quickly and waters were refilled often. Price value was appreciable. Overall, based on the authenticity and quality of the food, price, and service, I would definitely return for dine-in when I'm in Murfreesboro area.

Their Mi- Krob dish is simple, but addictive. No pictures to speak of since I devour the dish before I can take a picture of it. I will update this in the future. This is an hidden gem that never gets the highlight of the day.

Som Tum Thai did it again. From their Awesome Appetizers (Pork Dumplings and Chicken Fresh Spring Rolls) to their mouthwatering Chicken Red Curry, they will leave you coming back for more. And if you've never tried Thai, ask for the Pad Thai. It's an excellent beginners dish. No matter where your taste buds are leaning, they have the dish for you.

Takeout was extremely quick My food was ready in under 15 mins. The veggie pad thai didn't have as much flavor as I usually like but I really enjoyed the variation of vegetables. It had the perfect amount of sauce and is so much food for the price! The egg rolls were good but not very crispy and they were a bit skimpy on the dipping sauce. Overall not a bad meal.

I enjoy this little spot of yumminess. We continue to go back over and over for their chicken Pad Tai.
