Came here on a Friday evening at 6:30 and got seated right away. It started to fill up around 7:00pm. - 49er roll: different than other 49er rolls in the area as it has a scallop mix in it - Chicken karaage: many pieces with a fun sauce Miscellaneous: - Plenty of parking via a shared parking lot - Lots of tables for various group sizes - Good for big groups and kids

This place was busy and the service is very friendly but I wasn't that excited about the sushi. It was mediocre at best. I wasn't impressed by any of the rolls we tried and we had a hard time finding anything that we liked on the menu (strange for us). Everything had cream cheese and there wasn't a lot of spicy rolls. We ended up having a spicy tuna hand roll, hong roll, 49er roll, spicy tuna. We dropped over $100 for two people and the image below is what we ate. The place is a bit run down and old feeling, which made it kind of depressing. Seating is not comfortable. They also brought us soup with no spoons. We asked if they had any and they said no so we just slurped out of the bowl. Ok no big deal until we saw the table next to us eating with spoons. Also here's a tip: Don't order iced tea unless you can tolerate Sweet and Low. They don't have normal sugar I guess. How weird. Overall a subpar experience.

It's really great! Food and service as well. I feel like I'm in Japan. Amazing food!! I love this place's

Food is good. I like the chicken that's not salty and too chewy. The roll is simple and on point, can fill you up quick. Only 2 ladies cover the whole front restaurant, but they try their best to serve

Food and service is great and Vicki, our hostess made the evening special. My friend had tepanyaki beef and I had hamachi cheeks. Delicious!

Intimate setting and friendly service, delish bento box. Came here for lunch and got seated right away.

We have been coming here since 2011. This place never disappoints!! Always the friendliest service and every roll is amazing. Definitely get the raging tuna!! Easy parking, too.

DISH. IS. DELICIOUS! The first time I had Leichi, I wanted to go back the week after because it was that good. Service (with reservation) is always on point and food comes out quick. The waiters are welcoming and open to answering any questions. My favorites are the tempura octopus, homemade tofu, cold duck soba, black cod, hojicha panna cotta, and assorted sushi. They ship their fish from Japan, so it's always high quality and fresh. The sashimi is literally melt in your mouth. The housemade tofu is fresh and has the rich soy flavor. My boyfriend isn't a big tofu guy, but even he loved it. The black cod is cooked with sake and a must try! Their ginger ale is housemade with their ginger syrup. I'm always grabbing two cups whenever I go! The hojicha panna cotta is rich, creamy, and always a great end to any meal.

Nothing was off, but nothing really stood out either. The sashimi was fresh and the grilled fish was cooked well, though the flavors and presentation didn't quite leave a lasting impression. It felt like everything played it a bit safe. Service was the highlight. Our server was attentive, checked in at the right moments, and made sure everything was taken care of without being intrusive. Overall, a solid spot if you're looking for a quiet, easy meal, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for just yet.

Let me start off by saying: WE LOOOOOVE CARLOS!!!…read more In celebrating my daughter's 6th birthday, she made it known that dinner absolutely had to be "SHUSHI". What better place to wine and dine my little monster than Mizu??! I made reservations for 6 @ 5:15pm through OpenTable a few days prior. Upon checking in & arrival, a gentleman [whom I assume was management] asked that we be patient with service due to only having 2 servers on hand. Not sure if it was bad scheduling or if someone called out but we agree'd and hoped for the best. The Birthday Dinner Consisted Of: *Yellowtail Tartare *Dragon Roll *San Jose Roll *Rainbow Blossom Roll *Yellowtail Special Roll *House Boat Kitchen [substitute the beef bulgogi for teriyaki Salmon] *Miso Soups & House Salad *Mango Mochi Ice Cream [complimentary] Service was slow and not exactly attentive- even with the restaurant not being busy. There were a number of occasions where we just flagged staff for requests. Shout out to Carlos- this young man was always upbeat, mind, and very welcoming. He made every interesting a breeze and happily obliged with customers inquiries. REGARDLESS OF HIM NOT BEING OUR ACTUAL SERVER! Once dinner was over, Carlos stopped by to see if we wanted to order dessert. We slyly asked if there could be any singing for the birthday babe and he 100% made it happen- even if he was the only staffer to sing along with our party. 5/5 stars!!! This TY and review is specifically dedicated to Carlos. Our entire party appreciates your efforts and your high quality work ethics are undeniable. Thank you for making the birthday babe feel loved- she absolutely left the restaurant with warm, fuzzy feelings.

I returned to this spot after a long hiatus, and I was honestly disappointed to find it has…read moreundergone a complete identity shift. It has transitioned into a half-sushi, half-pop-bar concept that feels disjointed and lacks the authentic Japanese "vibe" it once had. Instead of a cozy dining atmosphere, the decor now feels like a generic bar you might find in an Asian metropolitan nightlife district--not exactly the setting I'm looking for when I want quality sushi. The Food The menu is now heavily focused on sushi rolls, but the execution is strictly average. For a place that has moved toward a specialist roll menu, I expected more punch. We also tried the Chicken Katsu, which was the biggest letdown of the night; it was incredibly dry, bland, and lacked any depth of flavor. It's definitely not their forte. Service & Value While the staff was fine, the pricing is quite steep for the quality of food and the "bar" atmosphere provided. You are paying premium prices for a mediocre culinary experience. Final Verdict Given the price point and the shift in direction, I won't be returning. There are simply too many excellent, authentic Japanese options in the surrounding area that offer better value and a more cohesive dining experience.

The meat was not even fully cut/separated before it was breaded and fried. Looked like a big chunk of calamari. No salt, horrible breading. Bad on every level. Gyoza - undercooked but fine. Sauce was vinegar, not what I would want or expect. 49er roll - ewww. They did not take skin off unagi, it was tough and chewy and all wrong. The rolls were ridiculously cut, fish was also cut inappropriately. I would argue there is no properly trained sushi chef in this location. Also the fish was not fresh tasting. Agedashi - NOT WORTH $15.00 - 4 small pieces, no benito flakes or nori and the sauce was off, it was not the correct serving sauce. Udon - broth was fine, noodles were fine - everything else, again, not edible. They must be getting the absolute worst quality chicken - it was tough, full of gristle and not handled with care, huge inconsistent chunks, it was not appetizing. Broccoli - what Japanese restaurant uses broccoli - but it was so grossly overcooked, it was mushy as were the other weird vegetables - mushrooms and zucchini - it was weird. We ordered two other sushi rolls - that were mediocre at best. Again large in size, so portions I suppose are good, but not when you can't choke it down. I would argue this is not owned or properly trained Japanese chef works here. But for the price of what we pay, I would hope a little more care and attention would be put into preparing the food and quality needs to improve. Not a fan.
