First time ordering. Mistakenly selected Sushi Zone instead of Sushi Hana. Walked into Sushi Hana only to be told they did not have my order. Upon recheck of text confirmation, realized I was one block off and walked down to pick the order up at Sushi Zone. I really hate conveyor belt sushi, but the order was paid for and ready. Looked okay, if not a bit small (I ordered fresh salmon sushi). Spent $27 on entree and what and something called a cucumber salad. Went straight home and had the first oiece of sushi in my mouth before realizing it wasn't cold. It wasn't even cool. It was room temperature. And slimy. And much paler than fresh sashimi grade salmon should be. I ordered through an online menu service and was graciously reimbursed when I called to complain. I threw the salad away. It was also room temperature and had what appeared to be fake crab or something in it. Not the fresh cucumber and honey mixture I am used to getting. Definitely NOT recommended. I recently stumbled upon this place as I am new to the area. I had a local spot that I used to always get delivered and was sad when I moved that I'd no longer be able to enjoy it. This place has become my new ritual delivery! I love that each roll is only about 4 pieces which allows me to try more options in one go! Sushi zone really doesn't care about their customers. They commit to orders within a certain timeframe (which is long to begin with) and then still don't deliver within the expected timeframe, as in 30 minutes beyond a 45-minute window. Then you call and they tell you they are delaying your order so they can deliver with several other orders, totally idiotic. First and last time I'm ordering from this place. read more

Don't come in expecting Michelin restaurant quality, duh, this is not that. But I will say that it's the best one in the area. I've been to the one in Kirkland Which was bogus, and another one in woodinville, Which was also bogus and both were more expensive. I love coming here for lunch with my boss and when I have friends in town it's an easy casual spot with yummy food and great prices. My favorite is the milk creek roll, so good! If you go during happy hour you need to make sure you confirm with the server that it has started, because they go off of their clock, not yours. Also, YOU CAN ORDER FROM THE MENU. I laugh at other people's reviews when they get mad about not liking the choices on the line...it's like cool so how about you put in two ounces of effort and delay your instant gratification by 5 mins, so you can get the exactlthe sushi your little heart desires. read more

"Fancy" rolls can be a bad sign at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. They frequently cover up poor quality or are just thrown together by someone just trying to be "creative". Not so here, all of the fancy, creative rolls I tried were excellent with cohesive flavors and textures that blended perfectly in the mouth. My only complaint is that I thought the Mill Creek Roll was bland, but the flavors still worked well together. All of the others are excellent. The basic rolls and nigiri were certainly good too, the quality of everything was high, but it's the special rolls that will be bringing me back many more times, I'm sure. read more

I was really disappointed by Sushi Zone tonight. I called in to make the reservations, told them we are celebrating a birthday and took permission to bring in outside cake. The service was very poor, may be they were short staffed, we had to continously look for our server, no attention and we didnt even enjoy our food. Ultimately we left without even celebrating and cutting the cake. My son was so disappointed that the booth I reserved had ripped seats and the material was bothering him as he was wearing shorts. I was craving for sushi one day and ordered pick up. Ordered various nigiri and rolls. The rice was dry and bland and tasted few days old. It was a very sad meal, will never go or order again. I'm Japanese and it's really sad to see these "Japanese" restaurants. Hopefully people from other countries don't think this is Japanese cus it's not. Hi Yelp...I've missed you. I'm sorry I've been away, you see, life got really busy all of the sudden. But I'm back and to make up to you for my absence, I'd like to offer up a humble review of a lovely little sushi place in Bothell. Meet SushiZone. They've been promising us this place for a long time now and I've been waiting rather impatiently for it to show up, so when it did, there was rejoicing and an immediate trip there. DOWN: kinda quiet on a Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, it was after lunch so who knows. (Please, go. I mean, I don't want this place to be so busy I can't get in, but let's keep it around...) UP: they had football on TV. UP: it's really nicely appointed. UP: THERE'S TWO LEVELS OF CONVEYOR BELT. The bottom is enclosed with little doors for easy access and it's for the hot foods only. The top is for the raw stuffs. And oh, what lovely things, those raw stuffs. Rainbow rolls on conveyor belt sushi? Are you kidding? That doesn't happen ever! The fish was fresh, the rice was appropriately sticky (and you know how I am about that), and the selection and price range pretty wide. Of note: did not see albacore, and that's why there's a star missing. The warm stuff involves your usual suspects - tempura, baked mussels, yakitori, yakisoba, and interestingly...bacon wrapped scallops. Those didn't come out until we'd paid (d'oh!) so there's no way for us to know if they're good but they LOOK good. And really...bacon. And scallops. Those two were meant to be together. Service was polite and friendly and they refilled my diet soda and the boyfriend's tea quickly. I dig this place a LOT. Still love me some Hana Sushi right up the street, but for slightly cheaper, more casual times I'll be hitting up SushiZone. read more

I just luv Kaiten sushi, granted I'm forever looking for a true Japan experience, such as, the bells and whistles of a belt sushi place that might have some of the following...computer driven menu system/electronic games/pachinko parlor sound levels/ and possible Las Vegas showgirl experience, I do realize, this is Bothell of all places, so I toned down my expectations. Granted I'm not sure who would want opt out of pure BELT fun!! Service was great, while some "Engrish" was spoken by the non-Japanese staff, all was good. What I found was, if you wanted something that wasn't on the belt at that time, all you had to do was ask for it and the staff was more that willing to lend a hand. This was the first Belt-sushi joint I've been to were there were 2 belts running at the same time, which was nice, upper belt was the "cool" side, while the lower belt hosted the "warm/hot" items. Tea was decent, I might add, as were the choices. Granted don't expect fine sushi mastery here, it just simple, tasty and a nice varied menu "hot" items that I like to see. Check'em out! read more

I have to admit that the double level conveyor belt is cool and the Hamachi was fresh, delicious and cut very well but overall it was just average. The selection on the belt was non-existent so we just ordered from the menu. They had a few rolls which featured mango but it was really just a a puree that is drizzled on top. I would be up to try it again though. Note: The Later Happy Hour is not a happy our it is a Left Over Hour, and the time we went there was barely anything and the stuff they did have was barely edible. Easy parking but it's Wednesday night. We were seated immediately. We got our water and chopsticks quickly. Help yourself to soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. Small serving spoon for the wasabi and a tiny fork for the ginger. Maybe it's just me, but I have a problem with open communal dispensers. I wasn't thinking and picked out some ginger with my chopsticks. Ugh. Yeah my cooties...sorry folks. Stack of high chairs and boxes on one side of the room. Seems more appropriate for a storage area. We had a variety of sushi and fried food. One noticeable difference is how small the pieces were. They are half the size of what you'd get at regular restaurants. Don't let my pictures fool you. I've zoomed in, a lot. The fried food looked appetizing but silly me. Cold fried food is horrible. Unless you're hungover and back in college. Here's the rundown of our reckless conveyor journey: Mackerel: extremely fishy Spicy scallop: not spicy and lotsa mayonnaise Hamachi: ok Godzilla Roll: mayonnaise overloaded again Salmon: ok Coconut shrimp: very sweet and hard Tempura veggies: greasy and cold. Food from their kitchen: tonkatsu ramen and shio (vegetarian ramen). We ordered the tonkatsu and after a while, we asked about the status. They had not placed the order because they didn't think we'd ordered that. By then, we'd had enough of bad food and we called it a day. Unexpected items we didn't try: Shumai, Tempura oyster, Bacon scallop, Fruit ninja roll, Sesame ball, Japanese fried chicken, Mango mocha cake, Sweet potato roll. I haven't had conveyor belt sushi in a long time, and this visit reminds me why not. I'm so disappointed. $25 for all that. Not great value given the small size and lack of freshness. Conveyor belt sushi with an interesting addition. My wife and I were in the area and I noticed this joint out of the corner of my eye. Figuring it was a Monday night, nobody would be there and we'd get the best pick off the belt. No surprise when we came in and only saw a couple at a booth. We sat down, ordered some hot tea (I think it was $1.50 per cup), and began looking at the belt. Since dinner was just starting the server informed us it'd be a little while before most of the food came out. Nothing wrong with that, it gave us an explanation and time to read through their menu in case we wanted to order something. After about five to ten minutes, we had already picked up some Philly Rolls, Rainbow Rolls, Spicy Tuna Rolls, and baked mussels. Unlike other places, Sushi Zone has the regular conveyor belt, but below that, there's a second one that's warm for the hot foods to maintain their warm temperatures. That is the interesting addition to me. I'd never seen that before and it makes sense. Other places will put out gyoza, fried calamari, or some other nuggets of deliciousness only to have them cool down by the second turn around the belt and then they just lose all appeal. Sushi Zone's warm belt helps to keep the food warm enough for enjoyment. As far as price is concerned, $3 for three gyoza is a bit much when you can get three for $1 to $2 at some other places. However, the calamari and the rolls were decently priced for their size and quality. Service was very good, the servers were nice, we felt like we didn't have to wait too long for food to show up, and the quality of the food was good too. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area and in the mood for sushi. I wouldn't make a special trip for it, but that doesn't mean it's not a solid conveyor belt sushi joint where you'll enjoy good sushi. read more

If you need a quick lunch spot but don't want to take out, Sushi Zone is it. Hot and cold conveyer belts bring you a plethora of sushi options.... not to mention fruit and dessert - which I skipped this round. Pay-by-plate was a new concept for me (I'm foreign to these joints!), but I couldn't complain with a $7 lunch - including green tea. Really good deal here! I looooooooove it here! Very attentive staff, very clean....including the restrooms. Hot and cold conveyor belts are kept full with tasty tidbits. Love that roll with the fried calamari (probably called the fried calamari roll, duh on me)...( Found out it's called the Super Duper roll) and the calamari "sticks"...all cooked well, no rubber bands. The Philly roll is at the top of the list as well. Best time to go is during happy hour everything is $1.50, unless they just like me and charge me less. :p I brought my little 3 year old friend Anastasia here and she loved it..."I want more shuzi and wice", she says. The cheese puffs are ok, but the sweet cream cheese buns (hot belt) are "Dy-no-mite", as Jimmy Walker used to say. Hope you like it. P.S. This place is definitely underrated! The sushi here is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch. They have a great combo of rolls. Sure there are only one to four of each option on the belt but you can have anything made to order--not complaining as I prefer fresh sushi instead of mass amount made that's been sitting all day! Love that they have a cold belt for sushi and a warmed belt for fried food. The tempura was delicious and had tempura sauce magically delivered to me once I chose it without having to ask. Portion sizes are what you'd see at any other sushi belt place so I don't know why most negative reviews complain about the portion. Loved this place and will be back! read more

I've been to SushiZone several times now and am still impressed by the food, the ambiance and the customer service. My girls grew up loving the raw stuff but unfortunately for them I didn't:-P I like that they have a dual conveyor belt for hot and cold foods but I have to admit I wish they had more selection of 'cooked' sushi. I can't complain though...their hot items includes bacon wrapped scallops, veggie and shrimp tempura, chicken karage and katsu and beef yakitori! Its so nice to have a good sushi place close to home and close to the businesses I support. They're located right off of Downtown Bothell's Main Street and what makes them even more sweeter is that they're open for lunch on Sunday!! The prices aren't too bad when it comes to the choices in this area and I love the convenience, esp when I'm too lazy to make lunch on the weekends. read more

We've been here about 5 times since it's opened. We have 4 young kids so it's nice to find a place where they will all like something to eat. The double level conveyer belt is a cool newer concept and a great addition. Items on the lower belt are pretty much all cooked and are warm. That is where the tempura, teriyaki chicken, yakisoba noodles, etc are kept. The upper belt has all the traditional conveyer belt sushi items with an identifying sign prior to the dishes on the belt. The place is nice and new and there are attentive staff members. They always ask us if we need the kid-altered chopsticks right away, which is nice. There are usually 20% off coupons in the local papers or on the internet. They also have $1.25/plate happy hour sessions which really cut the bill down. Good place, and great for kids. read more

Came in right at opening, so what I ate did feel very fresh and crisp. No complaints about quality or flavor or even conveyor belt item variety. So far so good. I was more let down by portion size in relation to cost. The pork dumplings were L I I I T L E, not much bigger than the size of a merichino cherry! 3 of them was what you got, and all 3 combined may have summed up to the size of one normal dumpling (and shumui dumplings are tiny to begin with so the fact that they made them dollhouse size was actually impressive) The sashimi was miniature also- in both the rice and fish portions. 2 were the equivalent to the size of an average one. You peel back the fish and are like "oh wow, that's all the rice you get.." and rice is one of the cheapest food too, but anyways. If that's their style, I understand, and it fits well into the model of conveyor belt, many items at once, a little of this and a little of that mentality. Came to $18 before tip, I was satisfied but not full and felt myself holding back cuz I could have totally kept going. Generally really good rolls!! They are crafted with care down to the spicy mayo drizzle and the sprinkling of the roe. better than I remember them from several years ago, but it seems the prices have climbed slightly (~50 cent increase per item if I had to guess) and the sizes are being decreased in deceptive ways (smaller bowls, 3 pieces instead of 4 per roll, etc.) I like them and I will go back. They have all the basics you want and need. It's a fun way to eat, and compared to Blue C I think you get whAt you pay for. Clean place, satisfactory staff. I'm hungry again typing this! read more

My dad is always looking for new places to eat, even if it's out of the way. We ended up here for our usual Sunday family outing dinner. We went around 4ish, right before the dinner rush. We were seated in a booth and any place that accommodates to my daughter, whether it be a kid's menu, kid's cup for milk or water, or even just providing a booster chair, they will get good reviews from me. :) It was pretty interesting to see that their sushi conveyor belt not only consisted of sushi, but there was also a "hot" conveyor belt underneath for your hot orders, such as tempura, dim sum dishes, etc. Gotta give them a thumbs-up on that for being different from your usual sushi conveyor restaurants. A lot of the stuff we wanted, we had to order since it wasn't quite the peak hour for their belts to be full of food. So all of our dishes were prepared fresh. YUM! My daughter was completely satisfied with her udon, as well as the rest of the family was content with their orders of sushi. This is definitely a sushi place to check out! read more

Okay, so let me first say that I hate seafood. All seafood. I hate the smell of it even. But my husband loves it so I end up going places with him and suffering through it. Then I heard about this place on Facebook and decided we should make the trek into Bothell to give it a shot. It was so fun! First, there was NO smell of seafood. I've never been to a sushi place that didn't smell like fish. This was amazing. We were greeted when we walked in, and from there the customer service was awesome. They stayed on top of drinks and they watched what we took off the belts and immediately brought us appropriate dipping sauces. There were sooo many options for me. My favorites were the cream cheese wontons, sesame balls, gyoza, tempura vegetables, gosh I can't even remember all that I got. I didn't care so much for the spring rolls, just an odd flavor. And I got something called "Japanese Fried Chicken" and it was rather bland and the quality of the chicken was poor. I ate it because protein, but about 3 pieces in I got a piece of fat and skin and that was it for me. So that's why 4 instead of 5 stars. Improve the quality of the meat and I'll give that 5th star! Want better quality then Blue C and less expensive plates? Try Sushi Zone in Bothell! Their service is flawless, and if you don't like a plate, they will take it back from you, and not charge you for the plate. What I love about this place is the fact you can take advantage of the happy hour, from 8PM - Close, and all the plates become 1.25! Awesome! I realize that these the plates left over from the end of the day but they still have a pretty decent selection. More clean then most conveyor sushi restraunts. The only thing I wasn't too excited about is since it's a double layer sushi belt, the steam from the hot conveyer belt on the bottom warms the sushi rolls on the top layer. A little of a health concern, and I have sent a couple plates back as a result of warm rolls, and warm fish in my mouth. Yuck! read more

It's hard to find a decent conveyer belt sushi place, let alone on the east side. This is my favorite place, bar none. The staff are so nice. They clearly are about custom service; when you pick a certain plate they'll be right there giving you the sauce that goes with it. I love the hot and cold belts! I've never seen them before! Now my not-so-adventurous boyfriend won't leave hungry. Yes, sometimes (rarely) the belt can be bare, and half the fun is the hunt, but then you just order. Pretty simple. Can't say enough good things about this place. I would go once a week, wallet permitting. read more

I've visited twice over the past few weeks; the first time, I came at lunchtime, around noon; both the "hot" appetizer belt and the regular sushi belt seemed to be well stocked. The belts are arranged so that there is a sign with the name and description of a dish, followed by the plates of that dish; I thought it was nice to always know what I was taking off the belts. Service is surprisingly attentive, considering the 'self-service' business model of a conveyor belt sushi place; whenever I took an appetizer from the hot belt, the server would promptly bring a dish of the sauce that went with it. I wasn't really expecting that, and although I do wonder why they wouldn't try to put the little dish of sauce on the belt along with the item to reduce their workload, I appreciated the good service. On the second visit, I met a friend here at a less 'peak' time at 2:00 in the afternoon; on this visit the belt was much more sparsely stocked, to the point of seeming very empty. We were given a written menu from which to special-order items we wanted that weren't on the belt, which we did, but I felt like it sort of defeated the purpose of coming to a conveyor-belt place instead of a traditional sushi bar. Then again, we didn't have to worry about the freshness, service was still very attentive, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I'm sure I'll be back again. read more

The service was excellent, I love the location but the food was really really bad. I am no stranger to kaiten sushi. I've eaten at blue c, aa sushi, sushi me, genki sushi and this is my least favorite. First of all, a double decker converyor belt makes no sense. I have to practically stand to see the food on the top and crouch down while peering through a fogged up window to see the hot food on the bottom. Next, I love fried oysters but these did not taste good. I took one bite and refused to finish the rest. Most of the hot items were fried which I don't really like. My family loves sushi but even my son was not crazy about the nigiri here (and he eats a lot of it normally). My family was not happy here and I don't believe they will let me choose a new restaurant to go to for a while. Again, great service and nice decor, (oh, my youngest enjoyed the fried chicken katsu) but overall I will not be going back here because the food wasn't tasty. read more

Still a good option for sushi takeout. This time we got 3 cucumber rolls and 1 sweet potato for the conservative partner. He actually liked the sweet potato one more. We will need to get more of that next time we order. I got the dream, Tokyo and Godzilla roll. The dream and Godzilla was from last time and it was still really good. Lots of tobiko which I'm still meh about but all together it was good. The Tokyo roll was a little bit too Saucy and the tempera Snapper on top was not very pleasant. I might just skip and get a spicy California roll next time and maybe an eel roll to try. We also got a salmon skin roll because I thought maybe a crispy salmon skin would appeal to my partner but instead I realized it was actually not as good of a spicy crispy salmon skin as other places. It actually tasted a little bit more smoked salmon and it had a really strong fishy taste without much crisp so we will skip that for next time. Oh and we will need to request they separate the vegetarian rolls next time because it all came in one box. read more

I started out really liking Sushi Zone. And don't get me wrong, the double-decker conveyor belt is STILL totally cool, but in recent months, they almost never have what we're looking for sushi-wise up on the belt. So we either wait a long time or we have to order everything that we want. We've gone early, late, weekends, weekdays...and the sushi on the top is still scarce. I don't eat a lot of the crazy filled rolls (not a huge fan of avocado or cream cheese in my sushi) but they always seem to be ready to swooped up. So if you're into that kind of sushi, you might be really happy with the selection that's available. One of my favorites here is the sweet potato roll. It's kind of heavy, but it's so delicious! And the sauce that is drizzled on top is the perfect combination. It's worth at least one try to see if you like it or not! read more

A lot of yelpers seemed to like this place, and I'm on a mission to review (or at least try) every Sushi place within a reasonable driving place, so to SushZone I went! On entering I was surprised at the decor. Most conveyor belt sushi places are nothing special. This place was actually better than some of the make on demand places I've been to. J-Pop playing in the background, nice art on the walls, some tv with captions, granite countertops, nice plates. My only complaint was that there should be more people there. This place rocks. I gotta say that for conveyor belt sushi, the fish was very good, not really a super huge fish selection, but not horrible. Their rolls are where they shine. Many selections in this department. There are also hot items in the lower belt. That's right, they have double decker belt system. Closed hot system for hot goodies under, and above it are your rolls and things. I gotta say this seems to work a lot better than the other systems places have, even the under flame system Blue-C has. Service was polite, unlike some conveyor belt places, the servers don't hover over you and make sure you're super happy, I wasn't ignored either. Keep in mind it was somewhat slow so this may vary. What I missed: More fish please! Also for the hot items you need to ask for the relative sauces (tempura, katsu, etc). I was really hoping for cream puffs. I will never again feel the need to drive all the way to Blue C from Woodinville. SushiZone is easily as good (in some ways better) as Blue C in terms of quality and atmosphere. There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said, but one tip: Don't come here around 4. There's absolutely nothing on the belt (what little there is has clearly been circling for a while) and they'll try and shepherd you out the door since they have a half hour break before the dinner rush starts. read more
