    Salmon Belly & Eel

Sushi Yama! Let me paint you a picture: First bite of the salmon belly sushi and I nearly made eye contact with the chef to say 'Sir, you've done it again.' Delectable doesn't even do it justice--it was buttery, rich, and straight-up seductive. The chicken Katsu? Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and so good it had us questioning every life choice that led to us not ordering two. Naturally, we were vibing with Saratoga water because we're fancy like that(not really). Hydration, but make it premium. If you're not sipping Saratoga while eating sushi, are you even living? Then came the Big Bang Shrimp--aptly named because each bite was an explosion of flavor and shrimpy greatness. Big. Hearty. The shrimp equivalent of a bear hug. Now, the Gyoza... listen. It was good. It did what it came to do. But we made the rookie mistake of going deep-fried instead of pan fried, and you could taste the missed opportunity. That one's on us. Still solid, just not the main character energy we were hoping for. All in all? A flavorful fever dream of a meal. Would order again with zero hesitation... except the Gyoza, we'll hold the L there while Sushi Yama holds the dub!

We love it so much here! Have been coming here for over 20 years. The sushi is always so fresh and they even have brown rice. Their tuna is absolutely amazing and ask for a side of the kimchi sauce. This is my favorite sushi restaurant. Great service, great food, great roll.

Very beautiful place. I really enjoyed the customer service. I had no issue getting my food on time and the food was good quality. Really fresh and delicious.

I was visiting my family here in Boca FL and I am from CA and my family took me to this place for dinner. My family comes here often and said this place has good sushi and the ambiance is nice. And is true! The owner and servers were so friendly and good services . They don't just served sushi is also Thai foods as well. Everything here was so tasty and yummy! This place also has private room area, full sushi bar and full Liquors. This place is so clean and the bathroom is very clean as well! Thank you Sushi Yama for keeping this place so clean and the foods so yummy! I will be back when the next time I come and visit my family.

Food is phenomenal with such great price. Everytime I eat here, my partner and I both get 1-2 sushi rolls, 2 soups, 1big dish of fried rice, and a round of drinks and it always comes out to $50-60 for the entire meal! I am always so happy to go here. Staff is very nice as well especially the sushi chefs! The ambiance is a good vibe as well- very cozy and friendly.

We went here for lunch and I am not sure why but the waiter seemed to be a big confused. I ordered hot tea and it came cold. The. I ordered two rolls (spicy tuna and eel). I ordered salad with dressing on the side and miso soup to go. honestly, the food was just fair at lunchtime. I don't know what was going on as the place was not busy. There were a lot of complaints at the table usually, they do much better.

We'd been here many years ago when one of our then favorite places in the center was closed for vacation. I have to say that this visit was better. And frankly, my husband's meal was a much better choice than mine, this time. There is plenty of parking out front in the lot. It gets kind of busy because of the Publix grocery store nearby as well as a number of other restaurants on this corner. It's cool and the lights seem blue and a bit dark when you first enter. We were seated in a booth. I had to use my flashlight to read the menu, but that's not a big problem. I'm used to doing that. The menu is quite large. They don't tell you about their specials. You have to turn to the back page. They have a number of lunch specials from which to choose. They are reasonably priced. They come with your choice of soup or salad. I chose the lunch special with beef teriyaki and shrimp tempura. I started with their salad. It was a bowl of iceberg lettuce and carrot shreds and a grape tomato. They are very generous with the ginger dressing. And we both liked it. The lunches come in a bento box. Mine had about eight slices of beef topped with teriyaki sauce along with one piece of broccoli. In another compartment were two pieces of tempura battered shrimp along with one large round slice of a tempuraed sweet potato. Another compartment had a scoop of white rice; another some pickled bean sprouts; and the last a wedge of a fresh orange. The beef was good, the shrimp just so so, the sweet potato good. And I didn't care for the cold bean sprouts. My husband also had the salad to start. His bento box had a four-piece California roll; three pieces of sushi; six pieces of sashimi; and a mound of seafood sunimono salad with octopus et al. It also had those cold bean sprouts and the same orange wedge. It was very good and very fresh. And an excellently priced lunch. I'd go back again if in the area, but I'd choose a different option. I'm sure that my husband would enjoy the same lunch he had again....

My friends and I had stopped her for dinner after coming back from the Renaissance Festival. We got seated right away for our large group and we got served our drinks. I ordered the chicken spring rolls which were delicious and had the Sushi Yama roll and the Honeymoon Roll. The Sushi Yama roll was the best one as it was wrapped in a crepe! It was an interesting combination. The service started off great but two of my friends didn't get their food on time and they were getting upset. By the time their plate's arrived I was already done with mine, and when we wanted to close out our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to wait for some time for her to return. I'll probably be ordering online and taking it to go instead of dining in.

First, I found the menu to be overwhelming and complicated to read and understand. Admittedly, it was my first time here looking at the menu, but the others in the group also had the same experience. We went for some "safe" items which were in the menu and we weee familiar with them from other restaurants. We had pad thai with chicken. It was very tasty, although a thick somewhat sweet sauce covering the noodles made me wonder how many calories and carbs there were. The chicken - thick chunks - was tasty. At $14.95 it seemed to be high priced for the portion size. The seaweed salad was fresh and a nice size. It had some "stuff@ which didn't look like seaweed, and it was tasty and reasonably priced at $6.95. The Saratoga Sparkling water had lots of bubbles and was icy cold. But, at almost $5. For a small bottle, it was exorbitantly priced. We order bottled water at all the restaurants we dine at and I know the pricing. The chop sticks were slick, and a bit diffuse to hold. The cloth napkins were not all cotton. They must have been some polyester stuff, as they were all shiny and slippery and I could not get it to stay on my lap or tucked into my shirt. It was very annoying. I am accustomed to Frette linens. KAT was our server. She was professional, warm and engaged us in conversation. She was the highlight of the meal!! See her pic. By only a 3 star rating. Pricing too high. PLUS But more importantly. There was a woman sitting at a table next to us with her cute dog on the table, drinking from a glass of water (appeared to be tap water!). When I asked her if I could take a pic she snapped back "NO". Don't think I'm a dog hater. I'm a dog lover and have one who I cherish. But management should allow its patrons to sit their dogs on the table where people eat. NO BUENO Would I go back? Ah. Unlikely considering all the restaurants in East Boca with 5star food and service.

We go here every other day, but today the soups had raw shrimp and chicken when we asked to change it all they did was microwave it and brought it back at tha point we have been waiting for 3 hours and the manager only took half off on one out of 3 soups very disrespectful they need to change that customer service. on top of everything it was my wife's birthday, so probably never going to come here again after that. after I asked to take some off on the price of the soup, I was told that we already ate the soup and I said yes because we waited for three hours. We were hungry, but we did not eat the raw meat that you guys provided us. Over all i don't recommend arguing with them because you won't win the fight

I ordered the combo entree letter D. This food was salty and I feel like the vegetables came from a frozen package.

They removed the plates as necessary and checked on us to make sure we were happy with everything. The waiter informed us there was gratuity added on our bill because of the size of our group. Reservations are required well in advance, and there are 2 seatings daily, 6pm and 9pm, each hosting roughly 7 couples, which keeps the atmosphere serene and intentional. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the entire staff and seated immediately. We were the first to arrive, so I took the opportunity to admire and take pictures of the space before others arrived. The interior is stunning, breathtaking, and transports you straight to Japan! There's a beautiful private room the back which holds up to 8 guests and the personal chef and low to the group Japanese style seating. On the night we dined, we enjoyed an 18 course omakase tasting, paired with 4 sake tastings. The four sake selections were all exceptional, smooth and refined and unforgettable, even though I regret not capturing each of their names. The meal began with one of the most delicious bites I've ever had, king crab served over a warm and decedent custard. From there each course built on the last. We tasted a variety of salmons, tunas; some completely raw, and some aged to perfection for 14 days. Along with snapper, beautifully grilled Chilean sea bass, and many other crafted dishes. I tried Uni for the first time, and I finally understand why it is referred too as 'ice cream of the sea'. The taste, texture and aroma were all exquisite, creamy, delicate and truly memorable. The experience ended with a warm miso soup, followed by a refreshing melon wedge, and a red bean ice cream sandwiched between two very flaky wafers. Every single bite left me in awe. The chefs knife skills, the precision, the presentation, the simplicity of certain dishes which still packed powerful flavors, it all showcased the artistry of true Japanese fine dining. This was more than dinner, it was an experience. My absolute favorite dish? The A5 Wagu. It was heave on earth, melt in your mouth perfection. If you appreciate fine dining, exquisite flavors, culinarily history, and the craft behind aged, cured and meticulously prepared food, Taki Omakase is an unforgettable experience that you will love from start to finish.

It was a Saturday night around 8 and it wasn't crowded at all, which was nice. I ordered a scallop sushi, Mexican roll and salmon basil roll. The scallop sushi was so fresh, and melted in your mouth. The party I was with ended up ordering one each for themselves as well! The mexican roll was simple and enhanced with a little wasabi and ginger. Perfectly bite sized pieces. The salmon basil roll was unlike anything I've ever had before. Pretty much tasted like a caprese in sushi form! Salmon was incredibly fresh, again super tender and melted in your mouth, no fishy taste. The party I was with also ordered three pieces of uni. Was $14.50 a piece, so pretty steep! However the uni was incredibly tender, very similar to butter, however the tail end did have a slightly fishy taste, but it is sea urchin so that's not uncommon. Someone ordered the tempura udon, they said the broth was a little bland, the udon were cooked perfectly, but of course the tempura gets soggy as it's sitting on top of the udon. They also ordered the fried JB roll, the hot mama roll, and an eel and salmon hand roll. While I can't comment on those things, everybody was incredibly satisfied with their meal and everything was reasonably priced. I didn't pay for this meal, so unfortunately I can't comment on the bill, but I can say this is not a cheap sushi restaurant. The prices are a little higher than average, but you're also getting what you pay for. The quality is spot-on and is exactly what you hope for when you have a sushi craving. The service was fast and they made great recommendations. Their sushi roll selection is not huge by any means, but their menu has a lot of diverse options on it. The only thing that I can't stand, but is of course very common with Sushi and Asian restaurants, is having canned soft drinks. This is a personal preference and didn't impact my rating at all. Overall, I would definitely come back to try other things!

I picked up sushi the other day while it was dark out & was able to see in as the sushi chefs were hard at work & was pleasantly pleased. The staff (maybe family, not sure) are soooo nice & pleasing. And did I mention that the price is right!! They have a lunch special M-F until 2:30, 2 rolls (they have a great list) & miso soup or salad for $11.95. Personally, I once ordered the salad & was disappointed (basically just lettuce), however, I have NEVER been disappointed with anything else. They have a pint size Lobster & Shrimp soup for $7.00 that I love, love, love. And a roll called Crazy Tuna Mango roll that is my all time favorite of any sushi I've ever had (and I've been eating sushi religiously for 56 years. It's called CRAZY TUNA MANGO ROLL. Also, their Scallop Volcano roll is delish, as well as their Spicy Tuna Tartare roll (yummy). Their Happy Family roll is next on the list to try (also sounds yummy). Last, but not least, the Tuna Pizza would be a wise try. Also, a favorite. Often I order around $40 of sushi, just for me & I have no qualms about spending that once a week here at A & A Sushi. But, I also have their Lunch special at least once a week & add an additional favorite roll. I often order a side of kimchi sauce (which, I wish they didn't charge for, but understand with prices for food being so out of control). I really didn't want to share this gem, but would like to make sure the owners do well so they stick around.
