Since I was in the hospital overnight for food poisoning, I am leaving a review for Thai Sushi Express, Cove Plaza of Deerfield, Beach, FL. On Friday, April 10, 2026, my sister, (Deerfield Beach resident and loyal customer of Thai Sushi Express for decades) and I ordered a delivery from the Thai Sushi. My sister's usual order is Penang Curry, but she said that recently it wasn't very good. The chicken tasted like chewy hockey pucks. She assumed that the chef must have changed. So we ordered Shrimp Pad Thai. It was delivered quickly. I ate the shrimp but my sister didn't. In less that 24 hours, I developed severe stomach pain and uncontrollable vomiting that went on for hours. I don't think I've ever been so sick. My sister took me to North Broward. They admitted me overnight while trying to relieve my pain and vomiting. The doctor felt it was acute food poisoning. They finally discharged me late the next day with my symptoms better though not gone. I've been recuperating before going back home to Colorado. My sister, previously a chef at a 5 star restaurant, felt that Thai Sushi and their chef would want to know so they could check their food temperatures, storage and preparations, etc. as a preventative measure (what a reputable restaurant would do). She wasn't mean or accusatory, just wanted to let them know. To her surprise, the manager blamed us for not sending the food back - but it was delivery and seemed ok. If the manager had acted appalled that cooked food from her kitchen sent someone (me) to the hospital, I would not have written this review. I didn't expect a refund or anything, but I certainly didn't expect to be blamed for my own food poisoning. Buyer beware. read more

The food and the owner should be arrested , my brother had hair in his food he quickly got rid of it so he didn't have to comprehend what he had just ate. Owner made him look for hair how disturbing and it was never about the money he paid for it anyhow and tipped. They never apologized after he comes weekly! Came here with my pops. It's a nice medium size restaurant. The sushi was fresh and good and the service was superior. Very attentive and owners came to check in on us about 3 times. I did not try the Thai dish like I wanted to but I would come back for that at a later date. I'm a stickler for clean bathrooms and it was nice and clean here. I see a them great everyone here like they know them. Guessing a-lot if return locals. That's a good thing. The food was good and tasty. I recommend this place for anyone who wants a quick bite. Not that this establishment needs my review, though, I will write... its the only place that is truly consistent with the QUALITY of sashimi and over the top customer service in South Florida, since I have consistently gone here from August 2018 to now. Excellent service and food! Got take out twice and each time was perfect. They are very thorough when they take your order on the phone. Inside looks very clean and the tables are pretty spaced apart. Upon entering, someone is always there to see what you need and get you in and out. GREAT PRICES! And they have Thai and Japanese food! The rolls are meaty and BIG. Glad I only got 2 but even then I had to save some for lunch the next day (not complaining.) I had the Thai dumpling appetizer which had ground chicken and came 4 to an order. I got the shrimp tempura roll each time which was simply delectable. We've been to this shopping center area many times -- for other restaurants and even the foot massage spa, but had never tried this place. Feeling like having Japanese and sushi cuisine , this turned out to be a very good choice. We came early and sat inside due to the very hot weather. They also have a few tables outside. It was actually quite pleasant, until a very rude noisy party of boorish people came in. It wasn't the restaurant's fault, but the atmosphere sure changed. They also didn't understand the menu and kept trying to order Chinese food dishes. I was glad when they started eating and quieted down. This small restaurant has a two part menu. The first items are Thai dishes and the second half of the menu is Japanese. You can mix and match. I started with a kani-su roll. That's a cucumber roll with krab and avocado that has no rice. It was beautifully presented on a bed of slightly sweet rice wine vinegar (sunomono sauce). It was delicious and felt very healthy. After that, I had their tempura shrimp appetizer. Again, a lovely presentation with the shrimp and veggies propped up against a fan made from thin noodles. The tempura batter was crispy and light. The dipping sauce went well with it. I'd order both items again. My husband ordered one of their sushi dinners -- the hosomaki. It came with a choice of soup or salad to start. He liked the salad with its ginger dressing. There were 3 different sushi rolls -- California, Tuna, and a JB roll. The portion was large and he liked all three rolls. Price were decent. Parking was easy in the lot out front. I came here starving and when I'm starving and I show up at a Sushi & Thai restaurant it's pretty much game over, somewhat like how the Green Bay Packers are experiencing game over today in the NFL Playoffs(1/19/2020 vs 49ers)... Anyway, that's a different story. The tuna is very fresh here and I was impressed with everything. The quality of the assorted sushi pieces, especially Yellow tail & Wahoo was amazing. I think an opportunity to corner the market well in a market of people trying to eat extremely healthy and complex carb friendly would be to bring brown rice back for sushi rolls. I'm a customer for many years now. I used to love coming here and the sushi was great so was the service and the staff. We went to eat last week and the owner was there coming up to every table asking if anybody needed anything. First of all staff was always MIA, whole owners asked if we need anything but did nothing about our food coming in late, the seafood soup we got was warm not hot like we asked them to, sushi rolls broke into pieces because they were not rolled properly and didn't taste like it did before . Also our ice tea tasted so weird we didn't even touch it. The only reason I'm giving them a 3 star and not a 1 star is because I feel bad and I hope they can change things around because I will not go back anymore . Parking is no problem so that's the only plus that hasn't changed about the place. read more

Then had a tuna roll, Mexican roll, and a roll with conch. (Forgot the name) All was flavorful and fresh. This is one of the few sushi restaurants that serve conch in a roll without drowning it in the mayo sauce. They do not have mayo at all in the conch roll I had. It was refreshing and delicious! The waitress and helper are not overly friendly, Nor rude. They take your order, keep your glasses full and are pleasant. I'm okay with this. I came to eat, and they made sure we had everything we needed to do so. I haven't been here for a while, however now that I refreshed myself on how great the sushi is here....
