    The sushi on conveyor belt
    Tippy P.

My daughter was craving sushi, I remembered driving past this restaurant once. Nice restaurant with a huge projector playing on the wall and music playing in the background. The server came to give us menu and told us if there's anything that can't be found on the belt, they will make it. Lots of protein and just the right amount of rice in their sushi. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Hidden gem for sure. I thought it was well priced for the experience. Staff were super friendly, and the vibes were relaxed. I wouldn't say it's the nicest sushi place, but very good for the price. I'll definitely go back

My new fav conveyor belt sushi place in the twin cities! We had a fun Mom & Daughter date here because we both LOVE sushi and it's so much fun to just take the plate that looks the most appetizing. We'll definitely be back soon. Not the highest quality sushi but the prices reflect that. I love that all prices are easily figured out by the plate color. And their marketing said that each plate has an RFID so they know when each dish expires and can pull them off of the conveyor belt if it's not eaten in time. Our waiter was friendly and explained that a few of the dishes were order only (not on the conveyor belt). Here's what we tried: Salmon Sashimi (5/5) $6.05 SO delicious and beautiful Volcano Roll (5/5) $6.95 this one was served hot and had to be ordered, then arrived to our table on this cute little train car. So fun! It was a little too spicy for my tween daughter because it has sriracha sauce, but I loved it even though I'm not a huge fan of spicy things. Sweet Potato Roll (3/5) $3.60 was good but not great Philadelphia Roll (3/5) $4.50 standard Shrimp Tempura Roll (2/5) $4.50 but maybe I chose poorly and took one that was close to its expiration time. It was dry and cold.

Avocado cream cheese roll on top and double shrimp roll on bottom.

The taste was good but I wish I knew about the small portion sizes before I ordered online! I got two rolls, each contained 4 pieces. Might go back again because I did like the flavor but will need to order more next time!

I have been stoked that Minneapolis has FINALLY gotten a conveyor belt sushi joint. I know they had a location on the edge of downtown/loring park, which isn't the easiest to get to and find parking so when I saw they were opening a location super close to my apartment I was jazzed! The strip mall they are in has really been bringing in some rockstars lately and giving the joint a breath of fresh air and this place is just a great addition. It just opened in the last week so I have to admit they do have some kinks to work through. I heard someone a booth over note there was no carbonation in their soda and they had someone training on my table. There is a range of options and prices, however most of the things I was stoked about were in the purple plate ($7) category which adds up fast. I do like the idea that each plate only has about 4 pieces so that you can get a bigger variety if you so choose. However if you are set on getting your standard spicy tuna/spicy salmon ect... you might find yourself paying a bit more than a normal sushi place. The sushi itself was fine. I got the edamame and was disappointed in it since it was ice cold. I am used to edamame being warm/hot. The place had a lot of people in it which is great to see. One big downside is that the booths are not really body inclusive. I am plus size and felt really squished in the booths and feel like they could have adjusted the booth seats to be more size inclusive.

I just found this place and what a great surprise! We have been to its other location and found this one is only 5 mins from our house. The food was outstanding and there was items I never have seen before. Our server Jon L was probably one of the best attentive and personable servers I have come in contact with. The establishment is very clean and spacious. I think we will add this to our weekly spot!

I have only ever gotten delivery from here. Honestly. For being delivery sushi it comes thru in the clutch. I order the maki combo every time and it is consistently good. Can't go wrong with the rainbow roll, dragon roll, or alaska roll. Those are my personal faves. Rhe california roll from here is also satisfying. Whatever you specify they follow and do a great job with that. The mis soup is good, not great but good. I'll probably definitely order delivery from here again.

My friends invited me to check out sushi train. Our group ended up bigger than we expected but the staff was super accommodating and kind. I love that the plate prices are listed on the wall as well as on the menus. There was a great variety from marinated baby octopus to the classic avocado or Philly rolls and fun options like the Mexican roll with jalapeno and cilantro. I love the moving picture wall and the place looks great! They also had a great deal going for free hot sake and they had a fun assortment of adorable sushi themed stickers! Great addition to the neighborhood!!

This place does not have the best sushi in MN, but that's okay; the food quality is better than what you would find at a buffet with a sushi station. The dynamite roll is a dressed up shrimp tempura roll smothered in eel sauce, so good! My favorite roll is the crazy roll, which is like the dynamite roll but it also has cucumber so you get a nice texture contrast with the crunchy cucumber pieces. The fried rice and udon have a really nice smoky flavor. The beef and salmon teriyaki cuts are pretty thin but the teriyaki sauce adds a lot of flavor. For dessert they have green tea, red bean, and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream is creamy and the scoops are generous. They do not take reservations. There is plenty of booth seating and a couple of tables and high tops.

My husband found Hikari first and insisted we visit. I didn't even know about Eat Street Crossing,…read moreso the whole thing was new to me. So Eat Street Crossing is a food hall, with lots of different fun food vendors. There's a "host" stand at the front, but it's not really a traditional restaurant. I think the person at the stand is just there to help with questions and directions. So anyway, the sushi bar is right in front of you as you walk in. You order at the counter, are given a little buzzer and wait for your food. We went for lunch and when we arrived, there was just one guy behind the counter. We perused them menu and ordered: a trio of handrolls (what a deal at $18), the audi roll and the hikari roll. I thought we might have under-ordered, but it was plenty of food. The one dude behind the counter was in the unenviable position of having to prepare food while also taking orders. He managed it though, and our food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The sushi was delicious. The fish was very fresh, the other ingredients also very fresh. The hand rolls were unique in that they are actual rolls that look more like logs than the traditional cone. But still delicious nonetheless. If I had any feedback at all on the sushi itself, it would be that the rolls were SO large that honestly I had trouble eating some of the pieces in a single bite. The rolls were pretty wide circumference wise and the pieces were generously thick. But they were very close to too large. I kept looking around to see if anyone was noticing my very poor sushi eating etiquette as I tried to deal with this. Fortunately, everyone was busy with their own stuff. We happened to sit pretty close to the host stand and I asked the guy there what the building used to be ... it's obviously old, with huge wooden beams way up in the rafters and lots of cool staircases running up to what I assume would have been at least the third level back in the day. He told me they used to paint big giant banners/signs in the building. I just thought that was a really cool piece of trivia. Anyway, loved the food, loved the design of the actual restaurant. I was obsessed with the graphic hanging on the wall and the cute goldfish hanging from the ceiling. My only true complaint is that the EDM music was pumped up way too loud for this old lady and her old ears. But other than that, totally enjoyable. Will definitely return.

We went with two rolls: the 2-14 and the Mishap. Both were absolutely delicious. We were ready to order more but our waiter was nowhere to be found. We waited several minutes and then decided to just get the check instead. We recently moved from a place known for its sushi so we found the quality of fish here to be good - but not outstanding and would echo the sentiment that prices are pretty astronomical. Recently, I started coming for the food dinner and realized I was missing a lot. Their menu is very thoughtful in each dish has a nice variety of textures and flavors. I will say that their Ramen is one of the best in town. I think really what sets it apart is the broth being super in depth and they grill the pork belly which makes it really smoky and tender. This time I branched out and got the grilled squid as well and it was exceptional. The soy ginger glaze on it was incredible. The only few downsides I think I've noticed is service can be a little bit hit or miss which is surprising how small the places. Even when sitting at the bar, it took a little bit to get their attention. Also, I've tried a few of the cocktails and for the main part they just taste like alcohol with a soda. They sound extremely creative on the menu, but the balance isn't there. Either way I've typically gotten sake as they have a nice little selection. Overall, I love the whole vibe of this place. I always enjoy being able to see people make sushi. It's very open yet. Doesn't get overwhelmingly loud. Definitely my top three Japanese spots in Minneapolis.

I am SO torn on this review. Here's the breakdown:…read more Menu: Their menu options are so awesome. Authentic Japanese food, tons of options, and lots of fun stuff. Drinks: The Last Samurai cocktail & the Imposter Among Us mocktail were both delightful. Love the unique drink options, and the two we had were executed beautifully. Sushi: Unfortunately, the sushi was a bit disappointing. We had the hotate yuzu, Suzuki oshizushi, tamago nigiri, and the futomaki. The rice was unfortunately undercooked, and also too lightly seasoned. The tamago was alright, the futomaki was very good though. Dessert: The yuzu custard - one of my favorite desserts I've eaten in a long time. Definitely the best thing we had and I would absolutely get it again. Service: Our service was pretty good. I did watch one of the other servers grab soup spoons by the part you eat from and then bring them to a table which was concerning. Note: For anyone with dietary specifications: they offered gluten free soy sauce, and the custard was a vegan dessert and it was delightful.
