I was excited to try Sushi Sake ever since I heard it was opening. I finally went and ordered a crunchy role and some fried rice. The crunchy role was good and the fried rice was AMAZING! I'll probably order often since they are only a block away from me. The restaurant is small but it looks very nice. Of course you can't have a restaurant in Hialeah without some servers that look like straight up chongas. One girl in a denim outfit and another one in tights sandals she probably bought at traffic... yet all the guys are dressed in pants and a dress shirt. Worst customer service ever. Staff is not professional at all. No management. I went last night at 10:15 pm and they refused to sit us down. They kept claiming that the place was closed, even with the open sign still on. business Hours on their website said they were still open until 12 am. Worst experience. I've been meaning to try this place since I got back in town and today was the day. I'm allergic to shellfish so that narrowed down my options significantly. I ordered an iced tea ($2.50) and started off with 2 salmon sushi ($3/ea). You get 1 piece per order, not 2 as I was expecting. It was good, plenty of rice on the sushi and it stayed together well. I'm quite the connoisseur when it comes to salmon sushi and I have to say that this one was not as good as Shima's salmon sushi. Moving on. I also ordered the Hialeah fried rice ($14). Hialeah Fried sounded good. It has shrimp, steak, chicken, pork, platanos, and a fried egg on top. I ordered it without shrimp. Hialeah - Ciudad de Sabor indeed!!! That rice was fantastic. It is served with a yellow shrimp sauce. It was an explosion of flavor. Finally, the last thing I ordered was the bagel tempura roll ($8). If you like the tempura breading or fried part (not sure what it's called), you will like this roll. When I saw it, I thought, "Wow! This is really bready!" It fills you up fast. I've dined in and ordered delivery from this location many times and it never improves. Delivery sucks, many times they won't even answer the phone. When they do they put you on hold for a long time and then take an hour to deliver a block away. The sushi is not fresh, the noodles in the Ramen soup are hard, the fried rice taste like the rice is old, and the chicken katsu has no taste. Also, they are always full staffed but the servers spend more time talking to each other than actually serving. Would not recommend this location. read more

My favorite local sushi place is closed due to the pandemic so decided to order from this place as I've heard their fried rice is similar to the one I order from my usual place. Big mistake, the rice had chunks of carrots that were still hard, meat with full hard fat on it that I had to spit out more than once. I was so disgusted half way through I stopped eating it. The tuna tataki was like 5 pieces of really thin cuts of tuna with only pieces of scallions. The roll that I purchased for almost $20 was no different than one you pick up at Publix. I placed my order for pick up at 1PM with Erika and was told 30 minutes wait. I understand it's lunch and things may get busy. I have now been waiting an additional 30 minutes in store for two rolls and an appetizer. This is inexcusable and poor time management on the cooks and managers behalf. WORST SUSHI SAKE LOCATION! Food is below average. Food wait time for dine in is at least half hour & take out normally around an hour or more. The food never tastes fresh & sometimes it's overcooked. I recently ordered a volcano roll & shrimp fried rice, there's normally no fish in the volcano roll & this time they laid a piece of smelly discolored fish on top. I never like writing negative reviews, but I feel like this needs to be said in order to ensure a more positive, prosperous future for Sushi Sake. That being said, I placed an order and waited. One hour. When I came in to ask what had happened, the girl said "it's been ready for a while but I didn't notice you." You had my number jotted down, you couldn't have given me a call or gone outside to see me waiting? Customer service should always be at the forefront. However, I've also found that the service at this particular Sushi Sake is always subpar, and unfortunately today was no exception. The host was nice, but our waitress was dismissive and rude. It took us a while to receive our food, which doesn't usually bother me, except that I saw the roll we had ordered sitting on the counter for 10 to 15 minutes before the waitress finally decided to bring it out to us. I had commented to her earlier that I'd wanted to order more food but that I'd decided against it because my friend and I were on a time crunch, which for some reason seemed to bother her. To clarify: I'm only giving this location 1 star because the service was so terrible & immature. I came here for lunch with a friend of mine, she ordered fried rice and I ordered a sushi roll. She got her rice and I didn't get my roll until she was basically already finished with her rice like 20 minutes later!!! It was terrible and then when we asked the waiter why it took so long, he said "the chef was just messing around back there." We couldn't believe it. Needless to say, I won't come back to this location.
