I really enjoyed my to-go order from Blue Ginger. We ordered 1 JB Roll 1 JB Tempura Roll 2 Tuna Crispy Rice and 1 Bowl of Tofu & Vegetable Pad Thai. Service: The service was impeccable. The woman we spoke to on the phone to put in the order was so kind. She gave us her recommendations and she even added a side of spring rolls to our order for free! When we asked for extra sides of soy sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo she gave us four of each! Food: The food was delicious. I love trying every restaurant's version of Tuna crispy rice, and theirs was very unique. They had a whole circular bed of crispy rice, and big scoop of spicy tuna, avocado, and masago on top. It was the perfect amount of spicy and crispy. The sushi rolls were really good too. I accidentally got my JB roll as it comes vs. inside out, which I normally do because the seaweed tastes too fishy, and for once, this one didn't. It feels nice to see Blue Ginger still doing great even after 15 years. The the bar with revolving sushi plates was packed, and for the amount of food given the prices seemed fair. I recommend this place to people who live in Pembroke Pines area looking for affordable sushi. Maybe I will come back again next time. This restaurant is located in a plaza that offers plenty of free parking. read more

My grandson was raving about "sushi on a boat" his momma and other grandparents took him to in Miami. So his Dad set out to find a place. We found Blue Ginger. The sushi was fresh and plentiful. Small enough to sample a lot of different types. The only small complaint i have was the edamame has the garlic sauce over. It was good that way but i prefer mine plain and that never made it in the boats. The wait staff busy but super attentive. This was my first time at a place like this and it did not disappoint. We went on a busy night but were still able to be sat right away at the sushi boat bar. Menus were given which although we didn't order from it, it was a nice reference to what we were eating. Phenomenal sushi! My friend and I unfortunately got here before the conveyer belt starts (which is after 5pm), but we ordered some sushi off the menu. My go-to, the california roll, is spot on, and my friend ordered the Red Dragon Roll and loved it. The edamame is delicious, and they also have plum wine! Definitely coming back to try out the sushi conveyer next time! read more

This was a last minute decision for a late night dinner. Great they are open until later than most restaurants in the area Our server was great. Friendly and efficient Food was ok. Fried tofu was tasteless and the pad Thai was ok but unlike all other pad Thais I had there was no peanuts cilantro and sprouts garnishing and that removed some of the taste too Overall not bad but would only go back if there was no other option read more

Blue Ginger is a sushi restaurant located in the Southwest Ranches area right off of I 75 and Sheridan in the Publix shopping center. They have convenient parking right out front. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What's a little different about this restaurant is you can sit at the bar and there is a mini lazy river that goes all the way through the bar. On the river are little boats that will deliver different plates of fresh made sushi and cooked food as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The plate color helps differentiate the cost, and there is a breakdown of the cost / plate colors on the menu. They also offer sit down, full service inside the restaurant as well. This time we chose to sit at the bar and try several items. We started with the spring rolls and the scallops and then we had a few different sushi rolls and sashimi. We ended our meal with Thai donuts. The dessert was ordered through the server as we did not see desserts offered on the bar area. I've had eaten here a long long time ago, even before I was on Yelp. It's a sushi bar that has the sushi rolling around the bar on a conveyor belt. That doesn't really excite me. But they do have regular tables with regular menu. The menu has a nice variety of different things to choice from. So we started with a couple of appetizers, the crab salad and some garlic edamame. The crab salad was really good, it was not heavy mayo, topped with Panko and avocado. The edamame was also very good, it was very tasty and cooked perfect. For dinner I had chicken teriyaki, other then it being over loaded with sauce it was very good. My wife had a JB tempura roll. It had a thin layer of rice and was full of salmon. I got to try it and it was very good. The only thing I didn't care for was the miso soup. It was loaded with sea weed and tofu, but I felt like it was way to salty. Our server, she was amazing too. The sushi boats are awesome if you are an adventurous visual eater because it's small portions so you get to try a little bit of everything. And you have control of how much you spend because each plate has a price based on the color. The regular sit down service was awesome. This place gets packed on the weekends but it's worth the wait. I usually go on the week days when it's less packed. What I love most about this place is the sushi is fresh and they have the food going around the countertop and you decide what you want to pick and eat. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The place has a floating boat carousel that carries the food around so you can pick whichever sushi you like as a floats on by. It is a perfect place if you have little time to eat since the Sushi is constantly made and ready to eat. read more

If you ever avoid sushi because you want to try multiple things but can't justify the price vs quantity, this is your place. I recommend sitting at the bar with the rotating sushi boats, you can try as many things as you want (most are under $6 per plate) with a few special items but you'll understand what you're spending based on the color of the plate. We came with family and they raved about it so I had high expectations. Location in a shopping plaza is pretty normal for sushi spots and we had a wait for the sushi bar so they we went next door for drinks before with some small bites at the noodle bar. Once our seats were ready we headed in but they split our group as they didn't have enough seats together. We were able to get seats across from one another. The sushi is made right in front of you in the middle of the little river that the sushi floats by you on. It's a pay by plate color so you just collect your plates as you pick what you want to try. My son loved it, ate a ton of sushi and small bites. I really liked the small portions and options of more than just sushi. Fish tasted fresh and flavors were very good. Drawback was being at the end of the river and getting little variety as the good and new stuff got taken before it made it to us. Overall it was a fun experience and I would return if we were ever back in the area to visit again! read more

We sat at the sushi bar and there is different plates going around and depending what color it is is what you pay for . You get to try different stuff so worth it . Oh how the mighty have fallen. I have lived in the West Pines area for seven years now and Blue Ginger has always been my go to sushi spot. I have had mostly amazing experiences here. However, the last couple times have been poor, the prices have risen and the sushi quality has dropped dramatically. My visit inspired me tonight to write a new review on what used to be the best Sushi spot in West Pines. My family and I sat at the sushi boat bar as usual. It wasn't exceptionally busy tonight, so I was hoping for a good variety of rolls being offered. Unfortunately this was not the case. I was able to grab two plates of sushi which tasted fresh but were so poorly wrapped... fell apart as soon as I used chop sticks to grab them... Hungry for a third plate... I began to look for another roll... only to be greeted with a sea of empty boats, except for the ice cold gyoza, spring rolls, and Orange Chicken that patron don't ever eat. I waited five minutes or so and watched what the sushi chefs were doing... all them prepping takeout orders... Ten mins goes by and I mention to the waitress... that there's no food. She looked shocked but said I'll have to wait and that they'll get to it when they can. I counted literally 16 of the boats in a row with nothing on them. At fifteen mins... I just asked for the check, leaving hungry and feeling as though I wasted my money. Clearly the business values it's takeout clients far more than the people spending money in their restaurant. Do yourself a favor and go to Happy Fish Sushi on Pines Blvd. Far fresher, rolled better, and much cheaper. read more

I can't really speak for the service because I got this for pickup but the atmosphere/ambiance in the restaurant is nice and it was very busy for a Sunday night which is always a good sign. The food was solid, I wouldn't say it was 10/10 best sushi ever but it was solid. The hamachi wasn't the best & didn't taste so fresh and was a bit chewy but all the other food did. Took the GF the Friday before Valentine's Day! There was a 20 minute wait but we sat at the bar, were we got to see the boats travel around with many options to pick. the concept is basically you pick whatever food you want and they you pay after wards when the waitress calculatea your bill based kn the color plates that you have stacked on your table. Each plate is a different color and each one has a different value. I had a mixture of everything and my bill was about $110. This was my 3rd time coming here and I'm still amazing d by the boats! And its always fun seen a new dish coming fresh on thr kitchen and just hoping that no one else gets it before you. I definitely recommend Blue Ginger for the uniqur experience! read more

If you had offered outside only at the time I made the reservation I would not have made the reservation. Maybe look into adding that option instead of surprising guests. A friend of mine told me about this place a couple months ago. How could I not have known about this place!?! Last Friday we sat a the bar which has little boats with sushi on them floating by on what seems to be a conveyor belt.. AMAZING sushi! The sushi chefs were up front in the action and mingling with customers, which I thought was absolutely delightful. We ate practically everything on the floating boats and topped it off with what seems to be Thai Donuts with delisousness all over them. (I just got a sudden urge for those donuts) We were even able to order items off the regular menu and enjoy them at the sushi bar. The small but quaint sushi bar/restaurant even had music on!.! At one point throughout our hour long dinner the restaurant manager came over to us and asked about our experience, the food, if we would change anything... I mean seriously?!! He was extremely knowledgeable and even made some suggestions for our next stop in. The service was good.. And we think this may be our weekly spot for music, food, saki and dessert. Enough parking, great location, outside seating for smokers, delicious fresh sushi, good service, attentive manager, and a super cool feel.. Definitely will be back! This place is hit or miss depending on the night. We go often and since opening, this has declined. Service is no longer a priority. You wait for drinks or for someone to serve you. We stopped eating at the tables and now at the bar. Same service there, pick your plate which is always the same dishes unless you ask for something different, but you will wait for your drinks. Some staff is nice others are owner favorites and should not be working there. The owner is too busy taking phone take out orders which has become a big business and in the kitchen and not seeing or catering to the guests in the restaurant. Maybe time to find another "gem" and of course not the one in Miramar for the service is HORRIBLE except for the bartender who waits on you and he even gets your food for you. read more

For an appetizer, we ordered the steamed shrimp dumplings which were delicious. As for the main entrees, we had the pork broth ramen and the miso ramen. Both soups were savory and flavorful. All the ingredients seem to work together and really provide a delicious experience. I'm glad I came here to try ramen for the first time, because it was definitely worth the visit. The only thing that we did not particularly enjoy in this visit was a very foul smell that seemed to come from the kitchen area shortly before we left. It lingered on for a few minutes and honestly smelled like rotten fish or something like that. I've been here a few times, and every time, the food is AMAZING. The prices are a little high, so I typically only go on special occasions, but you definitely get what you pay for. I've tried a variety of rolls and they are outstanding. Their miso soup and ginger salad are good too. The desserts are also really good. One time when we went in for lunch, the manager gave us two free desserts - some fried banana wonton type things and something called "Thai donuts." The Thai donuts were absolutely incredible (now we have to order them every time). They also have an email list you can sign up for where they will send occasional coupons - still pricey, but it helps a bit! read more

The service was fantasic and the food was absoutly the best we have had in a long time. We sat at the sushi bar and was very pleased with the quality of the food and the service that we received. At the bar -- little boats carrying color-coded plates float down a little river. The colors represent different price levels between $2-6. The service was amazing. Our server was excellent and came back multiple times to make sure everything was okay. I would definitely say this is one of the best places to get sushi in Broward - if not the best. I'll start with the pros and end with the cons... Pros: cool ambiance, sushi boats are a nice twist to the usual sushi restaurant... Cons: sushi is subpar, service is not good, and it's NOT CLEAN. I watched the sushi chef cut raw fish and raw beef on the same cutting board with the same knife. You never know how long the food has been going around and around, I certainly saw some plates go around the entire time I was there and they could have been there for days... A lot of people like this place but I strongly disagree. Suggest Nami or even Raw instead. read more

I've been here twice. The first time it was a to go order and the sushi was good. The second time it was a to go order as well but the sushi was not great. I drove back to return the sushi because I wanted to change it for something else and the manager charged me for the one partially eaten sushi that I had tasted. The food is fresh delicious creative and well priced. The service is generally pretty good although I did think it suffered a bit because I was seated in the bar area and it was understaffed for that particular area that day. This did not affect the overall experience. The all you can eat menu is good, missing only a few items like Uni. But for the price point is beyond adequate. The a la carte menu was also quite good and unlike their other restaurant, my wife who does not have nearly the appetite that I do was not forced to order all you could eat as well when sitting at the same table. This was a huge selling point for me. One of the best things about this particular restaurant is that they serve sashimi as well as sushi. As such without filling up on rice, I was able to sample a lot of different items and I have to say there were no disappointments. Things like scallops and sweet shrimp were a bit smaller than I am accustomed to, but were delicious. The rolls were beautifully done, including a wonderful rainbow Naruto roll which I would highly recommend. The sashimi was served in an absolutely beautiful tray which you can see in the attached video. Other all you can eat sushi restaurants simply do not do things like this. Total standout in presentation. Service is excellent in food. All came out relatively quickly considering it was quite crowded that day. There was nothing that I did not enjoy completely. In fact, in several instances, I ordered more of the same thing. I tried a couple of specialty rolls in a hand roll and each of them was expertly prepared and well beyond my expectations. The dessert choices are few, but they did have green tea ice cream, which is what I wanted so I cannot complain. Overall, this was a wonderful experience. When I say closer to my home, it is still almost an hour away, but as well worth the drive and I think I will be going often. I love sushi and to find a place that serves all you can eat at a reasonable price and delivers this high-quality great taste and good service deserves my frequent visits.

Our server, Jensen, provided great service and excellent suggestions. I had an otoro version of a margarita. It came with sugar on the rim. Not to my liking. We ordered the coconut rock shrimp appetizer that came with large, meaty shrimp and a great dipping sauce. But the shrimp had no flavor and was very bland. We also had the tuna crispy rice. The presentation was lovely. But the appetizer was underwhelming. For dinner we had the cucumber skin roll with tuna, salmon, and a avocado. Again, a beautiful presentation with tuna that melted in your mouth. But again, not impressive. The standout was the curry udon with chicken katsu; thick, meaty udon noodles; and a delectable curry sauce so good I slurped up each drop. Of course we had to try the pandan creme brulee and the ube flan. The latter being the better of the two desserts. Dinner for two with 1 alcoholic drink, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, tax, and tip was $128.

They give you tons of food, enough to have leftovers for the next day, if you don't eat it all in one setting. OK, so for the negatives, I tried to order online and it does not allow me to customize the rice that I want. The description says you can get white rice or fried rice but you can't pick any options when you're ordering the hibachi meal. I ended up calling in my order because I could not get the customizations that I needed when attempting to place my order online. I would like to see a combination of chicken and steak for the hibachi options, that was nonexistent so I ended up getting a steak hibachi and ordering a side of chicken hibachi (just the chicken). Seems like you have to pay extra for sauces. We got the sauces with the Gyoza and the volcano roll, but only 1 other sauce came for the hibachi meals, I think it may have been garlic butter sauce? And it was good don't get me wrong, but hubby was looking for something like a ginger based sauce for his seafood meal and I think that was an extra cost. I missed that when ordering. As stated before, I did order over the phone and waited about an hour to show up to the restaurant. I gave them my name when I approached the counter and they told me that my order still wasn't ready, and I was quite surprised because I had ordered about an hour before. The girl did quickly return to tell me that they were packing everything up and it should be out momentarily and it was. But other than that, A+++ from us tonight, Sushi Sake. The prices and the portion sizes were awesome. I think I found a new place to order from when I'm craving hibachi.

The host took my order and asked for my card number -- not once, but three separate times -- along with my zip code. After a 10-minute call, she never actually charged my card and then claimed she "couldn't figure out" how to enter it because it was "unauthorized," which makes no sense considering no charge was attempted. She told me to come into the store instead. My boyfriend arrived at 11:20 PM to pick up the order. Staff told him it wasn't ready, but failed to mention that they never made the food -- and worse, that they had already given the order to someone else. He waited there until midnight (closing time), only to then be told that the food was never made. The manager, Amanda, was extremely rude and ultimately hung up on me when I called to resolve the situation. Carlos, the waiter/host, refused to provide the name of the original host who took my card information. This entire situation -- over a $19 roll -- involved: Taking my card number and zip code three times Not charging my card Not making my food Giving the order to someone else Making my boyfriend wait an hour without explanation Hanging up on me instead of resolving the issue It is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about how customer payment information is handled. I am very disappointed in this Sushi Sake location and the way this situation was handled from start to finish. I expect an immediate response regarding both the service issue and the handling of my card information.
