Sushi Sake is now on my list of favorite Sushi spots. Located in Sheridan but extremely happy they also opened a spot recently in Coral Springs. The Spot in Sheridan was great and with beautiful decor very Zen. Very serene and relaxed ambience. Server was oustanding and very friendly. I ordered the Lava Roll and was impressed with not only the taste but also the presentation. This trend of serving the food in these wood artwork of plates gives it a wow factor. Food is delicious and presentation is beautiful. Definitely a 10. The Lava Roll consist of shrimp tempura, masago wrapped in soy paper topped with baked crabsalad, cooked shrimp and scallops. I tried the Armadillo roll made with soft shell crab so delicious. Only thing was that I ordered no cream cheese but roll came without cream cheese and also without avocado. I would not come here again, and I would not bring family or friends. We've been here many times and have had good experiences, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This is the type of experience that should give a business owner nightmares. Our server, David, was genuinely awful. He didn't write anything down, forgot an item, and brought another out incorrectly. Mistakes happen, but what stood out was everything that followed. When we calmly pointed out the incorrect item, he complained loudly to a coworker or manager within earshot, as if we had done something wrong. When we mentioned we could hear him and reassured him we weren't making a big deal and simply wanted the correct item, he walked away mid conversation. We didn't even mention the forgotten salad. We come here regularly and spend about $80 to $100 per visit. We treat servers with respect and still left a 30 percent plus tip, which in hindsight was far more than the service warranted. This is exactly the kind of interaction that quietly guarantees people don't come back. What made it more noticeable is that there was a younger team member helping with greeting and bussing who was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and professional the entire time. That's the kind of person who should be serving guests. It's a shame, because we've always enjoyed this place. We'll be praying for him and whatever he may have been dealing with that led to such behavior, and we genuinely hope he turns it around. That said, it's an odd choice to be in a service role if you lack the basic skills or willingness to provide service or treat people with basic decency. For the sake of the business, I hope this was an isolated off day. If it's not, management may want to consider how many guests are choosing not to return without ever saying a word. read more

Wow! I am impressed! I've been here before and was not a fan. They have really stepped their game up. First of all, our waitress Daniella was super sweet and knowledgeable. We ordered the Calle Ocho roll which took me back to my childhood, going to the bakery and getting croquetas. So delicious! My mom ordered a lobster roll, can't remember the name, and another tropical roll. The tropical roll was yummy but fell apart easily because of the soy paper. That did not make for an enjoyable bite but, it was tasty. The lobster roll was so good! The extra lobster was topped with Kani and spicy mayo. So good! I ordered the spicy octopus app and it was incredible. It's was tender with a nice chewiness to it. And the combo of the pickled ginger, wasabi, hot sauce, and their vinegar plate sauce was incredible! Reads like a true cocktail sauce! We had a very disappointing experience with our recent to-go order from Sushi Sake. We placed our order expecting the usual wait time, but ended up waiting nearly an hour. Throughout that time, we were told repeatedly that the kitchen was still "waiting on the fried rice." After a long wait, we asked again and were finally told the real reason for the delay: dine-in customers are prioritized over to-go orders when it comes to fried rice. In other words, if someone sitting inside orders fried rice after you, they'll still get theirs first. While we understand that restaurants often juggle dine-in and takeout orders, it's unacceptable to delay a to-go order for nearly an hour--especially without being upfront about the reason. A simple heads-up or apology would've gone a long way, but instead we were met with vague explanations and no real effort to make it right. At the end, we were forced to make the decision to leave with no food. Very disappointing. read more

I've been to sushi sake a bunch of times I normally just order for takeout but after a short day at work I decided to go for lunch. The service was great as soon as I walked in Leidy were ready to help me. Amadeo my server was amazing, very attentive and quickly placed my order so I can still get the lunch special. I wanted to order a drink and he waited to ring it up so I can get the happy hour special but still had it made for me right away. Also no judgement from the team I wasn't looking like a complete bum but definitely not sit down appropriate (in my opinion I was wearing tights and a long sleeve shirt ) but they treated me like every other customer. This review will be mainly about service. Our whole experience lasted a little longer than 20 minutes. My girlfriend and I both have many years of combined experience working in some of the most well known restaurants and venues in south Florida. The service we received was enough to make us want to leave. My girlfriend and I, after working up an appetite playing pool and arcade games, decided to head on over to Sushi Sake. Sushi is on the top of our favorite foods pyramid so we were excited to say the least. This Sushi Sake is also on a list of ours and not close to the top. We were greeted by Leidy, the manager, who sat us, took our order and even brought an app. Great attitude and handling from her. The servers are were the ones who left this bad taste in our mouths. Looking over the menu we went ahead and ordered our apps. Edamame, shrimp shumai, and aged tofu. The apps were good. Sauces and presentation were also good. The apps came out within 10 minutes and close to each-other in time. We agreed to not go through with entrees due to such poor service. Here are the points of service that did not meet our requirements for a good review: *We placed the menus off to the side of the table in the most clear view possible expecting them to be taken. Bare minimum thing here. They were still on the table when we left. *Every server was huddled up gossiping behind and around the host stand. Do that in the back by hobart. Not up front for the whole restaurant to see, while your guests are looking around waiting for their orders and menus to be taken. *The table manicuring really could have and should have been better. Our appetizer plates were taken from us while we were still eating off of them, reaching over our share plates. They couldn't wait to take our plates of food but didn't have the same attitude towards the menus. *While eating, we were also basically ran up on by a random server, who we paid absolutely zero attention to until she interrupted our very serious conversation by asking very sternly , "Is everything okay?" Like almost yelling. At this time my girlfriend and I looked at eachother with two shocked expressions because of how rude and intrusive she was. At that time and pace, a restaurant that size with the amount of covers sat, should have been operating well with 2-3 servers MAX. Thank you to Leidy again for the great service and attitude! The good, the food and service were okay. Had been there a few times prior to this occasion. Beautiful atmosphere and notably very well staged with amazing plants, buddhas, and bamboo trees adding a lovely ambiance. The bad- In noting I'd been there before I just noticed the auto charge tip of 18%. Not a bad thing, I hadn't noticed before (that's on me) and had been tipping an additional 20% because they hand you the tablet with the tip screen to enter your tip so I was missing that. Usually it's for parties larger than.... Not for one or two people. Again, that's on me so I get it. What irked me this time is that the sushi came with no wasabi, or ginger. It did on my last visits. That's a standard. Oh that's an up-charge!! WHAT? Seriously too many great places to have sushi, and it shouldn't be extra to get ginger and wasabi with it. That's crazy. My friend was asked did she want any spicy mayo for her dish. "Yes, thank you" And she got a tiny bit, less than a tablespoon and was charged $1.00 for it. I can see charging extra for more, but dishes should at least come with something complimentary to the meal. I've never had to pay for wasabi and ginger with a roll, sushi, or sashimi. Not sure if I'll continue to eat there. Not about a few extra bucks but more about the tackiness of it all. This is more of a PSA than anything.
