It was my first time ordering food from this establishment and it was for takeout so I cannot speak on the AYCE experience. I decided to order online for pickup since this place is about 5 minutes away from my workplace and I was in the mood for sushi. I placed an order about 20 minutes before noon and it was ready by the time it was noon so A+ for that! When I walked in to pick up the food, it was practically empty so I'm assuming they mainly gain business from takeout during the day/weekdays. I decided to order the 3 roll lunch special for $10.75 which comes with soup AND salad. Whenever I order sushi (non-AYCE), I usually always go for my 3 go-to rolls: 1 Spicy Salmon Roll - it was pretty good, not spicy at all though 1 Salmon Avocado Roll - salmon tasted a little bit off, maybe it was just me... but avocado was good 1 Sweet Potato Roll - not much to say about the sweet potato roll, I just like sweet potatoes... Miso Soup - nothing special, full of sodium & tastes like regular packaged miso soup you can heat up Salad - I personally didn't like the dressing: it was some kind of yellow gingery dressing The rolls were complimented with lots of packaged Yamasa Soy Sauce/Less Salt Soy Sauce which was appreciated & enough to last my whole meal. The rolls weren't really anything to die for, I couldn't really taste the spicy salmon roll and the salmon might've not been very fresh in the Salmon Avocado roll. So I typically really enjoy coming here for AYCE and my last experience was truly the best I've had in a while (nothing forgotten, rolls not packed with rice, everything out in a reasonable time)... but my issue is with this attached picture. Two mondays in a row now I've driven to sushi saga because they have clearly written in all platforms that they are open mondays. I arrive last Monday and they have a sign on the door apologizing that they have no staff and will open the next day as scheduled. Well low and behold go back today April 19th the next Monday and the SAME SIGN is on the door but the funny part is underneath the sign is turned to open. If you're going to close every Monday then be considerate to your guests that travel a distance to come eat at your restaurant and then show up to see that you are closed... just change your hours permanently and say you're closed mondays and don't every week use the guise of having "no staff" read more

If you're looking for a place to fill up on sushi this place is definitely for you. As the other reviews have stated, it's $21 for all you can eat. I had the all you can eat sushi buffet. Many of the kitchen items and appetizers are good. I wish the Peking duck had more duck in the bun, but who am I to complain from an all you can eat. Onto the sushi. The menu here is similar to all the sushi buffets I've been to, nothing too special. The rolls here are good. I'm not sure if just today but the seaweed paper was a little too tough. I'd give the rolls a 4/5. I have particularly high standards, maybe unrealistic, when it comes to sushi and sashimi. So what I think may be more critical than most. I thought the sushi had too much rice, imo there was enough rice with each sushi for another piece of sushi. I ended up removing half of the rice from each piece to get the perfect amount. The slices of fish were on the thinner side, but I can't complain cause it's buffet style.. I'd say the salmon here is the best out of all the other fish they have here, also better than the salmon at Sushi Palace. I'd give the sushi here a 3/5. I would've given this place a 4 star rating if the service was a little quicker and more attentive, it wasn't that busy so I was a little disappointed. I used go to this place frequently and while the food is still decent, the service has steadily decline. Be prepared for slow service and wrong orders. Went there once on a Thursday evening and had to wait 30 mins for a table of 2 while half the restaurant was empty. Management decided to hold those tables for over an hour because it was reserved for a group despite the number irritated patrons waiting for tables. The food is fine, but my experience here tonight really irritated me and I will NOT be coming back. I came here with my daughter (an infant), my 2 nieces, and my friend. My daughter is 4 months old and is in a car seat. First, they tried to place us at a small table with 4 seats which would leave me with nowhere to put my daughter except on the small table or on the floor in the middle of a walk way where she would be at risk of getting hurt. My friend said it wasn't going to work before I had the chance to say anything and we were moved to a booth. My friend and my nieces sat on the bench seat and I sat on a chair and put my daughter on the other chair. The tall waitress pulled another chair over so my nieces and my friend didn't all have to sit on the bench. This was appreciated; HOWEVER instead of just moving the seat over and leaving it, she proceeded to pick my daughter's seat up and physically move it to the chair she just brought over (waking her up in the process). You shouldn't EVER be touching or moving another person's child ESPECIALLY with Covid and monkey pox being an issue. I was not even going to move my daughter but I, instead, was going to have my niece move to the new chair. Perhaps the waitress thought she was helping by moving my child, but it made me very upset and extremely uncomfortable and as a result I will not be coming back and will not be recommending it to anyone. read more

I went to sushi saga last Saturday it was busy but not to crowded got seated right away the waitress took our order and when the order came the rolls were very small the nigiri sushi you could only order one peace at a time and the order came with the smallest pice of wasabi and only two little peaces of ginger then it took a long time before the waitress came back to take our order again and when the order came this time no wasabi or ginger had to wait a long time to get the waitress over to our table and they never asked if we wanted more tea and for 27 dollars a person I will not be going back there again read more

I came here with 3 friends and we opted for the all you can eat option because we were all craving sushi. We came on a Friday evening but the place was not that crowded and were seated immediately. The drill is the same at any AYCE sushi place: you are given a general and sushi/sashimi menu and write in what and how many you want. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh and I was satisfied with the quality. However, the service was very lacking and is what I want to mainly review. When we were seated, we asked for ice water and the waitress brought it over. However, as she was placing the cups down on the table, she spilled some of water and landed on my friend's phone. She did not even offer an apology and did not bother to get napkins for my friend. Additionally, placing our orders was a hassle because the waiters were not attentive enough. We had to hold up our menus and wave them around like pom-poms to get their attention every time since they were talking and laughing with each other in the back. After 3 rounds of sushi, we decided that it was time to leave and asked for the check. The waitress brought it over promptly but after giving her the card, she never returned with the tab. After 10 minutes, my friend asked a different waitress asking where the tab and his card went and she finally found it laying near the register. Sushi Saga definitely has a greater selection on appetizers and sushi/sashimi compared to Sushi Palace. I'm a fan of their tuna tartars (though it'd be great if they can do salmon too). It doesn't really get too busy and food tastes okay here. They have a yelp deal $5 for $10 and it's good for regular menu items and AYCE. Customer service could be alot better. Staffs look bored out of their minds and uninterested in their jobs. *Not a big deal but the green tea ice cream here isn't as enjoyable as Sushi Palace's. We came here yesterday afternoon. Walked in and was seated right away since it wasn't packed which we were afraid of lol. Did the AYCE, ordered a few rolls and appetizers and everything came out quick and fresh. They even have beef short ribs and mussels on the apps menu which is pretty rare at AYCE places. I really try to support all of the local eateries and especially now during these tough times. The other night we came here because of our past experiences here that have always been good. When we arrived at 7:45 (they close at 10), we were told vaguely that it would be a "long wait" for a table. We chose to wait. It turned out to be about an hour wait, but we were okay with that. We placed our order and everything came out quickly. So quickly that all the appetizers and food came to the table at the same time. We were a group of 6 so there were a lot of dishes. There were plenty of staff members but they made themselves scarce and didn't come by to collect dishes, offer water, or pick up additional orders. By 9:30, I noticed that the sushi bar was pretty much cleaned up and put away. Next came soapy water to clean the display cases. (That's a good thing, but if you're open until 10, maybe wait until then to close up?) We then tried to place a new "kitchen" order, wee were told the kitchen was closed. I understand that places will do this to allow staff time to process the clean up process, but the polite thing to do is to alert your patrons and request a "last call" before you just shit everything down on an "all you can eat". It's just common courtesy. So If you're looking s for good sushi, this place isn't bad. If you're looking for good service, you'd be best to look elsewhere! read more

Went here today, food was fantastic as always, you can't beat the price. However, the server we had was just so rude. We walk in and sit down, and the server asks us in a monotone what we want to drink. That's fine, didn't bother me too much. She brings it back, and we have our sheet ready, but she ignored it, proceeds to walk away to the front and go on her phone. It took her 10 minutes to get our ready order, even when she was on her phone. We got someone else to take our sheet and she came out with our food shortly after, and practically just put it on the table and ran. We say thank you, and she continues to be silent and ignore us. They usually give us an extra sheet so we can order more, yet they didn't and I had to ask another person, yet again. While she is on her phone. It's unnecessary and just flat out rude, when you are a server you don't act that way. Just lucky I'm not a crappy person and didn't leave her nothing or less than 18%. So I am at Sushi Saga last week waiting for them to finish up my pick-up order - edamame and a roll. The edamame is done first so the hostess and a waitress (I think she was a waitress) are waiting by the sushi table for my roll to be finished. I am watching them all talk when I see the waitress nonchalantly/very obviously open my edamame box, take a few out, and cup them in her hand. We make eye contact. Then she proceeds to walk behind a counter and eat them. I am watching her do this. She thinks she is being sneaky by covering her mouth while chewing but she isn't. As she walks back to her friends, we make eye contact again (I am staring at her at this point). I had my infant son with me and I didn't have the energy/time to say anything but what the heck was that? The sushi rice was hot and the salmon on the fish was not fresh. Also the rice to fish ratio is pretty bad, you get more rice than fish. I came here with a huge sushi craving and left with a huge sushi craving :( If you want all you can eat sushi, go to sushi palace, sushi king, masa or miga. I will preface this by saying I am not sure why there are so many 5-star ratings. Don't let them fool you. One star for the food being edible (it didn't taste bad, really, just read below why they lost points). The second star was because of the good wait staff. The good: the waitresses were really nice and attentive. They never went long without coming to check on us. Props to them. The bad: well, the food. The flavor of most things was OK, but it certainly didn't "blow me away" like so many reviews insist. If you have had really good sushi in your life, you know this place is sloppy and doesn't know what they're doing quite yet. Rolls would fall apart the moment you touched them. Right there is minus 50 DKP. The sushi rice was way above room temperature, likely taken straight from an electric rice cooker and served hot; another HUGE no-no. While we are on the rice.. There is way too much of it. We are talking a 80/20 rice to fish ratio. This was true for both the sushi (pieces) and the maki (rolls). The sashimi also left a lot to be desired. While it wasn't terrible, don't get me wrong, a few things got to me. No plain tuna sushi on the all you can eat menu is my biggest pet peeve, but I'll admit that's not entirely uncommon because tuna is expensive. Their eel sashimi was just plain disgusting, served ice cold and slimy with the skin not grilled at all; totally soggy and chewy. The red clam also came out at the size to what can only be described as a pencil shaving. You'll have to order 6 to equal 1 normal one. The tamago had no sugar in it. It was literally just egg and an emulsifier. Tip to the sushi chef: pay attention to the card and stop leaving things out, both of our plates we ordered had missing items. Hot food tips: skip the udon. It's not worth the stomach space. Get the BBQ beef ribs, it's basically LA Galbi and it tastes OK, just use your fingers to hold the bone and bite it off. If you use your chopsticks it will be a nightmare, it's just too tough to get them off the bone. I guess I'll throw in that my gf liked their seaweed salad, but that's like getting excited from scoring a goal in a game that you are now losing 1-8. I don't think I'll go back to try the rest of their menu items. If you're in the area and you don't know any other sushi places, give it a shot. Otherwise, there are places in the area that care more about the quality of their sushi. read more

So we went here, me thinking I would go for their "all-you-can-eat" option, and she figured she would get a few non-raw fish items, perhaps some soup, maybe California rolls, etc. Well, as soon as we started to order they told us their policy would not permit me to order all-you-can-eat, and her to order a la carte; their policy is, if one person at the table goes for all-you-can-eat, then everyone else at the table must too. My complaint is the environment, I understand that they are busy but the staff seemed to have an attitude problem and looked miserable to be helping us. They are also strict, making sure no food is wasted. As this is understandable being an all you can eat place, having 5 pieces of sushi left over when the bill is 90 dollars is not. And after not attending to us for nearly the whole meal, after telling us to eat more numerous different waitresses made sure to check our plate to count how many were left. So I went when it first opened and was no impressed at all. The list of the all you can eat sushi was short and so my friend and I ended up just getting two rolls each and thought it was over priced and not the best, also it was very dark in there. Went back years later with a different friend then lighted the room up. It felt more warm and welcoming. The menu has expanded we got some appetizers and rolls and it was delicious. Went back again with the intention of doing the all you can eat. Oh my. For $25 I ate all I could trying almost everything on the kitchen menu and having my fill of sushi. I've been here twice this week for lunch because it's so well priced! You get soup, salad, and 2 rolls for $7.50. Canned soda is $1.50. A cup of hot tea is $1.00. Food comes out fast. Very fast. Got soup and salad at the same time and the sushi came 3 minutes after that. Not great service obviously because she should have waited until we were done with salad and then give us soup. Lazy. Quality of food however is pretty average. It's lacking in any sort of delicious flavor. I mean it GOOD but in a "oh this isn't horrible and tastes fine" good. It's not like WOW THIS IS SUCH A GREAT SUSHI PLACE. I mean if you've had amazing, delicious sushi before like I have this pales in comparison so do not expect much. Maybe it's different for dinner who knows. Also service leaves much to be desired. I am a server so I know what goes on but both times I went to lunch the two young girls were extremely impersonable which is fine but as soon as they go away before they take your order or bring the check, they do not come back for 10-15 minutes. It was empty during lunch and I understand they may have side work but the fact is they do not keep their eye on the table when they are in the dining room the entire time and you can see them. This used to be my go to restaurant with all my family and friends. The service has gotten drastically worse and worse upon each visit. They have forgotten orders from members in my party several times, and not apologized for their mistakes. They have given me the wrong take out orders and there are hardly any English speaking employees there. I'm bilingual,I understand all different cultures, and have no problem with a foreign language. With that said, if you work in a mostly English speaking restaurant, please know the language. There's always so much confusion explaining your order and asking what you need. It's a shame. Food is still pretty good, that's why the 2 stars. Hope they improve their staff and handle those issues! read more
