We came here on a whim when our original sushi spot had too long of a wait. Once seated, the service was quick as they took our orders. We ordered the Crispy Gyoza ($8.95), Sashimi Sampler ($13.95), Salmon Nigiri ($5.95), Eel Nigiri ($5.95), G-Dragon Roll ($13.95), and Smoked Killer ($13.95). The gyoza were on the sweet side and the sashimi was a pretty good deal. The fish was fresh and satisfied all my sushi cravings. Of course we also had a bottle of Soju ($11.95) and Sake ($6.95). They also have a Sake Bomb deal for only $1.99, which we also got. Solid sushi spot that has simple rolls and bentos, but not much specialties when it comes to legit sushi. The hot foods seem more popular here though. read more

This is my favorite sushi place and restaurant general. The food is always super good ! We had the teriyaki chicken for the first time, and it is the best! This is also the only sushi place we've visited that has seared salmon, which is amazing ! The service is great ! The waiters are kind and attentive. I loveeee sushi pop ! Oh and they have a $1.99 beer and sake special! Can't beat that ! read more

If you're in Fullerton, you have to hit up sushi pop. Been coming here for 8 years and they always deliver with food and service. No matter how busy they get, food comes out fast and delicious. Great environment and Jai was great today. read more

The rolls here are amazing! I love how fresh the fish are, and how most of the rolls use snow crab instead of imitation crab. Rolls are bigger compared to other sushi places, and service was fast and attentive. Shoutout to our server Chan, he checked on us constantly and explained the menu items perfectly. I have going to this location for several years now and for a reason. The fish is always of excellent quality and is delicious! They have a creative menu with many good cold and hot options. It has a cozy atmosphere but i enjoy for dine in but they do real good on take out as well. They staff is alway very nice and check in to see if you have everything you need. I highly suggest the seared salmon sushi and the yaki udon. read more

Most recently I ordered from here the Alabacore Special Roll (crab meat, avocado, fresh albacore, pickled onions and deep fried onions) & their Miso Ramen noodles. The albacore roll was delish, it had a lot of onions which I appreciated! I really liked the tangy sauce that came with it too, it enhanced all of the flavor and ingredients of the roll. I also did like the miso ramen, although I was hesitant at first from ordering because of negative reviews I've read on here of it. Honestly, I could see why some people may not have liked it. Compared to other specialty ramens out there, theirs was somewhat basic, but I still very much enjoyed it. They gave hearty portions of noodles and it tasted good, not the best but it was still satisfying. Overall, it was a good meal and I was most satisfied with the albacore special roll! read more

It's a bit on a pricier end but the food is definitely worth trying. The menu is overwhelming the first time around but the staff have no issues explaining it in depth. Great customer service and the area has enough spacing between one another to be able to sit peacefully. I love the atmosphere here. Completely dissatisfied with the customer service we had experienced. We went for the 3:30-5:30 pm happy hour special. During this time there is a 20% discount on your order. When I received my bill, it did not include the 20% discount. When I asked the waiter as to why I did not get the discount, his reply was that it was 3:27 pm when I placed my order. (I was 3 minutes too early for the discount.). The time stamp on my receipt showed that I paid at 3:51 pm. (This was within the happy hour time period.) I hope the extra $17.00 or so dollars that Sushi Pop made by not giving us the 20% discount is worth loosing long term customers. We will not be going back again. read more

Well used to be big fan. But had the bento box last night with teriyaki beef. Meat tasted like it was microwaved and old. Called to complain to a manager. They said no manager was in until next week. I asked for his or her name and they said they don't give out names. WTH. Well this place I will never eat again and happily will give my money elsewhere. read more

Food was excellent! We got the house sake and plum sake, both were good but plum was our favorite! We had the Euclid roll which was delicious if you love spice and salmon. Finished off with the soft shell crab roll and 5 piece sushi. The crab was good and the nigiri was very fresh and yummy. So me and my partner went in and ordered a few things for takeout. Nothing crazy, I ordered a bento and edamame and my partner ordered 2 rolls. We ordered at 8:00 pm and didn't get our order until almost 8:50!!! The wait time was outrageous. There was only 1 server on shift, it was unfair to him he had to balance an almost full restaurant. There were about 9 tables in there AND he had to run all the food to them AND package the to go orders. Thats a lot especially at a busy time so we had sympathy for him. He gave us a free drink for waiting which was nice. The server told us it was the edamame that was taking a long time to be ready but when we got it, it was cold and undercooked and so was the meat in my bento, I assume because the order took long to be ready. I'm really really disappointed in my takeout experience. There needs to be another server on shift. read more

Never been here before. Came in on a Wednesday around 5pm for dinner. Was seated immediately. There were about 4 other tables in the place being served. Waiter was polite and kind. I had to remind him if he could bring my water. But I was on no rush. My wife was a few buildings over getting a pedicure. Music being played was true to the "Pop" name. It was nice and upbeat. Familiar early to mid 2000s Pop Music. They had one TV screen dedicated to the NBA playoff game. But it's not really a place to come catch the game as a group I imagine. But I was alone. So it was nice to have another screen other than my phone to keep me engaged. Okay food time. I got the rock & roll Roll... BOMB I'd come back just for that roll. Beautifully presented and if you can manage to fit a whole roll with the toppings in your mouth. Do that. Was delicious. 5Star roll Miso soup. Was great. Yes I'm a miso soup guy. It didn't taste sour which to me usually means it's 2-3 days old and been reheated. It was nice and savory. 5 Star My only knock was with the Rainbow Roll +5 combo. It tasted a little too fresh which made it all just a tad bit bland. Maybe not aged enough. 3 stars for this assorted bunch. So overall 3.5 with leaning towards 3 stars. So. Awesome place overall. Funnily enough we came here for ramen but now I've made it a mission to come back to try the sushi as well. Speaking of ramen, we ordered the tonkatsu red (perfect mild level of spice) and miso ramen, both broths were flavorful and the noodle and meat portions were so generous. The two cuts of pork included in each bowl caught us off guard with how thick they were (other ramen shops serve 2-3 thinner cuts of pork), , but it was marbled nicely and cooked in a way that it was easy to bite off. We ended up here based on the mostly positive Yelp reviews we read. Initially we were seated at a table right near the sushi bar. One of the sushi chef's kids was standing on the sushi bar (not kidding), making tons of noise and throwing soy sauce bowls on the ground. I love kids and can exercise patience when dealing with them, but this was ridiculous. We changed tables twice until we were seated as far away from the sushi bar as possible. Even after it was made painfully obvious why we were moving tables, the sushi chef and his wife continued to allow the kid to make tons of noise and keep throwing things around. We ordered the $20 AYCE special, mostly because it made the most financial sense. I stayed pretty simple and ordered a variety of sushi and a seaweed salad. Everything was pretty yummy and fresh tasting. My boyfriend tried a bunch of the rolls and was pretty happy overall. The decor was kind of strange....each table had a giant balloon hanging from it which just ended up getting in the way. Food: 4 stars. Ambiance: Strange, not very inviting. Felt more like a quick serve place than a restaurant. Screaming child (of an employee) that no one cared enough to make stop...deal breaker. 0 stars. Price for AYCE: Pretty good deal. 4 stars. First time here after reading all the positive reviews in yelp. Came in for the AYCE dinner and seated after a short 15 wait. Servers greeted my party and immediately offered a complimentary appetizer and all the goodies. Foods are very well prepared and love the presentation. I ordered mostly nigiri and the fish are fresh. Only issue is the rice to fish ratio is a little more towards the rice. 4 stars. They have a limit for sashimi offering. Only one per person for salmon, ahi tuna, yellowtail, seared albacore and seared tunas. A little dry on the albacore and tuna, but the no rice options are a huge plus. They also have halibut and large scallops for premium which is also included in the AYCE. Something to die for. 5 stars for that. Service wise is descent. My water cup was always topped off, and servers check us out occasionally, considering only 2 servers available for the floor the whole time. Another 5 star. They also let my party know since we're ordering a lot so expect a longer service time, which I understand and didn't bother me at all. They have Sashimi, sushi, hand rolls as well as appetizers and non sushi menu. My friend ordered all you can eat and I ordered Rock N Roll, Sushi Pop Roll and some sushi. Service was quick and we got our foods really fast. 2 Sushi chefs and servers were professional and very friendly. My friend told me sushi was so fresh and rolls with nice decoration were amazing. 5-Star Review - Sushi Pop Fullerton Sushi Pop Fullerton continues to be one of our absolute favorite places to eat. The food is always incredible, the service is consistently welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like a true family dinner every time we walk through the door. We highly recommend the Caliente Roll and the Hotty Hotty Roll. They are both are packed with flavor and always perfectly prepared. Their ramen is also one of the best around! This restaurant is always changing. It's a great location but unfortunately the food did not follow suit. The first thing you notice about this place is the 50% off everything sign. Or, you think that'd be the first thing you notice but somehow my wife and I both missed it entirely. So, you can imagine our surprise when we sat down at the bar and started looking over the menu. "$7 for 2 pieces of nigiri?! $10 for a hand roll?!? $6 FOR A COKE??!" We were both in growing disbelief as we went down the menu, but it wasn't until I hit the coke that I realized something was off. That's when I looked at the front window and made out a sign that read" 50% off..." and that's when it clicked. "Discount" aside, the food was just average and not worth going back for. The place was packed though. Judging from the outside, you'd think they have some amazing fish but for what it's worth, neither of us was wowed. I was in the area for work and decided to pop into this spot for a quick bite. I ordered the sashimi salad, and at first, I was like, "$20 for a salad? Really?" But let me tell you--it was SO worth it. The amount of fish they give you is super generous, and it was incredibly fresh. Like, melt-in-your-mouth fresh. The flavors were on point, and it actually filled me up, which is saying a lot for a salad. Also, major props to the waiter! It was the lunchtime rush, and even though he had a few other tables, he was super attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. Wow! Never seen a place so packed and yet so attentive! The servers were clearly running around but they seemed so energetic and happy to answer our questions, ( our 2nd eating sushi so we had a lot of questions). Our server recommended ordering a few rolls for ourselves since it would not be worth it to get the AYCE so we ended ordering Lobster Dynamite and the Alaskan roll. The Lobster Dynamite took a little tie to come out but considering how busy it was it was pretty quick! The roll was so nicely presented that I had to snap a quick pic before extinguishing the flame in the middle! LITERALLY FIRE! The Alaskan was really good too! Nice place! Not many clean all-you-can-eat places in the OC area to begin with especially one that has great food and etiquette service to match with it. Average ayce pricing for lunch and dinner. But above average quality of fish and freshness of ingredients, compared to that, the pricing is very affordable and quite cheap. I had a difficult time deciding which rolls to choose for each of my rounds since I wanted the best ones for my first time experience here. So our server (Sang, was his name!) helped so much with that, he was friendly and took his time to inform us in detail about the popularity and taste of some of the rolls. Came here with my family for some early lunch. The place was packed and saw that everyone was super busy. which is a good sign cuz that means the business is good ! The servers did take a little of their time but i couldnt blame them. They were working their butts off. Sean made sure to answer all of our questions and this other server made sure to check up on us every time he passed by. The food was amazing and came out super fast despite it being busy ! Highly recommened the lobster dynamite becuase that rolls literally on fire ! Overall a very good experience and couldnt recommened this place more. The service here is absolutely great. The servers Jiyon and Eric always sweet and friendly too. really nice people! The sushi overall is great. Always fresh and really presentable. The experience at Sushi Pop was very interesting. One of our servers was amazing and really tried to cater to what rolls we wanted. This place is not the best sushi location for vegetarian rolls, but they did try to customize our rolls to what we wanted, which I really appreciate. The rolls itself were fine but not great. They looked beautiful but the flavor was bland and the sushi rice lacked flavor. Their hot sauce was also not great. It tasted slightly sweet, and I did not enjoy the sauce with the rolls. I don't think I'll be back, but I do appreciate the staff for trying to work with what we wanted. The ambiance was okay, and it did feel a bit loud for my taste. read more

I took couple of my friends to this restaurant on Friday night and I was a bit surprised because it was crowded. Considering the fact that it was opened 2 months ago, they were doing really good. They got the liquor license so they now serve beer, sake, and wine. Even though it was crowded, service was quick and the food was great. Daniel and MJ were very entertaining and nice. I went to this place with few other friends few times and the service was exceeding the expectation,and the presentation of sushi along with the rolls was pleasantly looking. It's unfortunate because the broth is what makes a great bowl of ramen stand out. I've included a video showing the leftover broth straight from the refrigerator the following day. Traditionally, a collagen-rich ramen broth will develop a gelatinous consistency when chilled. This new broth remains surprisingly liquid. Another thing that stood out during our visit was how empty the restaurant was. I couldn't help but wonder whether the changes to the food have something to do with it. Of course, I can't speak for other customers, but if longtime patrons are noticing the same decline in quality, perhaps it's worth reconsidering the recipe changes. It's disappointing to see a place I previously enjoyed move away from what made its ramen so good in the first place. I genuinely hope they bring back the original broth.

So it's nice to try a variety of the rolls! The sushi tasted clean and fresh and flavorful. It was easy online ordering and it's a small shop for to-go orders only. Next to a bunch of automotive shops in an industrial area but very close to the buena park train station. I will definitely return!

The portions were generous, the food was beautiful, and every bite was the kind of delicious that makes you wonder why anyone would go anywhere else for this type of food. The chicken, rice, sushi, salad, and sides were all so good, and the flavors worked perfectly together. It felt like a full, satisfying meal without anything being boring or thrown in just to fill the box. You can tell they know what they're doing. What made it even better was how kind they were to my husband and son. They were so welcoming, patient, and sweet with my family, which made the whole experience feel even more special. Good food is one thing, but when a place treats your family with that much kindness, it really stands out. It made us feel taken care of, not just served. I genuinely don't understand why people would choose another spot when Take Sushi is right here. This is officially my go-to for sushi/Japanese food in the area. If you're thinking about trying it, just go. You'll thank yourself later.
