Believe it or not, this was my first time at Sushi Palace, even thought I worked around the block from this restaurant for about 8 and a half years. With so many Asian spots in the area, we kind of stuck with our usuals so it was nice to be able to try this. We sat in the large booth area which fit 8 of us very nicely. We came hungry so it was a bit of chaos with ordering because everyone wanted everything. But once we got it down, we marked our paper menus and handed them over. We ordered from both the kitchen and sushi menu. Everything came in waves. Not everything came out that we ordered. And we didn't know what was what. From what we understand they try to gauge what the group will eat so sometimes not all the dishes come out. But it's AYCE, so just order it again, and that's what we did. We gave the $33 a head price a pretty good run for the money. We ended the meal with ice cream and fried Oreos (tempura style which is my fav). I had the green tea which is such a treat for me. All in all a good meal. The sushi quality is pretty decent and the price can't be beat.

This place is good but I might be biased since ayce sushi is my guilty pleasure, but there are several points here which makes this a decent spot and a spot I would frequent if it were closer to me. The price is what an ayce sushi price would have been about 5 years ago, love the fact that the prices haven't really moved, the sashimi here was pretty good, not great but much better than some of the lower end ayce sushi spots, the place was relatively empty, atmosphere was nice and quiet, staff was super friendly, accommodating, and not really in a rush to shoo you off and the variety of both cooked and uncooked items here are pretty great. Overall I personally think this place is underrated and deserves more foot traffic than it gets. I would definitely come back here if around the area and in the mood

Pros: + Reasonably priced AYCE + Yes, it does include the sashimi too! + Friendly Staff + Surprisingly vegetarian sushi + Plenty of delicious apps if you're not a sushi person Cons: - They do occasionally forget certain orders/dishes. It happens when you order much more than they expect someone to be able to eat. So please don't waste food! IG: QueenOfAdventureNYC

Won't return. I came here when it was another sushi restaurant, with plushy flower print chairs; then it changed owner, also Japanese. Sushi Palace is definitely the third or nth after the flower chairs. The first two were ok but this one is dark and depressing. The wait staff is unpleasant. We ordered off the menu. The food is plenty and quality is ok. Just the atmosphere killed all. There were only three tables during lunch hours this Sunday, that included us. I paid attention to the sales tax, it's 8.625%.  Gosh, Great Neck is going downhill.

I enjoy dining at sushi palace. The place isn't fancy but the sushi is delicious, fresh and plenty! Sushi Palace offers an all you can eat dining experience for a reasonable price. There is no skimping on the sushi rolls and it is all delicious. You can get a variety of hot items from the kitchen. Tonight I ordered the shrimp tempura, beef rib and the barbecued squid. Yum My sushi order was a Godzilla, rainbow and spicy roll along with a variety of sashimi pieces. Needless to say, I'm stuffed! I've always enjoyed my dinner here and so will you!

    Sushi buffet

A really great sushi buffet! It was easy to get seated even though it was a Saturday night, and the servers were patient and quick. Sushi was fresh and marbled. The white tuna and the scallops were especially good. The sashimi were thickly cut and certain orders were personally seasoned by the chef. The fried appetizers like calamari and tempura were hot, crispy and flavorful. They had fried Oreos which you typically don't see in a sushi buffet, and various flavors of ice cream. The price was great, the food was plentiful, and everyone left pretty happy.

I was very satisfied with my meal at Sushi Palace. I came on a Sunday around 1PM and there was barely anyone inside. There were tons of tables so we were seated immediately and given the menus but when getting the staff's attention to order, it wasn't as quick as I had hoped it would be. Despite being one of the only parties in the restaurant, the service was just decent. There's also a parking lot in the back with metered parking but since it was a Sunday, it was free parking. I came for the AYCE menu but they do have a regular menu as well and lunch specials that last until 4:30PM. There is a decent variety of both hot foods (lots of fried options) as well as sushi bar foods. All of the hot foods came out freshly fried and not oily. It also tasted cleaner than other sushi buffets that I have been to. The chicken and pork katsu are fried very well and actually have a good amount of meat inside rather than a thin slice of meat. The rock shrimp was also very yummy. As for the sushi, it came out very well presented and the fish was fresh. The rolls were stuffed with filling rather than overstuffed with rice which I definitely felt was worth it. Overall, I do recommend coming here for the AYCE option. The weekend prices are cheaper than most sushi buffets and the quality of the food is better than most as well. Plus, don't forget to end your meal off with ice cream and fried oreos! (Put ice cream on your oreo to make it even more bomb)

Pretty solid sushi spot. It's got an All-You-Can-Eat option as well as an la carte menu. This was my first time dining here and I went with the AYCE so I could taste a few different rolls. My friend and I ordered a mix of sushi and cooked items from their menu. Some rolls were much better than the others, but I would definitely return to try the rolls I was too full to eat this time around. There is parking behind the restaurant and also meters out front. Staff is friendly and quick. Ordering is on paper menus (you write in the amount you want) which are always replaced when they bring you your food.

Place is just starting back up again so I was pretty lenient about the food quality, until I saw the bathroom. We came here as a pretty large group so as expected from a AYCE Japan area place. Plates and plates of food was being served, which was cool, no one really knew what was what anymore (which makes it fun; I guess) but they were missing some of the orders and also a greater number was when we were told that they didn't have the fried bananas, so we had to stick to the Oreos ( not the worst thing in the world) but would've been better if they had the bananas. I still want to give props to the manager and the server for really trying their hardest, so for that part I would give them 4 stars. But when I saw the restroom, it had that weird stench and the dead roach right in the middle of the floor, that's when the stars went down the toilet.

We started with an espresso martini, which was excellent--smooth, well-balanced, and a great way to kick off the meal. My husband and I each took a few sips before I remembered to snap a photo--always a good sign. For appetizers, the wasabi rock shrimp and spicy tuna crispy rice were both standouts--fresh, flavorful, and nicely executed with great texture. We also ordered the 10 piece nigiri flight, which was consistently impressive. The fish tasted fresh across the board, with the uni being a highlight--rich, creamy, and exceptionally fresh. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious--crispy and well-balanced. The only dish that didn't quite land for us was the ebi hamachi futomaki. It wasn't bad, just not a favorite for my husband--I only remembered to take a photo when we were nearly finished. From the kitchen, we shared the black cod and sea bass--both outstanding. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked--definite highlights of the meal. For dessert, we shared the peach cobbler, which was a great finish. Warm peaches with hints of bourbon and cinnamon, paired with Japanese vanilla ice cream--comforting and well-balanced. Service was warm throughout, and the quality of the food was evident in nearly every dish. While it leans toward the higher end in price, the overall experience fell just shy of a full five stars--but was nevertheless very enjoyable.

But what missed the mark for me was the "room for improvement" on a few things. The ramen was decent, broth was not packing enough umami for me. The extra noodle portion was ample. Overall the ramen just lacked that oomph factor but it's a decent noodle soup otherwise. The other item was the poke bowl we ordered. It sounded great on the menu but arrived a bit disappointing. The bowl was only half full and skimpy on the rice and ingredients in general. While it offers so many choices and includes a variety of items in three categories - it doesn't justify the portion. I believe you get more at standard poke place. Now onto my sashimi deluxe. It came with a bowl of rice but not with miso soup. I realized it when I got the bill. Many places have entrees that come with soup or salad (my bad for assuming). Overall food was good so no complaints there. I just wished the proportion was to par. On that note, I've ordered from them many times for home delivery and they are very good with packaging and delivery times. Despite my rating on this visit, it's still a solid spot to dine in.
