Sushi one spot has been my go-to for years. The pink lady roll got me into sushi and I always need to get it when I'm there it is the best! AYCE is a decent price with good options to choose from within 3 rounds. The quality is good, though not the best I've ever had. The service has always been hit or miss for me. Everyone has always been friendly and helpful, but it often takes a long time between rounds and a food item never makes it out to us. Since it is all you can eat it's not too big a deal and we just make sure we get it next round, but it can be frustrating. I have been going to Sushi One Spot for actual years! It was my go to high school spot(back in the day). A few years ago I stopped going because I was not impressed, but I decided to give it another shot and it's made it back up into my all-you-can-eat sushi rotation! The sushi was really good! I liked the fact that most of the nigiri were quite small so you could have a lot of them and the fish to rice ratio was pretty good too! I did find that the yellowtail wasn't too flavorful the night that we came, which was a shame because I love yellowtail, however all the other fish was great and the Uni was so delicious it made up for it. I liked the new golden plates and they have a pretty good happy hour and specials menu ! My biggest complaint is the restaurant is so dark. There are 4 options for AYCE. We got the Menu A because we don't really want the special items on menu B & C. $31.95 for all the appetizers, ramen/udon, salad, sushi, roll, cut roll, and hand roll! Totally over idk lots of options! I like it! My bf go because the price is good. He doesn't like AYCE that much. Love the vibe super cute decoration and they also have patios! I wonder if we can bring Cubby next time! I like each serving for sushi is only 1 which makes me get to try out the ones I never had before and don't have to worry what if I don't like it but have one more! The service was HORRIBLE , we got accused of hiding the check. I kept telling the server that she never brought it, and she kept insisting over and over and over that she had brought it. For the 10th time I kept saying you did not bring the check. All we want to do is pay . I Have Never Been So disrespected and to top it off The Manager kicked us out and didn't even gave us a chance to explain . I even asked the manager to review the cameras so she could understand the situation but nope . That server needs to get fired cause her attitude was unacceptable , I even believe they must be related to each other cause the manager didn't even want to hear our side of the story even though we use to be regulars . How can I start this? Well, my family and I always come to this sushi one spot since it is the closest to us. However I have a few things to say about it. First, the sushi rolls are amazing and freshly made, there are no problems with it. However, the service is terrible. The servers are not very attentive or they forget to bring what you ask of them. Mind you, I myself work at a restaurant and I understand. However, asking more than 2 people for the same thing shouldn't be a problem. My sister asked for a fork and a straw and it took them about 20 mins to give them to her. Same thing happened with a couple of other people on our table. We always come to this location. And we always have a problem with the service. Great food (that's why we keep coming back). But, honestly there should be some improvements on attentiveness. Also, side note. The teriyaki chicken bowl was terrible. The chicken was boiled and then cooked. It was probably frozen. It will give you a stomach ache if it isn't cooked properly. And when it was ordered it took about 45 minutes to come out. The people that were on our table had the All You Can Eat and they were on their third round until the teriyaki chicken bowl came out. Also, there were three families on bill. So, instead of giving a full discount or refund on the bowl. They gave each family a drink refund (3.99 dollars off each bill... so total of 12 dollars of a refund) and mind you these are split checks. So basically the family who ordered the teriyaki bowl only got 3.99 off their bill! Anyways, beware. Great food. Bad service. read more

Half my order was ready and sitting out in the pickup area, then just left there while I waited for the rest, which didn't actually come out until almost an hour after I ordered. I ended up asking for a refund on the second half because I didn't want to risk eating raw fish that had been out that long. The staff did apologize for the wait, but that was about it, no real effort to make it right. What bugs me more than the wait itself is that the first half of my order was just sitting out in the pickup area that whole time. If raw fish is left out like that in front of customers, it makes me wonder about how it's being handled and stored in the kitchen too. Food that I did get was good, but between the wait and seeing food just sitting out, I'm hesitant to order raw fish here again. read more

Honestly, it's more like 3.5/5. The fish itself is not bad in any way, in fact it was on the better end imo. However, the rice to fish ratio is not great at all. They use a lot of rice for their nigiri, so I was pretty full by the end of round 1. The rice was good, but after a while it does feel overly sweet because it's so much. The Cajun salmon delight and Cajun salmon nigiri were the highlights for me. I like that they didn't overdo it for the Cajun seasoning. I like that they offer scallop as well, but honestly it felt like the amount of rice overpowered the scallop flavor which was a bummer as that's my usual fave. Service was okay. They were friendly, but that's about all I can say. Our server never really checked in on us and only asked about water refills towards the end of our meal when we asked for our check. My bf and I came in around 2 on a Sunday and it wasn't packed at all. We got seated quick, which was nice. The inside is pretty dark, but not enough where you couldn't see. Coming out to the sun did feel a bit disorienting though lol. Overall, it's not a bad spot as the price was fair at $37.95/person for AYCE. If you like a lot of rice, sure. Visited today and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We were seated extremely close about a foot away from another family, which made the dining experience feel uncomfortable and lacked privacy. We also had a crying baby with us, and a more thoughtful seating arrangement or even slightly expedited service would have made things more hospitable and relaxing for everyone involved. Additionally, when we asked questions about the sushi rolls, our server wasn't familiar enough to identify or explain them, which was surprising for a sushi restaurant. Service overall felt inattentive we had to repeatedly ask for drink refills and still left thirsty. We traveled from Los Angeles County because we used to be regulars here, but based on today's experience, the new staff does not reflect the level of service we once enjoyed. It's disappointing, as this used to be a go-to spot for us. I hope management takes note and invests in better training and staffing, because long-time customers like us would love a reason to return but as of now, we'll likely be looking for a new spot in our area. Did the ayce at 34.95 per person. The appetizers were solid and the fish was good, my favorite was the cajun salmon and tuna. Really good flavor, however there was just way too much rice in the nigiri. They pack the rice super tightly on top of it being as big as the fish so it kind of seems like they want you to get full quickly so you don't eat as much. I've personally never been to a sushi place that gave that much rice and it kind of got unbearable at some point. The uni wasn't the freshest as well. The servers were nice and accommodating, I think they negotiated the price of the leftover charge which was nice of them. Very disappointed with this place. There's a good amount of recent reviews that are misleading. Some people comment on how fresh the fish tasted, but that was not the case at all. The fish I received didn't taste fresh at all. It didn't even seem like it was refrigerated. All the fish was room temp. To think that some people say this is their go-to spot is ridiculous. The fish is sliced super thin and they give you a huge portion of rice for nigiri. Forcing you to eat it or pay an extra cost. Could have gotten better quality from buying slabs of Salmon from Costco and preparing it at home. The service from the wait staff was decent, at least. Ambiance is okay. Really dark inside, but I wonder if that's on purpose. Overall taste of most of the food was whatever. They need to try their own food before serving it because quality was worse than what you'd find at a grocery store. I don't even care how this review makes me sound. I used to really enjoy coming here since it's so close to where I live. I would stop by once, sometimes twice a month. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been really disappointing, and it feels like things have gone downhill. Most recently with my last visit, the service was extremely slow. I watched food sit at the pass and saw my own order sitting on the sushi counter for over 20 minutes before anyone brought it out. At one point for the second round, I actually timed how long it took from when the server picked up our order slip to when food actually started arriving it was around 40 minutes before the first items started to came out. The visit before that wasn't much better. It also took a long time despite the restaurant not being busy, and the fish quality seemed noticeably off. I usually love the unagi and salmon here, but that day the unagi was cold, rubbery, and had an off-putting taste. The salmon tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a few days and was close to going bad. At this point, I can't recommend coming back, which is disappointing because this used to be one of my go-to spots in Rancho :( read more
