I'll start by saying the food was okay. The sushi was good--nothing particularly special, but still enjoyable. Unfortunately, the customer service was horrendous. When I asked the server why there were two different prices listed, he responded, "Well, I'm assuming there are two sizes." When I asked what was in the sushi tacos, he said, "Good question, I don't know... I think tuna. Do you want me to ask?" I was honestly baffled by his lack of knowledge and effort. It's disappointing because the restaurant itself seems like a decent establishment with potential. My eldest daughter and I came to Sake 2 Me Sushi at Foothill Crossing in Rancho Cucamonga for a late night sushi dinner. It was our first time visit here. Lots of free parking available. We were greeted and seated right away after entry. Lots of inside seating either at the bar or tables. FYI They no longer have the AYCE option. However, they do offer 30% off selective items. Menu has many great selections. Prices were reasonable. I was surprised they don't have the chirashi bowl. We opted for Combo A Sashimi with 12 pieces of regular fishes... we got 4 salmon, 4 tuna, 4 yellow tail. Salmon and yellow tail were very fresh, but the tuna did not appear to be the freshest. Good size cuts though. We also got a separate 5 pieces of salmon sashimi. We love salmon! So good!! Along with the sashimi, 1 Cucumber Special Roll (no rice), 1 Rainbow Roll, plus 1 Seaweed Salad were also ordered. I know... it was quite a huge late night sushi dinner. We left full for sure and a little bit to take home. Rainbow Roll was in good portion and tasted amazing... I would order this again. Seaweed Salad was delicious... a must get to complement with sushi and sashimi! Cucumber Special Roll was just okay for me... I didn't get the WOW factor from it. I think the cucumber and the rest of the roll just don't go too well together... maybe it's the water from the cucumber... not really sure. Staff was friendly, quite attentive, and provided excellent service throughout. They made our dining experience exceptionally pleasant. Thank you! The service here is unlike anywhere and it's in some random spot in Rancho??? Forget kabuki at Victoria gardens, come here for amazing sushi. Big cuts, good flavors and melt-in-your-mouth fish. The salmon literally felt like a cloud. And the BAKED ROLLS??? They were so fragrant!!! And crispy!!! I've never had a baked roll this good. I want to give a shout out to Imelda and Henry who were so sweet. Imelda saw us saying grace before food and waited before placing down the plates which was so insanely respectful and unnecessary but she waited anyway. Came in on a Thursday around 1. It wasn't too busy and there was only one server. The service was good, we were sat quickly and helped right away. The food didn't take too long to come out and it was pretty great. I ordered a Golden roll and a veggie roll. They were both yummy. I had never had a veggie roll with asparagus in it, I thought that was kinda fun. The golden roll was good but the cream cheese inside or maybe something else did make the shrimp tempura inside get a little mushy- but that's ok it's to be expected with the moisture from the cream cheese. Over all really good. My husband got a pork katsu meal, some salmon roll, and an avocado roll. He said the rolls were excellent and the pork katsu plate was good his only complaint was at how little sauce they originally gave him for the pork katsu meal and that the salad they brought out had no dressing originally- We had to ask for some. But again over all great. For whatever reason when we went it was 30 percent off so we paid about 60 dollars which we felt was reasonable. Came here for a second time and found the food and service just as excellent as my previous visit. One important note I learned is that if you ask, there are other items that you can get that is not on the main menu. We were lucky to be treated with some tuna head meat, a delicacy and not always available ... the cheek meat was specially delicious. And so was the halibut sashimi but my attention this time went to the Minispoon. It's a small dish of rice, uni, salmon eggs, and seaweed. Somehow, it felt amazingly satisfying to create my own uni sushi with the desired portion of ingredients. Also, I found out later when a table nearby requested the $50 omakase special that the chef makes for the regulars. As a sushi/sashimi lover, I enjoy discovering hidden sushi bars. I heard of Sake 2 Me sushi restaurant before but never tried it. Finally I got to try out this place in Ranch Cucamonga (although this place was bit far from my house, a friend recommended this specific location). We started off with some garlic edamame and small tempuras and oh boy, one of the best garlic edamame I've had! The oysters were also very fresh and clean. I also have to mention that the presentation of the dishes were like a piece of art! I had to complement the head chef Ricky for the beautiful work he made for us!! I've been here twice with my brother and sister n law the prices are decent and the rolls are pretty good. Sadly, they don't offer no rice rolls and their sashimi was okay. I probably wouldn't get it again and just stick with the regular rolls. Their rolls do taste fresh and have a good portion of sushi. I appreciate that they don't use so much rice. Their sauces are amazing on the rolls. I would definitely come back! The owner i believe is so nice! he comes around the tables and asks if everything is okay all happy. During the pandemic, this became our go to take out sushi place, since Omokase was starting its decline under new owners and all the AYCE were still trying to figure out what to do. Sake 2 Me went 1/2 off on all rolls early during the pandemic so we saw this and started using them for take out. Post pandemic they still haven't returned to AYCE and I don't think they will be able to regain the clientele they have lost. When I go in now to pick up it's empty and there are not many take out orders lined up. This is a huge contrast to even just a year ago when if you didn't call early enough the take out wait could get to a hour and there was a waiting list for a table. They have steadily increased their prices AND decreased the roll discount so the rolls are pretty expensive. The discount now is 30% but with a price hike, they are pretty much on par with other sushi places in the area, so they don't win anymore on price. Over the last year, and especially in the last few months, the size and quality of the rolls and nigiri have gone down, so now you aren't competing on price, and the sushi is mediocre. I think I'm done here and we are moving on to find a new go to for our sushi fix. read more

I had lunch here today with a coworker and I have to say it was decent. Let's start off by saying that we weren't sure if the place was open, because the door appeared to be locked when we tried to go in, so a worker had to come open it for us. We were made aware that they didn't have ayce available before we walked in the door; which was fine because an ayce lunch is beyond what we had in mind. She did say that they had 50% off rolls at that time though. From there service was pretty quick and friendly. My coworker ordered a beef teriyaki bento with California rolls. It was served with a salad, miso soup, and a scoop of rice. He said it was pretty good. He liked the fact that the beef was not thinly sliced pieces and that it had a little char on it. I ordered the Jessica and Alaskan rolls. Both were good, but I have to admit they were smaller than I am used to. I'm usually a 1 roll and I'm full type, but I finished both of these to get to the satisfied point. Since they were 50%, I was totally ok with that. They tasted fresh, and the Jessica roll had the perfect amount of eel sauce. I would have given this visit 4 stars but there was one thing that I wasn't a fan of: they automatically add 15% gratuity once you get your bill. We were fine with that since service was not bad, but once they scanned your card and came back, there was a second tip section. So a preemptive 15% and another 15%+ for actual tip? read more

If you order togo the machine will automically force you to give 18% In all other resturants they give you the option to the amount of tip. I dont blame this on the employees, its the owners. The best part is the price; I've paid a lot more for sushi that was not very good. This place was the best I ever had in so cal. We had been traveling in socal for a couple of days without Asian food and I needed it! They still have 50% off rolls and I ordered caterpillar rolled and it came out huge. Steak and sashimi plate came out decent. Their eel sauce is a bit too sweet and they used similar sauce to cook the steak. It's also steak cubes. All other appetizer or small plates are good too. I haven't been to Sake 2 Me in years and I saw that they were doing half priced specialty rolls so I decided to give them a try again. The restaurant was pretty slow around dinner time (Wednesday) and we got sat immediately. They're currently not offering AYCE which explains why they're doing half priced rolls. They give you a paper menu and you mark up your order as if you were doing AYCE. The servers were nice and efficient. There was only only two of them handling the entire restaurant including togo orders. I'm assuming they're being affected by the shortage of workers since they were using disposable bowls and cups. It's more sanitary though. We don't eat raw fish (strange that we went to a sushi restaurant lol) so I can really judge how fresh the fish was. We got the love roll, dynamite roll, eel hand roll, and a combo plate with teriyaki beef and tempura. The rolls were pretty good. They kinda skimp on the avocado. They hand roll was HUGE and the unagi was so flavorful. The beef teriyaki was extremely disappointing. It didn't take like teriyaki at all but closer to a Korean bulgogi flavor. Placed the order at 4:40 for pickup at 5:30 as soon as I walked in the host had a busy lobby but immediately asked how she could help.
