Mom and son working together. Very friendly and helpful. Menu of rolls is long but I finally settled on the rainbow roll. Added 2 nigiri and a CA handrail. I think Mom threw in the tempura shrimp because she told me they were very good (they were). And I couldn't pass up the Korean fish cake in the cold case. I meant to just stop in and walked out with more lunch that hubby and I could eat. Everything was delicious. Homemade with care. The handroll was intentionally not rolled up so that it wouldn't get soggy. Portions were generous and prices were reasonable. I will go again and I hope you do too! We loved the previous sushi spot that occupied this place so were a little apprehensive about trying the new-ish owners, but we really enjoyed our food. The woman encouraged us to try the bento boxes for a good value and it was an excellent recommendation. We had both the salmon and the chicken teriyaki with spicy tuna rolls. So much food! We went here expecting a full restaurant but I should have thought about the name. There are places to sit but it is basically a really good sushi "to go" place. We ordered edamame which was perfectly salted, and a very fresh and tasty seaweed salad for starters. Our main dishes were the #1 nigiri combo and a citrus fresh roll. With both meals the fish was fresh with large cut portions. It was all served in to go boxes even when you dine in. They also have a grab and go area where you don't have to wait for it to be made. Inside are a couple of 2 top tables and a counter if you do want to eat in. The lady who took our order was super sweet. Sushi on the run will be our go to for quick take home sushi in the future. read more

Oh how I'm going to miss this place. Ms. Kim has confirmed that she sold this restaurant and their last day open was today 5/29. I am inconsolable. This place was the most affordable in the desert and the most fresh. I'm going to miss this family owned restaurant forever. We came here for a quick lunch and were at first surprised at how small the location was. They had two-two seated tables and 4 bar chair seats only. We looked at the menu and were pleased to try. It's a small place mostly for to go but they have some high top seats for dining in which we did. the owners are so nice and they made everything to order. I couldn't believe the bento box was only 13.99 and they have really nice tea drinks from Japan also. The chicken katsu was moist and everything was tasty. We will be back. read more

The name isn't the most pleasing but if you're craving sushi/sashimi and katsu this is the place. It's mainly to-go (hence "on the run" in the name), but there are 4 seats along the wall if you want to stay and eat. We ordered primarily sushi and a tray of tuna cut rolls and it was all very fresh. The owner of the establishment is also extremely friendly. We were told the shop opened about 3 months ago and it's a very welcomed addition to the area. Prices are also reasonable for the quality. The combo #3 includes: ($29) Spicy Santa Cruz Roll Crunch Roll California Roll The Golden Philly was $11.99 I called in the order with a future pickup time (2 hours) and it was waiting on the counter when I walked in. This VERY small storefront is a hidden gem in the Albertson's plaza at the intersection of Monterrey and Country Club Drive. Friendly owners who are always willing to help with suggestions. Every sushi roll I've had is fresh, full of flavor and reasonably priced. There are only two small tables for two and four seats along a wall, so you'll probably opt for take-out.
