We had a taste for sushi. The business is owned by a lovely Korean couple. She took the time to explain Japanese tesis Korean sushi. She works the front of the house and he's the sushi master. Now we're not the die hard sushi type of folks. We want our food cooked not raw. Anyway, we were seated and we'll attended though there was no other customers in the restaurant. Our hostess was lovely. They provide a list of their sushi options, raw or cooked. A star indicates the raw sushi options. We ordered the salmon roll, shrimp roll and spicy crab roll. My favorite was the spicy crab roll. It had the perfect spice level and of course you can add to your taste wasabi. Not being a sushi expert I couldn't exactly distinguish the crab from the shrimp other than the spice. My apologies to the Yelp community!!!! One thing for certain it didn't appear that we ordered enough to be full. I was very mistaken. We were stuffed and had to take some home for later. Fun little spot! If you're in the area stop on by.

After reading the reviews I didn't have high hopes but still wanted to give Moto a try and we liked it! While it wasn't the most fabulous sushi we've had, they did good and we ate all that arrived at the table. I usually don't like crab salad but theirs was good. We also tried the fire cracker and in & out. Firecracker was my fave. Being a local sushi joint I'd go here again.

It's my first time here. I was coming out of Costco and had a hankering for sushi because it was hot AF outside. I came in without reading the yelp reviews, yikes. I sadly agree. It was subpar.

Tried this place because I have a sushi craving . Got the food to go I got the in and out and the firecracker and after I opened it , wasn't very impressed. The menu was pictures only with no price . I paid almost 30 dollars for 2 measly rolls. The in and out tasted kind of funny and it did not look anything like the picture. Its supposed to have some kind of fish on top not sure if its salmon or tuna but it is paper thin and the crab salad inside tasted like straight up mayonnaise. It was wrapped in some pink wrapper instead of the seaweed and it did not taste very good. The firecracker was decent but it was small and barely had anything in it. I was really hoping to find a good sushi joint close by.. but this is not it Sad to say I won't be coming back.

    a variety of sushi rolls

Sushi was excellent. We ordered four rolls, seaweed salad, sesame balls and pepper tuna nigiri. Didn't taste "fishy" in the least. Was very fresh tasting, tasty and super affordable.

Super good, clean, and very nice people running it. Not very busy both times we've come, so stop in and help keep business coming in. I love their Philadelphia roll!! Someone said that the food was bland, which definitely isn't true, so ignore that lol.

This is what $40 worth of food looks like... lol

Sushi is ridiculously bland. No flavor at all. This place is way too overpriced, for the amount we paid, we could've gotten way more food at another restaurant! This was my first (and last) time trying this place and I can confidently say I will not be coming back. Everything about my experience was just bad.

This is their take on Ahi Poke. Soupy! Stick to sushi rolls and sashimi.

I'm writing this review during Covid pandemic. Decided to give this small business a try. However, I should have read the reviews before entering this place. Just like you're usual take on multiple sushi plates for the conveyer belt style establishment they use a menu menu without any pricing. Just check and hand it to the chef. The menu they gave me had the common price crossed out. I'm assuming the price had to be different since they were serving full rolls, not conveyer plate size portions. When I asked the lady, she tells me (in a not so friendly way) the range of prices $6.95, $7.95, $8.95 and "spirit fingers" the menu I was holding. I felt if I asked how much for the ones I was interested in, it would have made her upset. So I was careful with my order picking and hopefully did not break the bank. Sure enough when it came to check out time, paid $50 for 3 sushi rolls, a very soupy poke bowl, and 4 baked mussels! And then she never offered me my receipt! Sushi is okay as you would expect from conveyer belt sushi. I thought the rolls were skimpy for the price though. The biggest upset was the Ahi Poke. Never in my life did I ever have any kind of juicy, soupy, watery, poke. I attached a video of this upset! And you can tell the tuna was not fresh. This place should just stick to sushi rolls and sashimi. If you don't know how Ahi Poke is supposed to taste or look, don't offer it! And then charge $10 for it. And seriously work on the people skills. Like I said in the beginning of this, I should have read the reviews first. I would suggest to go to other sushi places, unless you're feeling very optimistic and really pity this small business. Hope this review was helpful to some people.

The Godzilla roll definitely lives up to its name, it's huge. I'm not usually someone who prefers fried sushi, but this one was actually pretty good: crispy on the outside, flavorful, and filling enough to share. I was also pleasantly surprised by the mango roll. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but the sweetness worked really well and made it feel lighter and more refreshing than I anticipated. The White Tiger roll was another favorite! yummy, well-balanced, and easy to enjoy. One small thing I wish they did differently is I would love to see separate servings of ginger for each roll. Sometimes when you order multiple rolls, the ginger gets squished into one tiny container and split between three rolls, which isn't ideal if you like to cleanse your palate between bites. Also wish they had more raw options than just crab options. Overall, the sushi is good, portions are generous, and it's a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a meal. A solid option if you're in Vancouver and in the mood for a quick bite of sushi.

The downtown places can be hit-or-miss so we thought we'd try something new. We stumbled upon Hokkaido on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Greeted immediately, friendly staff, nice ambiance, no complaints there. 4-stars simply comes from the lack of a bar. Good sushi deserves a good martini. That part was super disappointing for me. The Tempura Veggies, Tempura Shrimp, and Sushi was all lovely. Freshly cooked / prepared and served promptly. Price was on-point and the overall experience was great. We'd be regulars if they had a full bar. If you live nearby and can tolerate dinner without a martini, give Hokkaido a try - it's worth it!

However, today was a different story. We ordered the Coconut Shrimp Bento box, Beef Yakisoba and a Tokyo Roll from the Sushi Bar. All were disappointing! The Tokyo Roll had Inside: Spicy Tuna,Avocado;Top: Tempura Red Snapper w. Spicy Mayo & Eel Sauce. The Tempura Red Snapper was not even warm. Almost like they already had it sitting out to top this roll with. They hardly put any Eel Sauce on top. The rolls were very small (I had written about this issue on my previous review). Now, moving on to the Coconut Shrimp Bento. I was expecting a few large pieces of Coconut Shrimp. But what I got was fried pieces of shrimp with a very bland sauce on it! It looked and tasted more like Honey Walnut Shrimp from a Chinese restaurant. It was barely warm and tasted like it came from a freezer and cooked very quickly. While slathered with a very bland white sauce. Very disappointing! My husband ordered the Beef Yakisoba. He tends to love this dish. However, he described it as lacking taste and the beef being bland. Also, the way they piled it on the a bowl, by the time he took a few bites, it was mostly big pieces of broccoli and hardly any noodles in proportion to the size. We also asked originally to sub the rice in the Bento Box for noodles and offer to pay more. In the other chains, similar to this restaurant, they charge us a $2 upcharge fee to do so. They originally came back and told us they couldn't do it. Then we told them we would be happy to pay the $2 upcharge fee. They came back and told us they would have to charge us $5 more! Just to swap the rice for a little bit of noodles! Ridiculous! The Bento Box was already over $15 with the upcharge! Anyhow, there were only one other customer there when we arrived (during what should be a busy lunch hour). It cost us Now I can see why no one goes here. The food is mediocre at best!
