    Mug of tea

Food was fresh and tasted terrific. The tempura, you can tell they clean their oil as there is no stale oil tastes that is found in other restaurants. Portions are great. Service is wonderful and greeted right away. Restaurant was clean and the best part is there was no dinky cup a tea, but a comforting mug of tea. They offer great food for the value.

We ordered a happy platter on New Year's Eve, They said it would be ready in 30 minutes when we got there we waited additional 30 minutes. So waiting one hour , excited to eat but the whole platter , every roll the rice was soggy and wet !!! How can u eat sushi like that! Felt embarrassed to bring that for a dinner and half of us didn't even eat it They should get no stars

This review is based on my experience getting takeout from Sushi Moon. I ordered ahead (10% off!) and was given an estimate of 20 mins. They were super accurate with the timing because my party tray and rolls were already packed ready to go by the time I got there. Sushi rolls were super tasty and not too rice heavy. Highly recommend trying them out!

Fairly new Japanese gig near my house, occupying old Japanese restaurant before, not sure if the owner is thesame. Pretty chic interior design, well lighted and clean. Casual vibes with friendly crew, good service. A bit pricey but excellent Japanese cuisines,I got a deluxe C lunch special available till 3 pm,assorted sashimi, assorted tempura with fried gyoza,Japanese salad, misu soup and and a choice of beef or chicken terriyaki Noise level is moderate, good for kids, group and family, not so big place roughly houses 25 to 30 heads. They deliver as well. Accept cards, debit, and cash. My cravinhs today is very intense so I enjoyed the foods well. Kudos!surely I will revisit this restaurant. For Japanese foods lovers I recommend this one..again pricey but good.

I got the beef udon and two tempera. As a tip get the daishi soy sauce to dip your tempera in. It is way better than the tempura sauce. The beef udon was very delicious and it comes with a good portion of beef in the udon. Everything is made upon ordering. The place is somewhat like food court style. You order and they make it in front of you and you head over to grab your tempura or sides and then you head off to the till to pay. It is a very efficient system. The place is clean and has a good amount of seating. I highly recommend coming here for lunch. They also have late night special for those partying out late and are hungry.

It does remind me of the udon I've had Japan. They could be a little more generous on the green onions, but that's just my personal preference! Service: It kind of feels like a cafeteria, and like I previously mentioned it's similar to what I've had in Japan. It's really quick and efficient which is nice. Ambiance: Casual, and clean as well. Not too loud. But definitely better than a fast food place. For this kind of place, it's as good as it gets. 4 stars - extremely solid and reliable place, it's just not a 5 stars for me because it doesn't blow my mind or anything.

Stopped by Maruhachi on a Saturday lunchtime after our long commute from Seattle. this restaurant…read moreis tucked in a corner not too far from the main Robson street. Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.

We…read morecame on a weekday afternoon right before the busy lunch hour - it was packed 30 min after we arrived! The gentleman (owner?) greeted us and provided us with some suggestions on their best sellers. During our dining experience, he was a little loud with shouting instructions to the kitchen and we did feel a bit rushed to finish our meal and not occupy the table with diners lining up. I ordered the beef noodle soup, and the noodles were prepared well (good texture and not soggy) and the soup had a slight but not overwhelm sour taste from the preserved vegetables. The beef wasn't as tender as it could be, but it wasn't chewy or tough to eat. Prices are reasonable at around $20 after tax and tips. While it wasn't the best or most authentic beef noodle soup I've had, it does hit the spot if I'm craving Taiwanese food downtown or want a hot bowl of noodle soup on a cold day.

I think most people do that so it also gets filled up during the lunch hour rush. The food is ok, nothing special. The price increase makes it even less appealing. I don't know why there is chili in my Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I don't like spicy soup. Lucky I am ok with spice but I wish it is stated in the menu? So if you cannot take spicy food, check with them before ordering. The beef noodle soup is tasty as I do like the addition of pickled vegetables in it, giving a bit of tartness. The beef is tender though the quantity is very little. More noodles than meat ratio. The combo is totally not worth it now that the price has gone up to about $13. If you want rice and noodle for lunch, I think Peaceful Restaurant across the street is a better bet. At least the portion is bigger.

Bun Bo Hue (Small $16.19) - super spicy, but that's fine since I enjoy spicy foods. The issue was that the broth was quite bland, and the spiciness wasn't enough to make up for it. Usually, this soup base has a lot of depth and flavour from broth that's been simmering for a long time to extract those flavours, but this was probably one of the worst ones I've tried. Decent portion of meat, at least 3-4 large slices of Vietnamese ham and goor amount of beef slices. The noodles were SUPER undercooked! Good portion of bean sprouts, and came with 1 wedge of lime. Beef Brisket and Beef Ball in Noodle Soup (Large $17.62) - again, VERY bland broth. The noodles also tasted sort of like freezer burn? Decent portion of meat and filling enough. Just had to douse in Siracha and oyster sauce to finish the bowl though... Pork Spring Rolls ($10.48) - flavour was decent, nothing special. Deep fried okay as well. No complaints here but no endorsement either. There's no music in the restaurant either so it's a tad awkward. Staff are friendly. Lots of seating, including a patio area.
