It seems like here's a lot of regulars who dine here based on the interaction the owner had with the customers coming in after work. We ordered two rolls, miso soup, calamari, hand roll, and salmon nigiri. With tip, it came out to $125. Everything tasted good. I returned to my favorite sushi restaurant today since I was craving it! The staff is so amazing and friendly and the service is always prompt! Today I ordered my favorite Omakase Box that Brian prepared for me (one of the sushi chef's -- he is amazing!) which consists of sashimi, rice and unagi (eel), rice and different types of caviar and with a raw quail egg! This is by far our favorite sushi place in Carmel Mountain Ranch and area. We go here for our kids birthdays, special occasions and for last day of school year dinners. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick and accurate. We've gone here so many times now that we know exactly what to order for everyone in our family. We food tastes great. We have been going here for years. Wife and I love the chirashi is fantastic. I am actually writing today because had a lot of health issuse and am now diabetic. The spicy sashimi salad. Is the best meal ever love it more than a chirashi which has been my go to my whole life almost 60 now. Dressing is awesome with just the right amount of kick and carb free. I've been here twice - once for lunch and once for dinner. During both visits, the restaurant was clean and not too busy, and I was seated immediately by welcoming staff. During my lunch visit, I got one of their lunch specials that is formatted like a bento. I chose to have a salmon roll and chicken katsu. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bento. There was not an excessive amount of rice, which I actually appreciated, and the katsu was larger than I expected. Everything was freshly made and seasoned just right for me! My friend got the chirashi from the lunch menu, and it was beautiful, but had a bit too much rice. The rice was well-seasoned, and the fish was fresh. When my partner and I came back for dinner, we ordered a variety of rolls and the calamari appetizer. Everything came out pretty quickly, and the calamari was hot and delicious. For the rolls, we chose the sunflower roll, the California roll and the soft shell crab roll. I really appreciated the ratio of rice to filling, and while everything was seasoned right, we weren't a fan of the soft shell crab roll (a bit too fishy for me). The California roll was pretty standard, and the sunflower roll was our favorite of the night. The sunflower roll had really good flavor and we liked the crunch (which we piled onto our other rolls when we wanted a bit more texture). With their current pricing, I would expect this quality of sushi - however, I wouldn't say this was the best sushi I've ever had. It is a solid option, though! They check up on your water fill, and you can tell they care about the service they provide. Star Wars roll is 50% off and is something I normally get every time I see it on the menu. Their jalapeño wasn't the fresh kind, so I feel like it's spicier. Circus roll was really good. But my favorite (not pictured) was the tanned salmon. Inside decor is beautiful. They have a parking lot, but spaces are kind of tight. Around 630 that lot has cars circling for spots because it's packed. Highly recommended though. Ample street parking, lots of tables inside, friendly service and the menu houses many creative sushi recipes that will make your palette excited. Their menu has a variety of creative recipes. Came here with my mom one night for dinner since we were craving sushi and wanted to eat somewhere we had not tried before. We were greeted and quickly seated and served which was great! We ordered the baked scallop as an appetizer, the baked salmon roll, the salmon lover, and another roll I cannot remember the name of but had fried onions on top. The baked scallop was unfortunately underwhelming as it was more of a scallop and crab mixture which we did not expect. I think this dish would be more enjoyable if it came with crispy wonton wrappers to scoop and eat versus just eating it with chopsticks. The rolls came out and looked very impressive. However, they were a little underwhelming. The rolls all had a sauce on it that overpowered the taste of the fish itself and also a sauce that coated each roll making it very saucy and wet. We are not sure what the sauce was but did not think it was needed as it did not really enhance the flavor profile of the roll. I like the taste of the baked salmon and it was probably my favorite roll of the three. The service here is very nice and kind, however I likely will not return for the sushi as there are other places in the area that we enjoy more. read more

Meh it was ok for a quick grab if you're in a pinch. They do the strange tactic of up-charging most rolls then "marking them down" on the menu. Not a fan. Dragon roll was fine save for the strange tasting eel sauce. Miso soup was less than good. I love coming here because the staff is so warm and welcoming. The food tastes fresh and is served fairly fast. I find it very hard to not feel satisfied after coming here. The whole ambiance is Japanese, from being welcomed when you walk in, to the new decor on the walls. They can get pretty busy around dinner time and will accommodate big parties. There are TV's inside that can be changed to whatever sports team you desire to watch. There is a good variety on the menu and the pricing is suitable for the quality of food served. The sushi itself is a 7/10, 10 being the best I've ever had. It's very very presentable and everything is cooked and prepared properly, but the sushi game is super competitive so I would say this is a bit above average but nothing super distinguishing about the sushi. That being said, it was all extremely delicious and I am certainly coming back. I had the Jackie roll which had scallops and salmon in it. Packed with flavor and the salmon on top was a super nice touch. No flavors were overbearing at all especially with the light drizzle of sauce on top, everything was done perfectly and had the perfect balance of all the ingredients. I would highly recommend their Poke bowls. They're pretty sizable and healthy too. Their food did not give me a food coma which I am super happy about!
