This sushi here was amazing. Our waitress, Zoe, was very kind. She was very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant had a DJ and he was playing some classics. overall a good restaurant.

I had a really good experience at Harney! Zoe was super sweet and made us feel welcome. The sushi was delicious, and I loved the live music playing in the restaurant. Everything we tried was really good, and I would definitely come back. I recommend this place if you like sushi!

My daughter and I like to check out different places for sushi. We were in Poway and decided to give this place a try. It was just ok. We noticed that almost all rolls came with cream cheese. Luckily, our server checked with the sushi chef and was able to have our rolls made without cream cheese. The quality of the fish was just ok. I love salmon belly, but the server checked with the chef and confirmed that sadly they don't have salmon belly available at this location. They don't have anything belly here, which makes me question the freshness of the fish. Do they only get filets of fish and not the entire fish? The salmon wasn't bad, but it didn't taste fresh either. In addition to the salmon sashimi, we ordered 2 rolls and both came heavily sauced, perhaps to hide the quality of the fish?? We weren't particularly impressed so this is likely a one-time visit. The ambiance wasn't too inviting either.

Spicy garlic edamame. Messy fingers but a step up from regular.

Welcome addition to sushi selection in Poway. Fish motif, subtle ambiance, a little dark, but that's by design. Great sushi. RSVP if going on a weekend evening.

The service was poor. The food was not great. We were a party of 10 and were seated at the large table for dinner on a weekend. The sweltering heat inside the restaurant was unbearable. Once we ordered and the food slowly came out, there was a span of 20 min where a few of us were waiting for the rest of our order to arrive. There was a waitress who looks like she works out who would come to the corner of our table and tell me and my husband to pass everyone's water along. And then she did the same thing with our appetizers and entrees. So, are we supposed to do her job?? When she brought our vegan roll, she said "this is the fake one." And then there was the ice cream. It came out MELTED.

Yum yum yum!!! Came here on a Friday evening and it was not super crowded so I think a rsvp is not needed but the food and service was great! My friend and I ordered 3 rolls and we were satisfied. We ordered the Ana roll, Lightning roll, and the Sea Spider. One down sod was there were out of black cod and replaced it with eel, I wanted to try the black cod. Out of the three I liked the Ana the best, it was a nice, more refreshing roll. All the fish were fresh, nothing was fishy or gamey. I will definitely be coming back!

New sushi restaurant and we went for their great Happy Hour. It is from 5-6pm on weekdays. I think 1-3pm on the weekends. No alcohol yet but was told that it's coming in a couple of weeks. Food was delicious. Love the grilled salmon with green salad. The portions were big and prices were reasonable. The deep fried ice cream dessert was much larger than expected too. It came with strawberry ice cream which we wouldn't have chosen but still good. Will definitely be back!

We came in without a reservation on a very busy Friday evening. They sat us on the patio. With the heater on we were all comfortable with the temperature. My only complaint is the seats on the patio are pretty uncomfortable. I went numb sitting out there. I got the vegan gyoza roll and it was absolutely delicious. My wife got orange chicken and enjoyed it. My daughter got a chicken catsu bento box and scarfed it down in no time. My son got calamari and everyone seemed to love that.

We ordered the Kimchi & Bacon Fried Rice, a Poke Salmon Bento Box, a Philadelphia Roll, and a Dragon Roll. The fried rice was fantastic, but the kimchi was easily my favorite part. It brought just the right amount of tang and spice that made every bite better. Now for my personal breakthrough... Growing up, I was never much of a seafood person. My partner has been slowly introducing me to sushi, and this dinner felt like another milestone. The Philadelphia Roll confirmed that I'm definitely a salmon fan, and the Dragon Roll introduced me to eel... which turns out I also really like. It's always fun when a meal changes your mind about something you've avoided for years. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and another huge bonus was simply finding a great restaurant in Poway that stays open later than most places. Sometimes that's exactly what you need after a long day. We definitely ordered more food than we could finish, but that's just another excuse to come back. Looking forward to trying even more of the menu next time.

Cute sushi spot near Phil's bbq…read more Very warm and inviting inside and I like all the booths and how spaced out they are even in the center of the restaurant. There's a lot of businesses around this area so I can see Sushi Kami being a popular spot for a go-to lunch outside of work. We came for dinner and got seated right away and it wasn't too busy at all. It was nice but still casual at the same time if that makes sense. I will say the parking was a little tight and we had to make a bit of an awkward U-turn to get to the restaurant but the lot wasn't that full so it wasn't too bad but I could see this being trickier in the daytime. I really enjoyed both the spicy tuna and salmon. I've had a lot of weird spicy tuna but this one hit just right. It's always hard to find that perfect balance between fish and spice but I really enjoyed this one. The salmon was good too. The standout was definitely the tempura we got as well. It was large and came out hot and crispy and perfect. This is the type of sushi restaurant I could take people to who don't necessarily like sushi all that much. There's lots of options on the menu including bulgogi (next time I shall try!) and really good combos for people to enjoy. Ambiance is chill but still has that fun sushi vibe with the displays of fish (and I even saw some creative fish decorating on the walls which I thought was a nice touch) Service was nice and they always refilled our waters without us having to ask. I enjoyed the food and the vibe! Would definitely come back to try more ...and brings others along too!

The server was very attentive and our food came out quickly . I love the vibe and decor, its super cute and trendy. We ordered a few appetizers and rolls and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything we tried was delicious. The YTS sashimi plate was amazing; the fish tasted fresh like the ocean. I don't usually like raw salmon but it tasted fresh and the texture was buttery. The soft shell crab was tasty. The steamed gyoza was a bit bland but still good. We ordered the tuna lover, lemon roll, and another roll with shrimp tempura and fresh water eel on top. All the rolls were very tasty. The Lemon roll and tuna lover roll were my favorite. It was on the pricier side but the quality of fish was good in my opinion. It came with a generous variety of fish and felt like it was worth the value. The Gato Secret Nigiri was decent, with a few standout pieces, but nothing that really wowed us. Unfortunately, the Gato Special Roll wasn't very memorable and definitely didn't feel worth the $25 price tag. The Wagyu was what convinced us to order it, but it didn't have the rich flavor or texture you'd expect from Wagyu, so it ended up being disappointing. Overall, the fish quality was just average for the price. However, I loved their kizami wasabi-it had a bold, spicy kick that really complemented the sushi. The restaurant has a trendy atmosphere and friendly staff, but considering the cost, I expected higher-quality fish and more memorable flavors.
