Rainbow Roll

Delicious! I ordered a rainbow roll, a salmon roll, and the house special fried rice. The sushi was fresh, my only complaint is I wish I had asked for extra ginger! Order was expected to be delivered before 1:45PM. It was at my door at 12:50! honestly thought a telemarketer was calling at first, I didn't expect my food to get here so fast!

Chow Fun

This is the second time in a row that I've been disappointed by my food from here. Their sushi is fine, good even, but their Chinese dishes (half of their menu) are generally sad. These past 2 times I've tried noodle dishes because I don't like their sesame chicken (my usual Chinese order). Both times the vegetable portion has been mostly onion. In my Chow Fun tonight, there were 3 snow peas, some chopped bok choy, and onion. I swear they put an entire onion in my one portion. The rice noodles were overcooked to the point they were glued together. The only decent thing was there was a good amount of chicken, unfortunately it was bland. There was almost no flavor at all. I only ordered because my favorite Chinese food place was closed today but next time that happens, I'll just order a different cuisine altogether.

I ordered this grub hub and it came so fresh. It was a lot better than I was expecting for a late dinner. I will def order from there again and try some other options. Additionally, we ordered the crab raggoon and beef sticks. I just dove into the sushi. Yum!

We were in the area for another event and were looking for a light bite. Sushi can sometimes be just the right thing...so we gave Sushi King a shot. We ordered a variety of simple rolls and pieces. Everything was decent...but the ikura just simply wasn't good. It shouldn't have been served...so...it wasn't consumed. The rest of the fish was fresh "enough"...but I'd probably stick too cooked food here. Yea...the ikura turned me off. The sushi took a while to arrive, but this place does quite a lot of takeout and delivery business. The restaurant was empty but the phone was ringing off the hook. The staff was nice and the tea was good.

I stopped in for a late weekend lunch at this small restaurant in downtown Troy, despite the low Yelp reviews. I'll give it a chance. As I sat down at the 5-seat sushi bar, I was handed a pair of menus and I began to have second thoughts - one menu description actually put quotes around the word "seafood" - what are they serving? Why do they need to put quotes around the seafood in a seafood restaurant? I hesitatingly ordered a couple of maki and a bunch of nigiri and looked around the dimly lit restaurant with a bit of traditional decor. Luckily the music was muted and the TV was facing the main seating area. After a passable soup, my two-plate plating for the main was simple and competent, without any decoration. The rice itself was lightly seasoned, but pleasant. I was happy to see the chef slice my saba from a vacuum pack he had just opened, instead of the smaller pieces already in the cooler. Why? The cooler concerned me: there was a layer of ice cubes in the bottom of the sushi display cooler (photo). Is the cooler broken? If the name of your restaurant involves the word "sushi," maintenance of the sushi cooler would seem to be of significant importance. But, that's just me. I found the not-spicy tuna maki to be nothing more than a bland paste and the water content of the tamago was high. Is this because it was chilled overnight or frozen? I'm not sure. Also, the taste and color of the hirame seemed a bit off. Not bad, just different. I'll most likely return, but I'll give them a month or two to fix the cooler. 2019 04 27. S21.

The Vegetable Udon is good. I don't like seafood, so I'm not sure about the sushi there.

I've ordered delivery from them during COVID and the food is great! It's my go to sushi delivery now. They're fast and the sushi is great.

I think this is the best sushi on Troy, but judging by the reviews it might be hit or miss.

Sunday is my eat out day, and I picked up my aunt, drove to troy. Found d some street parking, went to the order kiosk and placed my order based on what I could eat and recommendations from the employee at the register. I chose, lunch combo with chicken and chicken teriyaki plate. May be, just the chicken was overcooked and a little fibery, besides that, it was very flavorful. I do have a couple more options to try, with me enjoying the food, definitely makes it an option for a revisit. If you live pork and beef, you definitely have more options. The restaurant was clean and well maintained.

Spam Musubi - The spam had a nice savory flavor slightly salty went well with the rice. The seaweed had a slight fishy taste that was pleasant with the dish. Bulgogi Kimchi Burrito with beef (2 Burritos) We might eat this there next time it was falling apart in the container the wax paper was sticking to it. The flavor was really good though. Slight amount of spice nice vegetable crunch tasty marinated beef. Side of french fries were kind of tasty nothing special. Nashville Hot Chicken Sando Combo came with two sandwiches we asked for 1 mild and one regular. The first chicken sandwich was a little dry it might've been the mild flavor, it was all right. The medium chicken sandwich had a little bit more spice than the mild same so so flavor a little dry also. Spicy Pork Bowl with SPICY MAYO. This had a nice flavor, a little bit sweet and a good amount of spice. The sauce was sweeter than I like. We wanted to try a nice variety since we had never been there and have been wanting to try the place for a while. All in all we found the food to be pretty good, not sure if we would order any of these items again though since we felt nothing knocked our socks off. We would like to try the poke bowl next. If you are ordering for pick up be careful about where you order it. Make sure you go to bespoke bowl's website. Important sidenote when ordering takeout here: We ended up going through what we thought was their website and it was some third-party site that was selling this restaurants food and we ended up paying between 12 and $15 more for our order. I showed it to the staff when I picked it up because I had looked at their menu in the store and saw the price difference. The staff seemed confused/surprised.

I took a trip to Albany with my family to visit the Capitol, and we were on the hunt for a good…read moreplace to eat. A quick Google search for ramen led us to Tanpopo Ramen. Pulling up, I'll admit--I was a bit confused. From the outside, it looked more like an old-school diner than a ramen spot. But at that point, we were committed (and not about to turn back toward NYC), so we decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad we did. The interior is no-frills and a bit tight for a family of five, but the staff made it work and got us settled comfortably. We started with edamame, which was perfectly seasoned, and shrimp and vegetable gyoza that the kids absolutely devoured. I also grabbed a Sapporo to wash it all down--solid start. Then came the main event. We ordered a mix: chicken ramen, beef stew ramen, two tonkotsu with double chashu, and a red curry ramen. The only dish that didn't quite stand out was the chicken ramen--it wasn't bad, just not as flavorful as the others. The tonkotsu ramen? Total hit. Both of my kids demolished their bowls--nothing left behind. My wife went all in on the beef stew ramen and loved it so much it sparked a debate at the table about how it stacks up against some Manhattan spots. And then there was my dish--the red curry ramen. Shoutout to our waitress for the recommendation. It had the perfect balance of salt, savory depth, and heat. The broth was this vibrant, bright red that just looked incredible--and tasted even better. Easily one of the top three ramen bowls I've ever had. I had my doubts walking in, but don't make that mistake. This place is a hidden gem. My only knock on the place is the table size for a family of five. Service was great. Now I need more excuses to come up to Albany just to visit this place!

Upon entering, the girl behind the counter just stared at us. No greeting. No direction on where to sit. No smile. We assumed it was self seating so we found a booth. She came over, poured our waters, still said nothing. We had about 45 mins until the restaurant closed so I'm unsure of what the cold attitude was for, as there were still 4-5 other patrons there eating as well. My friend is a vegetarian and ordered the veggie dumplings, and I had the same but with meat. Once the plates arrived, the one set in front of me was green, and his not. I figured I would double check to make sure we had the correct ones - I didn't want him to end up eating the meat ones if it could be avoided. Sure enough, the plates were mixed up. Honestly seemed to be done purposefully because it's very clear they are 2 different orders. The texture was chewy/foamy and they also tasted like old grease. Disappointing but we still had soups to look forward to. Our ramen finally arrived and I was hoping it would be the redemption moment of the evening but it wasn't. It really lacked any depth of flavor. Again the meat was chewy instead of tender. More distracting was how we awkwardly felt rushed as the server was shutting off lights and music...again...with at least 15 mins until the kitchen closing time. She seemed annoyed we asked for to go containers. At no point did she check in with us, refill waters, or even crack any resemblance of a smile. I used to love this little spot when I was in college. It was cozy, delicious, inviting. Couldn't have had more of the opposite experience this time around! And for this reason I would not return. I will travel to Colonie for Kuma Ani for better food and MUCH better service. TLDR; this place is extremely overrated
