What I ordered but not what I got
    Jane K.

Food: 1.5/5 Found this new restaurant so I decided to give it a try. Their menu seemed decent. They have sushi bowls, dons, a la carte, bubble tea etc. I ordered the sushi and sashimi for 2 for takeout. I had two issues with my food: 1) I took a picture of the menu because I was planning to post it on Yelp and I'm glad I did. According to their menu and what I ordered, I should have gotten 18 pieces of sashimi, 10 pieces of sushi, a chef special roll, a california roll and a miso soup... but that's not what I got. Of course I didn't notice until it was too late and I had already left. They didn't give me my miso soup and they only gave 6 pieces of sushi instead of the advertised 10. I was pretty bummed. It's been pretty cold lately and I was looking forward to my warm soup. 2) The food was just bad. The chef roll was decent but it had fried tempura in it. I would MAYBE recommend this place for rolls or anything nonfish related. The sushi is not fresh here. My tuna was more brown than red and it was almost rubbery. The sashimi wasn't fresh either. I was extremely hungry and I still ended up tossing most of my food out. I guess they did me a favor by shorting my order because it was less food for me to throw in the garbage. Service: 3/5 Decent service at the establishment. They were friendly while I was there ordering but when I had called to complain about my missing items, they didn't try to rectify. Ambiance: 1.5/5 The best way I can describe this place is "ehh". Nothing special. Pretty plain interior. Felt empty and cold.

$12 for 2 rolls on Uber eats, mouse for size comparison
    Yuan C.

Ordered from Uber eats thinking the 2 sushi roll for $12 would be a good idea since it usually is...when it's from a different place. As someone who rarely gives out 1 star ratings, the food was just so disappointing. Not only were the portions tiny but one of the rolls were 90% sliced cucumbers?? It doesn't end there... the rice too was either undercooked or old, there were pieces that were just hard to chew. Not worth the money and will not be ordering from here again.

Decent sushi place with decent prices. Fast delivery and service. Fish is the most fresh but for these prices it's to be expected

I am a huge fan of their bubble tea as well; I don't think I have had better across the city to be honest.

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. I've only ever been here in groups of two and I probably would recommend it for smaller groups because the space itself is small and most of the tables are two-seaters if I recall correctly.

It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

He ordered the Honey roasted duck ramen and I ordered the spicy salmon miso ramen. Before our ramen came out, we ordered our drinks which were a Thai Iced Tea (can't go wrong with that) and he ordered the Lychee Iced Tea. For apps we had the Veggie Spring Rolls and the Edamame which were so crunchy with just the right touch of salt. We may have visited on a slower day since it was raining, but I can tell that it is a popular eatery and can get busy and packed. We lucked out and were seated immediately and didn't wait long for our food. The server kept refilling our water glasses which was much appreciated. I thought my cup was half full and i'd look up and all of a sudden theres even more water poured. Overall it was a cute restaurant and would be perfect for a lunch. Although we had ramen, they have an extensive menu. Check them out!

I don't know how to describe it quite, beyond that everyone at the table agreed the food was delicious to the point of being nutricious to the soul. Overall, I'd strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a delicious and hearty meal at a bargain - a drink, entree with sides (during happy hour), and split appetizer with a generous tip amounted to just $46. We got the katsu don, yakiniku don, and chicken katsu curry. We shared and they all had unique, amazing flavor. They were even able to accomodate my friend's request that the chicken katsu be made with dark meat! The service was fantastic. The cocktails were incredibly balanced and a real treat with the meal. The ambiance is clean, classy, and calming. It is certainly worth the trip!!

TLDR: 5/5! For excellent service and great food. Also one of the BEST broths I have had in New York. It is comparable to some in Japan with how good that beef broth is. The chicken broth is excellent as well and worked since my friend has a dietary restriction. Sadly could not try the karaage since they sold out! Get it if you can. Food (5/5): probably some of the best ramen you can get in Brooklyn! You take a sip and it has so much rich flavor you can tell they took a long time to cook it. Just the right amount of salt that leads to explosive umami flavor with everything else included. Only downside is that the egg is an additional 2-3 dollars boosting the ramen price to 20 per bowl. Other than that, it's a great bowl of ramen I will be going again. I heard the steak was good from my friends but we got the okanomiyaki, it's pretty big, delicious, but only get it if you are a large fan of them. It's pretty pricey for what it is. Cucumber salad was delicious and fresh, nice hit of spiciness. Service (4.5/5): The person helping us is super nice, though there is a language barrier and that might cause some misunderstandings. I only brought it down half a point because you aren't going to get that understanding but they are very nice and try their best. Nothing wrong but it does get busy and you might have to call them for refills or other issues. The chefs are also very friendly. Cleanliness and interior (5/5): you can tell it's rather small, but modern and chic. Great for a night out to eat as they are open late. Great casual dinner spot and has a fantastic Lofi jazzy playlist that adds to it. Combined with the unforgettable beef broth, and you have a night to remember. J's Parking Advice- it's pretty packed at night because there is a lot to do around. Parking garages are a little far off too but everything is walkable once you find a spot. There is a street parking but it's hard to find, you might have to park far and walk there or public transport. We did take around 10-20 mins to find parking. So good luck! Overall: it's a spot I have to go back to especially since they sold out of the karaage! If that doesn't tell you how good it is not sure what else! Definitely a local favorite and a hidden gem
