I don't hold that against them because the organizer should've had a hotspot for the event, so that's not on them. However, I ran my card a few times and the last time I did it, it worked, but the cashier added a tip of $8.42. Why would I tip that much when I was in line for so long and they weren't bringing food out to my table or anything. Of course I would tip something, but the amount should be my choice, not theirs. Add to that the amount of food you get for the price they charge is stingy. I got the Kamayan plate which is 4 lumpias, two scoops of macaroni salad, rice, a half cup of what was supposed to be stew but was more like soup and a fist sized lump of vegan pancit. $35 for no meat? So I also got the bbq plate and it was small too. In spite of the tiny portions, and the long wait I was super nice to the cashier and even offered to let her keep my phone adapter when she was having connectivity problems. The whole time I didn't complain and was very understanding, but tip stealing just put me over the edge. Little did I know that I'd be robbed two ways. That's what you get for being nice. Now I gotta go to my bank to dispute the tip and I have to check my dad's credit card because we ran it through the scanner twice and I have a bad feeling they might have somehow managed to charge us those times too. Unreal. Avoid these guys like the plague.

After a frustrating experience with a non-catered wedding, I decided to try Shannon (a word-of-mouth recommendation) for a 150-person wedding at the end of August. Her business is new this year, but her experience and skill have been well-earned at VERY prominent local restaurants. Faced with a picky bride who wanted organic, local, sustainably-harvested fare, and a very diverse crowd, Shannon kept her cool and guided our experience from beginning to end. She researched and constructed our flavor profile, we tasted and debated, and laughed, and ate well for months leading up to the event. There were so many unknowns and last minute wedding issues, but nobody ever questioned how the food would turn out. It was perfect, just like we expected, bountiful and fresh and appealing. Our guests were thrilled. Think catering is just about the food, though? I was under that impression for a while,but I realize a caterer is the one person at your wedding who has totally done this before. Seen it, done it, knows what to expect. Shannon helped us choose our linens and decide what types of dishes and glasses we needed to get. She handled our bartending; we bought our own liquor and wine, but she had licensed, experienced professionals set up and serve it. Several times, I was close to losing my cool about the to-do lists I made for myself. Shannon would just tell me - "Hey, that's not worth worrying about. I know how to handle it. I've got it." And she did. And a bonus was she employs hard-working local actors and dancers as staff, which sort of made me a patron of the arts, too. Her staff is always poised, professional, and fabulous! I was blown away, and I also realized, with all the money I spend on ingredients and tools for the few times I try and have a dinner party at my house, I could just have Shannon do it. She does things so efficiently, it's actually a better value and much less stressful to have her cook for 10 people than for me to run around stressing out, not spending time with my guests, and ending up with a dirty kitchen. Plus she cooked for one of my favorite restaurants for years and comes up with recipes I don't know how to pull off. So Shannon is now on my list of must-have's for bbq's, for the holidays, for birthdays, for Wednesdays..... I'm so lucky I found her!

The variety of food is always solid, as there's enough for people to choose from, no matter their dietary restrictions. At one event, they served different flatbreads, fresh fruit, artisan cheeses, nuts, etc. It's finder food, which is easy to eat, especially when attending an event and walking around to mingle. Plus, the staff is constantly refilling plates, so there's never an empty one. I especially love too that for the events, they make a cocktail, themed to the event where proceeds go to the animal fund we're supporting at the event! Amazing. When I walked in every host was friendly and greeted me warmly. The space they chose to host their tasting was large and spacious, minimally yet tastefully decorated. The staff were absolutely impressive. They were kind yet subtle. You barely noticed them shifting in and out to clear dishes or serve additional food. I was also impressed with just how organized and attention to detail they were. Barely any plates were left behind from the event even though people were randomly leaving them in awkward places. As far as the office staff is concerned they were just as exceptional. I was truly impressed with their work and they color coded our names to match who we had been corresponding with, which I just thought was beyond brilliant. I've had the pleasure to work with Annalee, and she took time to answer questions even in a room full of other guest. She really made me feel 1:1 with her. LETS TALK FOOD!!! I know that's what you're here for!!! As you saw from the photos the buffet was beautiful displayed and the style they chose was perfect for doing a double sided buffet to get everyone through quickly. The hors d'oeuvres- I reallllllly loved the apricot & prosciutto canapé! I wanted to eat (5) of them!!! They kept going quickly as well! Tad small in size, it's truly a bite size taste. As far as the salmon fouetté.... not my thing. It had a strong salmon flavor. I did however enjoy the corn cake! Now that I was truly impressed with! It was just as corn cake should be! The salad- Not over dresses, but this particular salad was a touch sweet. However that is the nature of the style salad and I absolutely it. The lemon Orzo- personally I was not a fan of this. The taste was fine and the pasta seemed to be cooked well. However I don't always care for lemon, which could just be my personal preference. The mediterranean Mezzé - very traditional. Presented absolutely beautifully. Everything was very yummy from what I got to try. The Local Seasonal Vegetable- delightful! For winter it can always be hard to get local vegetables and have a combo that works. But these were done very nicely. It was a combination of beets, carrots,& red peppers. All of which were cooked nicely. The carrots to me were crunchier then I was expecting, yet I enjoyed the contracts. The Mediterranean Inspired Chicken- this was intriguing to say the least. The first time I tried it I didn't know if I liked it or not. The chicken however was nicely done. When I went to try it again I did enjoy it, so maybe it was because I was trying so many different things? Again, the second time I tried it, the chicken was done very well. Not bad for buffet style! Seriously! It wasn't done well, not chewy or inedible. This was a big thing for me as I HATE buffet chicken usually due to how dry it can be. This was not that! The mashed potatoes- YUM YUM YUM!!!!!! I said if these arnt good then we can't go with them because I NEED mashed potatoes at my wedding..... damn they were good. They also went the fasted. I couldn't ever get a good shot of them! So in the spirt to showing you how good they are, the photo speaks for itself. Now For my biggest dish and the whole reason I went (plus the mash) The Braised Oregon Country Short Ribs in a Malbec reduction.......... Wow Wow WOW!!! This was so delicious. I'm drooling as I write this part. The meat was tender and falling apart. The sauce was reduced just right and there was enough but not to much. It covered a lot of the meat. This really set my decision in stone. It was very very good. I wanted a dish at my wedding that people wouldn't forget and I don't this they will forget this I'm the best way possible! I'm originally from Pennsylvania and we are a meat and potatoes type of wedding (with very dry chicken and way to many homemade cookies) When my guest come, I want them to be impressed with the food they flew 3,000 miles to eat. When a large city event got in the way of our original date, they worked with us to change dates painlessly, and early enough in the process that it was no trouble at all. They know that they're more experienced than we are, and worked with us to make sure we had the proper event insurance, banquet permits, and everything else. The venue was exactly what we wanted, a nice, basic blank space to have our Wedding Reception-esque party for 65 in. That headcount felt good for having sitting & eating, with our caterers inside as well. We could have easily fit at least 20 more in. Melinda at the venue was also a breeze to work with, helping us get checked in, worked with Parks & police when we couldn't get trucks down to the beach, and checked us out easy-breezy! I look forward to the next opportunity I have to throw a party, because Parks venues are a great option!
