I liked that Danilo offered a suggested menu that I could add and subtract from. We had an evening event and the food arrived on-time. However, there was no warming trays. Nothing to keep the hot dishes warm, let alone hot. By the time the guests arrived, mingled and we started to eat - everything was cold. We did an assortment of heavy appetizers and there was no labels or menu provided so my guests would have had no idea what they were eating, whether the dish contained meat or not. So I had to scramble and send the menu to the venue, have them print and then cut apart and tape in front of each dish. Part of what I paid for was setup and tear down...only there was no tear down as everything was served in disposable trays. Overall, I was disappointed in the service at this price point.

We got lunch from The Picnic Table, Danilo's restaurant, to check out the food and we were sold. Danilo worked with us to customize a buffet style menu of heavy appetizers (mingling food) for 30 people. The meatball sliders and chicken satay were so flavorful, and the cold tortellini pasta salad, mushroom tartlets and mixed veg salad were excellent accompaniments. There's not a thing we would have changed - all our guests were raving about the food. Perfect!

He taught us several of his signature appetizers that are amazingly delicious and even more amazingly simple. He also taught us a couple of steak and shrimp entrees, and two yummy desserts! He knew his stuff well, answered a lot of questions, especially the what-if's for the amateur cooks and chefs at home! He was a great sport and taught us well. We'd definitely love to be catered by him someday or take his class again!

We absolutely could not be happier! From the initial phone call to see if they were available on our date, to inviting us to meet with the owner and head chef, to offering us proposals on a menu (we wanted "American with a French-twist" and had a large number of picky eaters), working with us to stay on budget, and the service staff on the day of the wedding, we really cannot say enough good things about Epicurean! The staff on the day of the wedding was really a highlight: I spoke with their crew chief on the phone the day before the wedding, and off-handedly mentioned my wife's affinity for strawberry lemonade. After showing us through the buffet, the crew chief was waiting for us at the end of the line with a glass for my wife! Epicurean showed an amazing attention to detail and was absolutely great to work with every step of the way, and I would quickly recommend them to anyone without a second thought!

We…read morepaid him to come and be a personal chef for my wife's birthday party since she is always the one who cooks for everyone else so I wanted to give her a gift of not having to worry about it at all and still having a good, quality dinner at her party. After the initial meeting with him we were optimistic. He seemed to be excited to work with us and find just the right menu to bring. We knew going in that we were a small gathering to cater for and told him explicitly that if he had something bigger or more lucrative the same day of the party to let us know and we'd completely understand if he turned us down. He reassured us after some days that he would be there. The day of the party however, he arrived four hours late. When he finally did make it, he turned on our barbeque outside to use for the meat like we had talked about, and walked up to the kitchen. He was up there for another hour or more as the grill stayed burning. We asked him multiple times if he was still going to use it and he kept telling us he was about to, but by the time he actually did he had burned almost completely through our full propane tank. The food itself was disappointing. He told us he had experience with the dishes he was preparing for us: enchiladas, smoked mac n' cheese, red beans and rice, and a table wide charcuterie board. The chicken in the enchiladas was dry and flavorless, he told us he smoked the mac n' cheese multiple ways but it was barely noticeable, the red beans and rice was so undercooked that both the beans and the rice grains were still crunchy and there was no flavor to them. The charcuterie board itself was alright, not as flashy as he had sold it to be but the meats, cheeses, fruits, and nuts were as described. My wife and I asked many of our guests what they thought of the food because we wondered if our tastebuds just weren't working but they agreed with us. When he had finished with his cooking, he filmed our party to promote his business, which we had not consented to at any point and even tried to get our guests to repeat something they had said so that he could get it on his phone. We were being polite but I was taken aback in the moment and was not expecting that kind of behavior at all. To top off the night, we saw him shelve another full pan's worth of enchiladas that had not been put out back into his supplies and he left behind his cooking bag with knives and an assortment of raw ingredients which we then had to deal with. He never contacted us to retrieve it. As for the pan of enchiladas, I don't think they were good enough that we would have even eaten them, but we had splurged and spent a few thousand dollars for his service and it just felt like a final insult to not even let us keep all the food we had paid dearly for. We saved the rest of the food but it truly was not tasty at all. I like to eat just about everything but I was genuinely not excited to eat these leftovers and that made me sad. I don't like to waste food, but none of us were eating it in the days following and it ended up in the compost. I wanted to give at least two stars, the charcuterie board was okay enough, the food was edible at least. But as I wrote this review, I realized I just cannot bring myself to do it. I am just so sad about this whole thing and as I wrote at the start, this has stuck with me as an upsetting memory for months. I wanted this to be the one chance for my wife to have a truly worry-free and delicious display for her party and we couldn't even get any part of that. Any of these issues on their own I could excuse, even him being four hours late. I wish I was exaggerating. But the sum of these issues was so maddening, the experience so poor, that I feel I need to let other people know so that they don't have the same experience from this company that we did. Thank you for your time.

Booking was quick and super simple. They reach out to you about a month before your reservation for the deposit, and then a week before everybody's menu is due to them for their planning. Getting that info can be a little challenging if you have a big group, so I just had everybody fill out a Google Form that I created myself. The day of, Chef CY texted promptly to let us know he was on the way and set up with plenty of time before our lunch was to start (1pm). Chef Panda accompanied him. Both Chef CY and Chef Panda made this experience 1000x better than we expected! They were both so fun, so personable, and hillaaaarious. Chef CY was the main chef while Chef Panda was the hypeman and sake dealer, but he also showed off some really cool tricks too. As for the food, it was delicious! The starter salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. We all absolutely loved the fried rice too, and we even got extras. I added a $5 upgrade of the lo mein noodles to mine and the flavor was ON POINT. For my proteins, I got chicken and filet. The chicken was marinaded beautifully, and the filet was SOOO good. Cooked to absolute perfection! I got to try a bite of lobster and scallops too which were both yummy as well. Did I mention the sake?! There was so much (they provide it) and the games that the chefs had us play were soooo freaking fun! We all spent the whole afternoon laughing. The price is also completely decent for the experience that you get, and the taste/quality of the food. 10/10 experience that ended up being even cooler than we anticipated. So much so, that we've booked again for a dinner party in September. Can't wait to experience Let's Hibachi again! :)
