As typical, quite a lot of items were forgotten (meaning never delivered to our table) so we re-ordered those. Some items showed up much later... Salmon and tuna nigiri were plain this time... We've learned our lesson - don't visit Kahori with a large group. Too many items end up missing in action, everything's placed on the same plates for sharing, and sometimes the waiting after ordering is quite long. On the plus side, the unagi was wonderful as usual. I'm happy to say I knocked down 17 pieces of unagi nigiri.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO!…read more Beware. Eat at your own risk, but I would recommend going somewhere (anywhere) else. When you walk in, the room is clean and looks nicely decorated. The hostess brings an iPad over and explains how to order. 'Order as much as you want, but no leftovers.' Ok. So I can't take any food home, right? Wrong. They will charge you for any food you do not eat! On top of what they charge you for the food in the first place! I'm all for not wasting food, but this feels like a scam for several reasons. Reasons this feels like a scam: 1. The sushi is 90% rice. Nigiri, huge rice ball topped with mushy fish. Rolls, way too much rice wrapped around mushy fish with brown avocado, mayonnaise and dried out out imitation crab meat. Topped with discolored tuna. Tasted as bad as it looked. 2. Gyoza. This was a fundamental nightmare. Undercooked, swimming in oil, falling apart and completely lacking in texture. 3. Tempura. Neither the shrimp nor the vegetables were coated in an actual tempura batter. The shrimp were coated in panko breadcrumbs and the veggies were battered in something thick and heavy. Tempura should be light & crispy. Not swimming in oil, heavy and dark dark brown. ~Remember....no leftovers!~ 4. Shrimp. Poopy poopy shrimp. See my picture for proof. And mushy. No texture whatsoever. Disgusting. 5. Egg rolls and spring rolls. Burnt on the outside, more weird tasting filling and undercooked dough on the inside. 6. Beef noodle soup. Ramen noodles like from the package overcooked to the point of disintegration, making the broth cloudy and starchy. I couldn't pick the noodles up with chopsticks because they kept getting smushed. Beef was chewy and slimy. Another nightmare of cooking techniques. Whoever runs the kitchen is doing not just a bad job, but the worst job. There were so many fundamental screw ups with this meal that I'm shocked this place is still open. When we decided to pay, the hostess came back, looked at the table and said 'oh, we charge for the leftovers.' What?!? No. I told her why we didn't eat the nasty food and she told us we should have told them before we got ready to pay. She said: 'I TOLD you no leftovers!' I told her it was clearly not our fault the food was bad and we COULDN'T eat it. Pointed out all the problems and she told us to just go, it was okay. 'But next time, tell us sooner.' Lady, there will certainly NOT be a next time. I'm sorry there was a first time. Stay away! Your wallet and stomach will thank you.

Heard about this through a Facebook group. Glad to have tried is. Their broth is so silky smooth…read more Their eggs aren't soft boiled or soaked in seasoning but they are still good. The roasted onions leave a great after taste and the chasu in the shoyu base was so so tasty. It gets a little warm in the small shop and they can't serve a lot at one time as they are really small but what they do serve is really really good.

My wife and I used to come here on date nights to enjoy an okonomoyaki menu (soup, salad and okonomoyaki), Udon, and some killer sushi. Tonight we thought it was time to pay another visit, so we made a reservation because they're usually packed on Fridays. Well, tonight we walk in to two other groups sitting. We should have walked out then and there. After a good five minutes reviewing the menu, searching for our favorites, we finally asked. "Where's the Okonomoyaki?" Turns out, the restaurant's under new management, but keeping the same name. The new menu basically has a handfull of appetizers, and as it turns out, lower quality versions of the old sushi menu. Dissapointing to say the least. For some reason, we still give the place a shot. It could be good, right? Wrong! I get tuna and spicy tuna. The tuna's okay...pretty standard, while the spicy tuna's a tuna avocado roll, served with a dipping bowl of spicy sauce. Even worse, this tuna looks like it's been out for a while. A €50 lesson learned here, hopefully not just for me. Don't bother, hit up another Sushi joint instead.
