Due to local recommendations I popped in for some takeout during an off hour. The place was empty and was all set up for the next visitors. I ordered and sat down to wait. Although there wasn't anyone dining in they were constantly cooking in the back as there were pick ups and delivery folks constantly coming in and out. Got the food home. The fried rice was good. The first bite of pad Thai had a strong hit of fish sauce so I squeezed the lime all over it and it took it down a few notches. It was really good after that. I have been in Germany for about 6 months (I live an hour away) and have eaten here 4 times. Yes, it is worth it! I recommend the Pad Thai, crispy duck, and the appetizer sampler. The service is pretty quick but my last visit the waitress didn't care to ask me how spicy I wanted my pad Thai and ended up with 0 spice. I normally do not write bad reviews but this is ridiculous. We ordered takeout because we were craving Thai food. This isn't the first time we ordered from them and they're usually okay, not great but decent. This time it was horrible, I ordered the soup and it is bland and no shrimp in it like it should have. I also ordered papaya salad and there was no papaya in it, just straight up lettuce and cucumber like I wasn't going to notice. The appetizers tasted like they were from the previous day and they were already cold. The Panang curry was so watery and bland as well. I'm just hoping no one gets sick from eating this crap. This place is expensive for crappy food and I don't mind paying for food that's worth the price. I'm super disappointed. I'm dumping everything in the trash because that's where this crap belongs. I don't normally post bad reviews, but this is ridiculous! The panang curry was extremely watery, bland, and the meat was tough. The appetizers tasted like they have been sitting out since the previous day. The tom yang pho tek did not have the ingredients it should and lacked any type of flavor overall. The papaya salad had absolutely no papaya it was just cucumbers and lettuce like I wouldn't notice. The food is normally decent, however I am dumping this food in the trash where it belongs and I hope no one gets food poisoning from this! I usually don't mind paying more if the food is worth the price, but for the price the quality was definitely not worth it. Never again! Stop deceiving your customers. We went to this restaurant because it was close to our house and we wanted Asian food (very close to RAB as well). I'm fortunate enough to taste really good Asian food so my standards are high. I love Thai food but didn't want to get my hopes up so I wasn't expecting much. For an appetizer, we ordered the battered shrimp (shrimp tempura) and it was good. For my dish, I ordered what I usually order, which is green curry and pad see ew. It was SO good! The pad see ew (drunken noodles) was very flavorful and just so good! The curry was good as well but I like a little kick in my curry and it said it was spicy (indicated by a picture of 2 chili peppers) but there was no spice at all. My husband cannot handle any spice at all and he even said that he couldn't taste any spice. I think you need to ask them for the dish to be spicy. My husband ordered the crispy duck and he really enjoyed it. It was pretty good but it was a bit dry for me. However, it definitely gets the craving sufficed. I usually like to get pad Thai and sticky rice for my curry but I forgot to order the pad Thai so next time I will definitely order those! They have a parking area but it isn't really big. They have a reserved area just for pick ups, which is nice if you want to order to go. We went on a Friday night right when they opened and we were there by ourselves for about an hour before people came in. First Restaurant we have been to since we landed in Frankfurt Airport. This Thai food was very very very delicious. I really enjoyed my Combo Thai fried rice. Clean atmosphere too. Nice place to eat. Decent good sized food. They have on the menu English and German. And on the bill as well. My wife and sis in law got green curry dishes with steamed white rice. I tasted that and it was good too, spiced up too. My sister got Fried rice with egg. All food was yum and service was good. 100%. A +. This place was easy to find, being right at the corner of very small streets. It has its own private parking lot that's extremely unlit. We ordered a few different things to share. The food came out on a timely manner and very much in the quick side. Tom Kha Gai: Small soup portion that's good for just one person. Although the hint of coconut did come through, the broth overall was still very bland. They put a lot of mushrooms in, possibly to compensate for how there were almost no protein (chicken, even though it's right in the name). This soup isn't supposed to be spicy aside from the little bit of chili oil that I also couldn't taste. Chicken Satay: Has decent flavor, but definitely in the oily side. The peanut sauce was also very oily. It slid around instead of actually sticking to anything. Pad Thai: The entrée fortunately did not disappoint. I wouldn't say it was anything special, but it was definitely tasty with everything cooked just right. The service was more on the unattentive side. I was not expecting anything much because I honestly never do at Asian restaurants. I know being oversea wouldn't change that. lol HOWEVER, after we ordered, I realized neither of us ever specified which protein we wanted in the Pad Thai, nor were we asked. Either they didn't give that option or they just guessed on their own. When I asked for the Thai pepper in fish sauce, the lady pointed to the condiments in the middle of the room instead of offering to bring them over. We went and got it ourselves and there weren't even any of the condiments I asked her for available as an option... They don't come by to check on how you're doing, and you go up to pay. These last couple comments may be the norms here, and note that I'm in no way counting those points against them. This place is very close to where I'm staying. Now I have been a lot of places and eaten at a lot of thai places before I even joined yelp. I hae to say hands down that this little mom and pop place has the best thai i have ever had. Thai food is by far one of my top 5 food loves ever, so that makes me very picky. Hence why i have not found a thai place in my hometown that makes me want to eat there everyday. This place is 100%, cant say enough,over the top, outlandishly, amazing! Its not much to it in the way of decor. Very minimilistic to say the least. However the quaint little place doesnt rely on fancy designs to keep their patrons happy. If you dont believe me look at some of the other reviews. The food is served in the classic little covers dishes so that your food can stay warm as you eat whats on your plate. Service -5- was excellent considering it was just 3 peolple working there. I sat down. And within a min she was at my table with a menu. Keep in mind she also had 6 other tables, each with two ot three people each. Food -5- yeah i said it. FIVE! I ordered the curry chicken in red curry thai hot (as a salute to the culture, that and i love spicy), thai tea, and wontons (which are made from scratch here, no frozen bag stuff). The flavors and portion sizes are incredible. Wait am I in Thailand? Oh no still in Germany, yes the food was that damn good. This is one of those places that I am planning to go back to a few more times before I leave. Sorry that I didnt take any photos of the food but um as soon as i smelled it the phone was down lol. My husband has been coming here for over 10 years! It's very close to the base and they have great parking on the side of the building. We like the convenience of calling in our orders and ease of taking it to go. He loves the way they batter the crispy duck. I like to order the drunken noodles or rhad na noodles with gravy. And my daughter likes the chicken fried rice. We recently went for lunch and saw they changed the menu and had increased the prices. Ok, for now only 3 stars but I'm willing to change. Tonite was our first time trying this place out. Coming from the SF Bay Area, we're Thai Food snobs. So here's my 2 cents worth: Ambiance: Decent except for the thick plastic table cloths on each table. Service: Pleasant, yet inflexible. Unable to ask kitchen for requests. Poor German knowledge. Better English. Has worked there about 6 weeks out of the 3 months the place has been open. We never were brought napkins. They bring you only chopsticks which is not Thai custom. They are used in the northeastern region where a lot of noodles are served. But generally a spoon is used with a fork to help push the food. No forks or spoons here. No prob since we like chopsticks. Also no serving utensils. Food: Best was Yum Woon Sen (glass noodle salad). Great dressing, flavoring, spiciness as ordered. In fact we used the spare dressing to flavor other dishes. The poh pia were ok, nothing special. See below. They did have sticky rice (not the sweet kind) and they served it correctly in a little basket. The soups were interesting. Jack had his fave, the Tom Kha Gai. It was somewhat cloying and looked depth. He used the extra ordered fish sauce and some vinegar from the hot pepper condiment tray as well as extra chilis to spice it up. My Tom Yum Gai was essentially a good, well done Tom Kha Gai. I ate half and wanted to save room. Mixing that with half of the fixed up Tom Kha made a superb Tom Kha soup! The gai gaprao tasted too chinese. And the chicken was sliced, not chopped despite our asking the waitress. It lacked the thai flavor which the yum had. Extra: After the meal Jack went out to smoke and the owner happened to be out there. Great guy. He told me how they used to have fish sauce on every table but it stank up the place. He said we could order all kinds of dishes we knew but were not on the menu: larb gai, nam sod, and more. BTW the reason it's called Thai Thai Orchidee is because there's a Thai Orchidee in Landstuhl. But that one is owned by a nice Vietnamese gentleman! We look forward to returning and trying other stuff out. read more

I love curry. I swear this place is stupid good. Other places say "I'll will make extra spicy" and Taco Bell mild sauce has them beat on the spicy scale. But... This place, is great! Veggies are super fresh. Like out of the garden out back fresh. The sauces are delicious. You can get as much heat you can handle from none to melt your face off (if you ask for it). Ambience: Nice clean little place. Went during the dinner rush and was able to snag a two top table with no wait but the entire restaurant was full. The tables are pretty much as close as they get before becoming uncomfortable but it was not an issue other than it can become slightly noisy. Food: Ordered the veggie fried spring rolls that were deliciously stuffed with glass noodles and served with a unique style sweet and sour sauce (6piece). The Pad Thai was exactly what you'd expect if you were filling a craving for them. We also ordered the yellow chicken curry and a duck. You can't go wrong with any if the curry or duck selections. They also serve wine. Service: Nice and friendly family owned restaurant. Our server was attentive and helpful throughout our meal. No complaints here. This restaurant is one of my favorite Thai Restaurants near Ramstein AB. There are two locations and the parking here is less than optimal. However, once you get inside you forget about the parking lot and focus on the great food. I always have the fried spring rolls for an appetizer and my favorite meal is the Pad Thai (minus bean sprouts). This place does not compare to their Dudeldorf location over by Spangdahlem. The menu is the same, but the food quality and taste is severely lacking in comparison. The pad Thai was mediocre, loaded with sprouts instead of noodles, the red duck curry was dry with very little curry sauce and the grapes in it had seeds, the Massaman curry had absolutely zero flavor. These are 3 of our most ordered dishes from the other location. The other location is the best Thai food you'll ever eat, we've traveled the world, and can't find a comparison. The service is also lacking. The waitress seemed extremely unhappy to have us there and ordering food. I don't even understand. We were never asked if we needed anything or wanted dessert. Had to hunt her down for a to go box for the tasteless dishes (waste of time because we just couldn't eat the leftovers as they were tasteless). Drive an hour over to their other location and you will enjoy every dish they make. read more

Went on a Friday night was semi busy. There was only one waitress that seemed stressed. Took about 25 min for drinks and both tables that came after us got their food and drinks before us. I got the yellow curry chicken which was delicious but arrived about 1 hr and 15 minutes after I ordered it. My hunger had already passed. I have the habit of never getting out of my comfort zone when it comes to food and my goal from now on was to change that. With their menu its hard not to (which is good). APPETIZER: My husband ordered the #06 Plamuek Thood- Deep fried cuttlefish...now thats something I wouldn't order but I tried it and it was really good ! I ordered #18 Tom Yam Gung soup and it was sooooo good ! BEVERAGES: I was going to get Cola but my husband asked if they served sweet tea and the waitress said no just Thai tea. I ended up changing my order to thai tea and it was really good ! You can definitely taste some sort of caffeine, for my personal preference I would ask for more ice just to help. MAIN DISH: we shared Duck and stir fry chicken. I would've put the numbers down but we honestly don't remember what we ordered. The waitress helped me on my order and my husband just randomly picked one...he pretty much inspires me to try new things, the only thing I'm hesitant on trying are different types of Seafood due to my allergies. I don't even know where to start. I lived in the area for a few years and ate here at least once a week. You can often find the owner at a small German vegetable market each morning, as she buys veggies for the day. Everything is cooked fresh. My favorite is Chicken Cashew. The chicken is tender, and the portion is large enough to fill me. The Thai Iced Tea is five thousand calories of delicious. There is nothing on the menu that you can go wrong with. I can immediately tell if a Thai restaurant is worth my time. I have a test: Tom Kha Tofu. It is vegetarian coconut soup. (to be clear I Always order vegetarian foods with exception of fish sauce. I eat fish sauce). To be fair this happened a bit ago, but maybe I hold a grudge. Sadly, this was a very bad experience. The waitress nearly argued with me to order something else. It's ok. I reiterated that I'm vegetarian and will order vegetarian items. She had nothing new to suggest. Anyhow, she brought out a mix of tom Kha and tom yum (sour) ... It was disgusting to look at. It was orange clear broth with coconut milk beginning to swirl at the bottom with an off putting odor, instead of the sweet invitation I had come to expect. I immediately stated it was not the Tom Kha (which should be coconut milk base) She told me to, "stir it, because that is what you ordered." And walked away. We still hadn't received our drinks. The others in my party ordered simple pad Thai and Thai Basil With cokes and waters and I had asked for tea. I walked to another waitress and asked if she could please help me with our drinks and my soup. She said we didn't order drinks. I explained what we'd ordered and she said she would give my daughter a water because she is a child, but if we don't want to pay, we don't get waters. I thought that was quite rude! I chalked it up to a miscommunication. So ... The food was brought out and they were trying to request the waitress to come back and she waved the back of her hand at our table and wouldn't come. Again I got up and walked over to where she was sitting with friends and asked her for our drinks and again to help with the soup. Another woman stood up yelled something back into the kitchen walked up to the table, took one look at the soup and said "this isn't right". She took a fresh spoon and tried it, then said "what is this?" And looked back at our waitress. Then my friend pointed to her sweet and sour chicken that was supposed to be Thai Basil..... Long story short, we weren't charged for half the meal. We never got our drinks, but my daughter got a kid's sippy cup of water filled from the sink. read more

I love Thai Thai Too. One of my favorite places to go eat. I enjoy the combination of the German restaurant ambiance and the delicious Thai food. I find the people at Thai Thai Too to be very helpful. I don't care for the original Thai Thai as much. The food is as good but the atmosphere seems hurried and the staff seems more harried. Either way, it is good food that hits the spot when craving Thai food. My favorite by far is the Yellow Chicken Curry. I also like that I can get substitutions in my food (broccoli instead of potatoes in my yellow curry) and that I can indicate how much spice I like in my food (very little) read more

Chicken Panang curry and we had a beef stir fry tonight. Peanut sauce was super oily and chicken was plain. Chicken panang curry was super salty and the beef stir fry barely had beef and more vegetables. Found our server to be rude and persistent on giving a tip. Would not recommend this place. read more

I frequent Thai Thai 2 with my family and the staff has always been friendly and very accommodating. The only issue I've ever had was asking for more rice from a specific lady who used to work at the original Thai Thai location. She either didn't care or forgot but didn't even act interested that I was asking for something. She has always had a sour look on her face and typically seems rude to others - hope she's not our waitress! Everyone else is extremely courteous.
