Futo Maki and Freestyle roll
Disney S.

Mr. Lian is in the pedestrian area of Kaiserslautern Centrum. I came here on the recommendation of a friend, who frequents this area way more often than I do. It's a short walk from the parking lot. As I was approaching the restaurant, I saw it was packed, inside and out, and thought "oh crap". I didn't think I'd get a table. Luckily, they had a single table open for me, so I was quickly seated. As I waited for my food, I was admiring how nice the atmosphere is. I ordered a Futo Maki and a Freestyle roll. The Freestyle roll is advertised as "our sushi cook's creative creation". At least for today, it seems to be eight pieces of salmon, tuna, crab (most likely krab), and avocado, wrapped in rice paper. The Futo Maki is five pieces of salmon, tuna, mango, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, and tobiko (fish roe). My only "complaint" about this roll is that the roll is rather large, and could've been cut into six pieces. I tried to eat it the traditional way, the whole piece at once, and about choked on it :-p I washed it all down with ginger lemonade, which was quite refreshing, but the ginger was a bit overpowering.

Floating noodles with duck

Wanted sushi and this place came up as near me. It gets very busy so be prepared to wait. Tables are close so if you are worried about Covid protocols it's best to get your food to go. They have an extensive menu so you could possibly find almost anything you would like. I wasn't sure about cream cheese in the sushi has I've been to other locations that made the cream cheese very obvious and the taste wasn't the greatest. However here I felt it was the perfect balance. They also had duck on the menu which isn't always common. I enjoyed the salmon and the veggies. The salad didn't have the typical house dressing that most restaurants have on it. The mini lemonade was good however they added pineapple so that kinda threw things a bit with taste. If you order multiple sushi at once they combine it all. One plate has double crunch and something tiger. I forgot. Then one plate has inside out chicken on it. The floating noodles was cool but trying to get the noodles off the contraption was crazy at first. The sauce was a mix of coconut milk and curry sauce. The duck meat was good.

I've meaning to try this place and pleased I did. I ordered the ocean platter of sushi and sashimi. I also ordered an appetizer of full with beef. The pho dish was a little small for the price. The sushi was excellent. One of the better places I've had sushi in all of Germany. Portions were decent and it tasted fresh. They do have sake, which is decent. They also have the typical German beers. Recommended.

Spring rolls and ginger tea!

Great service and good food! I came in Friday afternoon before the lunch rush. The plates and presentation were exquisite and the food came out quickly. I would definitely go back to get my Asian food/sushi fix. The only comment is that the fried oil taste was very distinct in the spring rolls (I was also expecting the soft shrimp vs. fried). Overall, not bad for being in Germany! Btw, cash only!!!

This fusion place was interesting and tasty, and it was actually a lot fancier than I imagined it would be. They have all kinds of cuisine on the menu from Japanese sushi, to Chinese dumplings, Vietnamese phò, and Thai curry. We had sushi that was fresh and good. The duck in the Duck Curry was very over cooked but still yummy, and the flavors of the curry itself were nice-- coconutty, sweet, savory, and a tiny bit of spice. It came with rice and lots of veggies. I ordered the small phò, but be warned, if you are used to ordering a small phò in the United States, it's definitely a lot smaller here. It's more like a starter. However the tiny bowl was packed with a lot of meat and noodles. The service was apathetic and lackluster, but we got all our food in a timely manner. Upon entering the restaurant, we were not greeted, so we stood there awkwardly for a minute before seating ourselves outside. Several people walked by our table and ignored us, and we finally flagged someone down to get menus. The ambiance is nice and the food is good. Despite the mediocre service it still deserves 4 stars.

On the way home from a weekend with my parents we stopped here again. Again it was a fabulous experience. This restaurant is huge with high ceilings. It has a main room with the buffet in many tables as well as a smoker room, a children's playroom, and a close off room for private parties. The main attraction is a huge buffet which features not only typical Chinese dishes including hot and sour soup but also a small selection of sushi. The highlights, in my opinion, is the Mongolian barbecue section. For those not familiar, this is a buffet with raw ingredients including meats (chicken, beef, pork, lamb), seafood (diverse fish, shrimp, etc.), multiple raw vegetable items, and a multitude of sauces and condiments. You put together whatever you want, clip a clothespin with the table number on the side of the plate, and place it on the counter by the huge grill. Everything gets freshly cooked and then brought to the table. The food quality ranges from very good to excellent and the diversity of food is phenomenal. Was also impressed me was a waitress (not ours) who came to my table and marked at this time I had come alone. (She meant not with a group). I was surprised that she remembered me after one visit several months ago with so many customers. So if you want to get a good variety of Asian cuisine with a Chinese emphasis, this is the place to visit.

Duck was a little dry, but the wings, hot-n-sour soup, and their amazing mushrooms! Just had lunch, but gets my mouth watering thinking about their food! Have gone back three times after that, and will continue to go back, as I have not yet found a better Chinese food in town.

My wife and I used to come here on date nights to enjoy an okonomoyaki menu (soup, salad and okonomoyaki), Udon, and some killer sushi. Tonight we thought it was time to pay another visit, so we made a reservation because they're usually packed on Fridays. Well, tonight we walk in to two other groups sitting. We should have walked out then and there. After a good five minutes reviewing the menu, searching for our favorites, we finally asked. "Where's the Okonomoyaki?" Turns out, the restaurant's under new management, but keeping the same name. The new menu basically has a handfull of appetizers, and as it turns out, lower quality versions of the old sushi menu. Dissapointing to say the least. For some reason, we still give the place a shot. It could be good, right? Wrong! I get tuna and spicy tuna. The tuna's okay...pretty standard, while the spicy tuna's a tuna avocado roll, served with a dipping bowl of spicy sauce. Even worse, this tuna looks like it's been out for a while. A €50 lesson learned here, hopefully not just for me. Don't bother, hit up another Sushi joint instead.
