Adding a new review: I love the fact that they always think about the kids with sushi dishes. Not only do they do soybean wrap so it's easier for the young kids to eat, now they offer a strawberry sauce so the dish isn't spice. Love this place and highly recommend! Favorite place to eat and they are located in the mall.

We always come back, it's still the best sushi in the area. Love the attention to detail on the plating.

Chefs Special Three Treasure Roll

I have been coming here for several years now. At first people might be like an express place? But I admit it has been one of my go to places. You can take out and sit and relax. I enjoy grabbing a quick lunch now and then. They always do such a wonderful job and everything has been so good so far! Even everyone who has come with me here enjoys their meal as well. I would recommend this place for sure!

Sushi Express in the Capital City Mall at Camp Hill is some of the best sushi you can get in Central PA. The quality of ingredients are top notch. I frequent the establishment often and have never been disappointed. The service is fast and accommodating. The menu is extensive but you can always ask for something different. They also accommodate my dietary requirements.

Valentine special

I've been eating here for quite a while. They have some soups that I don't see much elsewhere. Their service is good too. I just learned that they have specials for valentines day. The sushi is beautifully made, I love the plating! My personal favorite is the valentine roll but the sweet heart special is just gorgeous.

First, let me say I'm quite the sushi snob. I typically won't order sushi from a mall kiosk, but something about this one, I had to try. My friend and I frequent sushi restaurants often (sometimes more than once per week). So we decided on the Spicy Combo Sampler, Scorpion and Dancing Roll. We only paid $21 each, so very reasonably priced! The guy who made our sushi was funny and super informative while making our rolls. He even took time to create art with the sauces on our plates before serving. If I'm ever in the area and happen to visit this mall, I will definitely go there again! 10/10 recommend!

This place is no longer "fairly" priced $27.99 for (2) two sushi rolls w/ tip it's well OVER $30, also I've had off-smelling fish here---overall it's fresh but it's definitely SLIPPING! so sad, I hope they revamp quickly & get back to FRESHER prepared sushi!

Sushi in a mall food court?! Get out! It was pretty good. The bowl of udon veggie soup was huge. I only regret not having a fridge to take the leftovers back to my hotel! I only wish they were in a mall close to home!

For sushi in a mall this is pretty good. The place is a small kiosk type place but there is seating at their sushi "bar" right there. You can get sushi made to order or you can grab and go. The prices are reasonable too. The staff is very friendly and accommodating so if you're unsure what you like or what you're in the mood for they can guide you. Glad to have this for a quick sushi fix while shopping at the Capital City Mall!

Whilst returning home from an event in Harrisburg, I found myself hungry and in the mood to eat…read more Happily, Takashi was a mere 0.1 miles away, so I made the turn in and backed into my spot. There were probably 8 to 10 spots out front in their parking lot as well as street parking. Upon entering I was immediately greeted, seated, and handed a menu.(pictures included). There was a large selection of sushi, however I decided upon the salmon teriyaki. I chose a diet cola as my beverage, not being in the mood for hot or sweet tea, etc. My order arrived on a sizzling platter within 10 minutes. On the table was soy sauce and low sodium soy sauce which was what I used on my white rice. The salmon was accompanied with onions, sliced carrots, and broccoli, and everything was delicious (Photo included in my accompanying pics). The restaurant was clean, reasonably quiet, not excessively busy during my time there, and with an active take out service in action. The photo of my tab is includes. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with great service and food!

The dining room is spotlessly cleaned and organized. I would have liked to see more cooked rolls on their menu as I am not a huge sushi fan, but the rolls I ate were meticulously constructed, fresh and delicious.

Tried their sister restaurant, Kanagawa in Mechanicsburg for lunch with my wife today. After…read morehearing Akitas is owned by the same people and it's in Lemoyne, so a little closer to home, I brought the whole family back for dinner. Just like Kanagawa, this place is excellent and now the second good place for sushi we've finally found - after a year of trying places. For apps we had shrimp shumai dumplings and vegetable egg rolls (spring rolls). Tasty and quickly gone. With three kids and two adults, it only made sense to go for the party boat. It came with 4x soups or salads, 6x pieces of sashimi (we had 2x each tuna, salmon, and whitetail), 6x pieces of nigiri (2x each tuna, salmon, and red snapper), and 4x specialty rolls of our choice. The nigiri and sashimi disappeared first, and even my youngest ate more fish than she ever has. She usually just gets the cucumber roll, and did again tonight, but tried a lot of the fish because it was so good. The fish was all tender and delicious. We had 2x Terry Rolls (wife had one for lunch and liked it so much she got it again and talked one daughter into it also), one Queen Roll, and one Crazy Roll. All super tasty and eaten up. Finished off with one green tea ice cream and the fried cheesecake. Kids declared the ice cream the best they've had, and after reluctantly taking one bite of the cheesecake, they all tore into that as well. The only downside here is the prices are a bit higher than at Kanagawa, and some sushi with the same name at both places look like they actually have slightly different ingredients between the two restaurants. So just because you love a certain roll at one, you led better double check before ordering the same at the other. Otherwise, food was fantastic, service was great, and the restaurant was beautiful. Kids were super happy to have finally found good sushi again. Whoever owns these joints - thanks for two great sushi meals in the same day, and a happy family.

I'm going to say this is a repeatable offense...lol…read more Well-rated sushi in Pennsylvania is probably not a "thing" so that's a good sign. Housed in historic downtown Harrisburg, this sushi restaurant clearly does 80% of its business as take out. Maybe a handful of sit down customers and a steady stream of deliveries going out the door. I had the veg/shrimp tempura. Eh. Wouldn't repeat that. Ii also had the coconut shrimp roll and the summer roll. Both were good. The coconut shrimp roll was tending to fall apart so I had to triage to get it in my mouth. lol challenge accepted! The summer roll was awesome. Great flavors. Not too heavy and definitely something I would have again. Service was fine. I sat at the sushi bar which was fine although, I could sit anywhere really. Front or back. The building has a bit of a "historic" smell to It not uncommon for old building that are retrofitted for restaurants that have strong smells like sushi. It's not bad, it's just unusual.

Well, here I am again, sitting at my desk, constantly working and always trying to plan ahead…read more Never having fun, never going outside, all because I want to remain focused on something I plan to build--something really, really big that will hopefully change the world for the better. But like anyone else, I appreciate good, fresh food! Normally, I wait a day or two before coming up with something amazing for my food reviews. However, this particular review had to be written right away. You see, when I was younger, my grandfather taught me how to fish, and one of the most important things he taught me was patience. He also taught me how to recognize fresh fish, and over the years, I've learned to tell the difference between fish that's fresh and fish that's past its prime. Now, in my experience, cod and haddock are two fish that naturally have a stronger, fishier smell. However, I had neither of those in my sushi platter today! And no, it wasn't the sashimi that was the problem. It was actually the rolls themselves. As soon as I opened the container, all I could smell was fish. The odor was so overwhelming that it immediately ruined my appetite. Now, it wasn't necessarily the cuts of fish served with the platter. It was something about the fish used to make the rolls. From the smell alone, I had serious doubts about its freshness. As for my review, the presentation was great! I've ordered from this restaurant before, which is exactly why I decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, this time around, the rolls were a major disappointment. And since I don't want those rolls giving me a few extra rolls around my waist--or worse--I'm going to have to set them aside! However, I did enjoy the salad and, of course, the soup, especially since I'm finally starting to feel better. So, would I recommend this place? Probably not, at least not based on today's experience. It's disappointing because I've ordered here before and expected the same quality I previously enjoyed. But hey, one thing you can't always mess up is rice! So I guess it's rice, soup, and salad for me tonight. Sometimes the presentation can be beautiful, but if the freshness isn't there, the entire experience falls apart.
