First time here last week. Had our daughter here, she has been stationed in Okinawa for years with her husband. We all had wonderful food and service. It was my husbands birthday and when I mentioned it to them, they brought him a pc of cake with 3 shovel spoons, what a pleasant surprise and it was yummy! Very clean establishment and all workers were pleasant and accommodating. Bathrooms were clean. It is over an hour for us to travel but, hopefully we can visit again soon. Thanks to all that work there, great job!

Asoul was overall an enjoyable experience. I liked the decor and seating arrangements in the restaurant. It also has a menu with a decent number of options to choose from. The general tso's ramen was tasty and super filling. However, the katsu chicken lacked much flavor (not shown). The sushi was decent. We would make a return but we'd stick to the ramen options.

Asoul is a trendy ramen spot in the area and has the cool 2-level honeycomb seating. There's ample seating and most parties get their own semi-private booth in the honeycomb. The menu has a decent selection of ramens, noodles, and rice dishes. We ordered a smorgasbord of appetizers and entrees. Everything was surprisingly flavorful and there was a variety of textures amongst the dishes. You order directly from the tablet at your table and the waitstaff is pretty friendly and attentive. Great spot for groups!

We ordered: spicy beef ramen, beef was a little chewy, but goo broth and spice level was on point. Tokyo tonkotsu shouyu ramen, the broth was the best tasting and the ramen was perfect. Japanese Curry ramen, slightly spicy but not bad, tastes like chicken ramen but better. The pork was a little dry, but dipping it worked perfectly. The Thai tea was smooth, but very flavorful. There isn't really any service. You are seated and handed a tablet. They are timely when they do need to serve your table. We sat in honeycomb booth, which was very private. It was modern with a Japanese flair. Pretty cool looking.

Been here a few times with friends and family. I would consider this more of an Asian fusion place than just ramen. They have a variety of items from ramen, sushi and poke to rice bowls and unique appetizers. Upon entering you are either greeted and seated by staff or there is a kiosk you can enter your name into and get a wait time. We've had to do this a few times as staff can get backed up on busy nights but never waiting more than 15 minutes for a table. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside. Reminds me of a Japanese Izakaya mixed with modern Asian aesthetics. The honeycomb and private seating is a nice touch for parties of 2-4. You order via ipad and staff will bring you your order as its ready. They check in regularly to make sure everything is well and if you need anything. I got the Tokyo Tonkatsu Ramen with extra egg and bamboo shoots, husband got the pork katsu over rice. Both dishes were huge and flavorful. I ordered a sakura matcha latte to go with no added sugar and was pleasantly surprised when the drink was mildly sweet, just to my liking. Most places will over sugar drinks despite my request, but this one was perfect!

Stopped by Asoul Ramen and started with the Asoul Bao--one pork and one chicken. For drinks, we had the Asoul Thai Tea and a non-alcoholic Lychee Mojito. For our entrées, we ordered the Japanese-style chicken cutlet with rice and katsu curry, along with the Korean BBQ beef cutlet served with rice and kimchi. We finished with the Sakura Matcha White Boba Float for dessert. Everything was delicious, as always.

Wow, what an explosion of flavors and and overwhelming menu. Too much to choose but all good. My only "complaint" was the drinks were a little too sweet. We had no intention of coming here today but decided to stop in while nearby. Cool decor and neat seating setup with the upper levels. Unique for the area (or maybe I don't get out enough). Ordering is through the tablet at the table and your food and drinks are brought promptly by the wait staff. Food was excellent, really happy with all we ordered. Had some Ramen left to take home because we were so full. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

So glad a ramen specialty restaurant opened up in the area, let alone an upscale one! Asoul, as in "one soul," has a Japanese name of the same meaning (一魂). This establishment is well-designed and furnished - it impresses you even before you enter. The exterior signage is pleasing to the eyes, and the interior decor provides excellent ambiance for a nice dining experience. Seating options: Party of 1: You can sit at the bar. Party of 2: Get seated in the aisle or the 2nd / 3rd-level booth. Party of 3-6: Will get one of the first-level booths. Can't go wrong with any of these tables, except the stairs for the 3rd level can be a bit hazardous for some people. Physical menus are provided, but you order from a tablet. You can customize each item by adding extras or removing default options. You also get a running total so you know when to stop (lol). The only issue is there is no way to include special instructions such as "low sodium." Orders came within 10 minutes (the restaurant was at capacity): Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen ($16.99): This is the must-try staple for ramen (like Kong Pao chicken for Sichuan cuisine). Everything was on point. The Chashu pork was tender, the egg was satisfying as always, and the bamboo shoots added a savory umami flavor to each bite. What I was most grateful for with my bowl was that the tonkotsu broth wasn't too salty like most ramen soups out there. Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen with Black Garlic ($17.99): My son tried a different variation of Tonkotsu. The broth was darker and very noticeably garlicky. Everything else was the same. Jumbo Seafood Shrimp Ramen ($17.99): My wife also loved her choice. I sampled her soup, which has a very strong seafood taste (as in broth made from the heads of prawns). Very tasty. Lychee Shrimp Balls ($10.99): Came in 6 ground shrimp with a crisp and crunchy outer coating with toppings to make each ball look like lychee. This is nicely presented, but taste-wise, they were okay. The coating wasn't crunchy enough, and the temperature wasn't hot enough. But a good try for your dining adventure - I mean, I haven't heard of Lychee Shrimp Balls before. Another miss was this came 5-10 after the ramen, even though this is an appetizer. Regardless, overall this was A+. A must-try. P.S. Sakura Macha is coming soon at the counter in the waiting area. So you'll have specialty latte and matcha drinks to enjoy with your meal!!!

Oh my gosh what a cute place! Loved the decor and the multi-level honeycomb booths. We just moved to Harrisburg from San Diego and wow this gives SoCal vibes. Ordering made simple with a tablet at each table to place your order or call for wait staff. The food was delicious, we can't wait to come back to try more!

Loved the honeycomb seating here! We were a decent sized group but the seating reduced the noise from other parties making it easy to converse. Service is via tablet. It's not authentic Japanese, but everyone in my party enjoyed their food (mostly ramen and curry rice). Overall a good experience, but it didn't blow me away either.

Very cool restaurant. The honeycomb style booths are really unique! The decor is also great as soon as you walk in. We started with the chicken bao and pork bao and both were really good. We also started with the Lychee shrimp balls which had an awesome presentation when they came out. The last thing we ordered to start with was the Tokyo Tacos. They were great and all 3 were different but equally good. Our son got a California roll. My wife ordered the Tornado Omelet fried rice and I ordered Teriyaki chicken rice. We all enjoyed what we got. For dessert our son got the Salted Carmel swirl shake which he enjoyed. All the food came out very fast which was great. The only thing that was lacking was service speed. You order from a tablet and if you need a server you request them on the tablet. We requested a server and waited at least 10min just to get them to come and get some napkins. Overall it is a great experience for its uniqueness even if its a bit on the pricey side.

They even have some boba tea options. Not sure I would trust the mango and strawberry mochi ice cream though. I got the spicy tonkatsu ramen combo which comes with a pork bun and Thai iced tea. I was able to get the Thai tea less sweet. Altogether it was $20 which isn't too bad. Thai tea was as you would expect nothing wrong with it. Pork bun was pretty good, nice soft bun with slices of pork with lettuce, cucumber with a sweet sauce. Spicy tonkatsu ramen was alright, above average for York, PA. It came with a closer to hard boiled half egg, one slice of fish cake, some bamboo, a few slices of chashu that was marinated but a little overcooked, and pink ginger.. Why they would put pink ginger in ramen is beyond me but it was not a good choice. Flavor of broth was good and spicy level is more of a mild. They do have a devil ramen which is much spicier. Ambience was cool, they have a mist machine with purple lights in the middle and a Naruto figure near the door. They also have a small tv playing Naruto episodes non-stop. Service was good too. Servers checked on my at appropriate times. One of the bathrooms was out of service when I came, hopefully they will fix that soon. Overall, worth a visit to get your Ramen fix in York.

But why show up for the food if you can't even get a table!! But I was extremely disappointed with their reservation system. I had put in a request for a reservation more than 24 hrs before the intended time and while yes I never received a "confirmation" and on the email it does say "this is not a confirmation", however, I have never had such a poor reservation system experience with any other restaurant. I had shown up in to the restaurant in the bitter cold and paid for parking only to find that they never confirmed the reservation on their end. SMH. And was an hour wait....EXACTLY why I wanted to make a reservation to avoid all of this. Moral of the story, don't trust their reservation system, if you want a table.

Noodle Shack is located in a shopping center so there is ample parking available. During my first visit, I had the pleasure to try takoyaki for the first time. These soft, pillowy octopus fritters garnished with sauce and bonito flakes that danced as they reacted to the heat we're as exciting to try as they were delicious. Upon entry today I was quickly seated and was one of two occupied tables in the dining room. The waiter came over and took my order of Zhanjiangmian. My previewed the menu online beforehand so I already knew what I was going to order. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, clean and cozy. Not long after I place my order I got my food. Zhanjiang is a fermented soybean paste and to make the dish pork and mushrooms are added to make the sauce. To my delight, I was welcomed with a warm and savory noodle dish packed with umami that just seemed perfect for this cold weather. The dish itself does not come spicy so I requested a side of chili oil which I used had some heat and this just amplified how tasty this dish was. I was pleased with my order and would definitely eat this dish again. My only complaint about today's experience, which is a pet peeve of mine, is when the server places the check on the table before I am finished eating. Fortunately, most establishments don't follow this protocol. And although it is my only complaint I do not feel this would prevent me from going back try more of their menu.
