I have often wondered how this place survives as I have never seen anyone enter or leave. I am not very knowledgeable on Japanese food and perhaps why this was my first visit. Went last night with out of town friend who wanted Japanese. The place was packed, we got the last table. The food was great the service was great with servers looking like they are enjoying working there. Chicken tempura, shumai, lightly fine shrimp with avocado sauce., California roll and another sushi I forget.. BYOB I will bring plum or cherry wine next time. Prices are very reasonable. read more

Went there as a family this past weekend. It was crowded sinc e it was Dickinson Homecoming and Parents Weekend, but there was only 1 server and 1 sushi chef. The food was OK - not great in my book - most rolls had a similar muted flavor. Not sure if that was due to how busy it was or simply how the rolls are typically made. We had 7 rolls and 3 apps - which were good. Overall I'm not running back here, but if in the mid for average sushi, in what was a loud environment, I'll return. read more

We dined in recently. Was not greeted with a hello; every time we had an interaction with the staff we thanked them for bringing drinks and food to table- they simply did not respond. We ate our meals and asked for a Togo for leftovers and again they seemed put out that we asked. We paid our bill and left and they didn't acknowledge us. Meanwhile the couple next to us recieved several thank yous and the invite to return Throughout our time there. I felt like we were not welcomed or they appreciated our business. Salad was 1/5 it was full leaf lettuce with ginger dressing slopped on top and they expect you to eat that with chop sticks? Sushi was 4/5 - actually pretty decent. Chicken Teriyaki was 4/5 - plentiful serving. The negative attitudes towards us trumped it all. read more

Ordered takeout this evening, spent $70. We ordered steak hibachi, general tso, and sushi. The steak was supposed to be medium it was well done and was the toughest, fattiest meat I've ever experienced. The Tso's was absolutely horrible. The ramen tasted like actual packaged ramen. I was excited to try Mt. Fuji and left sorely disappointed. It was better than gas station sushi, but not by much. We ordered the green boat, which was a fresh roll. It was fine, it just tasted like avocado. The Mt Fuji roll was a big fried roll in a spongy batter with spicy mayo splattered all over. It was not good. The tempura appetizer featured four huge chunks of vegetable in the same spongy batter. It wasn't crispy and the proportions were all wrong. read more

UBER EATS ORDER: I cannot comment on the staffs service nor the atmosphere as I did not actually visit the restaurant. However they did have my order out in a very reasonable amount of time! I got a sashimi combo which came with a California roll, salad and soup. EVERYTHING tasted super fresh! The cuts of sashimi were fantastic! The rice was cooked to perfection, the salad consisted of very crisp lettuce and their delicious dressing. I'm not a big fan of the miso soup but it was nice and hot, in addition to the sashimi combo I also ordered chicken skewers which came in a teriyaki type sauce and they were delicious! When I'm craving sushi Mt.Fuji will definitely be my go-to from here on out based on such an amazing experience this time! If you enjoy a good roll of sushi or sashimi I would highly recommend giving this spot a shot! I literally stumbled on this place while walking around downtown Carlisle, PA. I was about to head to a good BBQ place nearby called Redd's that I had tried before. I'm from Southern California and the bbq they have is not up to par, so I seek out good BBQ any city I'm in. Being from California, we have plenty of good sushi. But this place was definitely of a higher standard. For starters, they had every roll at half off on happy hour. I expected the quality to be lower based on this, but it was on point! The spicy tuna hand roll was flavorful and delivered. The Fire Roll was crunchy and spicy. The other roll that I can't remember the name of was melt in your mouth. I'm giving this three stars but I really want to give them 3.5 The food is good, the ambiance is nice, and I'm really glad to see that Carlisle finally has a sushi restaurant. We sat in a booth and found the backs of the seats to be pretty uncomfortable because they hit us in the wrong places (perhaps all of us are the wrong height). I ate there over the weekend with my husband, sister, and brother in law. Three of us are sushi snobs. Our dinner was off to a horrible start. The seaweed salad that two of us ordered were really small for the price. The standard salad that two of us ordered (with the ginger dressing) was full of large white lettuce pieces and the dressing was watery and mild. One of us ordered miso soup and it was a complete disappointment. It was really watery, I couldn't see any solids in the bowl, and the person who ate it took one sip and left it alone. What a waste of money. These items were all "appetizers". I thought we were going to be really really sorry. Fortunately, the main courses were much better. Three of the specialty rolls were voted as being really good - one was even shaped to look like a little volcano (very cute). One person order the tuna sushi platter (I can't remember the name) and was happy with the assortment. I ordered the 9-piece spicy sashimi salad. It was way too small for the price (about $10). I'd rather get the hot and spicy bowl at Sapporo for less. BYOB. The sushi bar looks clean and neat and the fish in the display appear to be fresh. Our sushi and sashimi was delivered at the right temperature. This would be a nice place for college students wanting to take their parents to something with a nice ambiance. It would also be a nice place to meet another couple or just to get away from the kids. Hi everyone! Just tried Mount Fuji for the first time; and let me tell you it was awesome I really like the service and the friendly staff members that were their the food was amazing !! My server was telling me how they are now open on Mondays with new specials buy one get one tool free I got to try again on Monday and their all you can eat on Sunday (I will post the pic of the menu also) I really think everyone should give this place a try ! Food was great, which is why I have it 3 stars but when I called the person I spoke to was rude. When I arrived to pick up my food, I wasn't greeted, just yelled at to pay. As far as Covid guidelines There is no- contact when you go to pick-up food, which makes it safe for employees. Maybe there is new ownership, but I thought the employees were rude. I would love to give this place a full five stars, however the funky smell of the place was somewhat of a turn-off. My friend described it as smelling like cat urine in the carpet. Now, if I haven't scared you off with that opening I will tell you why this place gets the other 4 stars. The sushi was fresh and oh so flavorful. I don't usually like warm (cooked) sushi but I tried the Jungle Roll and it was outstanding. The fine blend of flavors made me look forward to coming here again. We hit it on a night where they were offering 50% off all sushi so the value couldn't be beat. They were a bit busy for a Monday night and should have had more than one waitstaff working. The poor guy was run ragged serving all the tables as well as fulfilling the to-go orders. I think he did an outstanding job and we tipped him well. I definitely be eating here again. read more

Had a great experience here last night. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki bento box. It came with a large serving of the chicken teryaki (and it was delicious). The box also contained a California roll, some dumplings, more than a cup of rice, and fruit. Plus this meal came with miso soup and a house salad in the side. A great value (yes, I tasted everything!). I opted for more of an a la carte approach. I ordered the Kimchi soup (which was as amazing as it sounds), 2 pieces of unagi, and the B52 roll. Unagi is my favorite and I'm not easily impressed, but their unagi exceeded my hopes. Very yummy. The B52 roll was some of the best I've had in this area. Eating at this place made me go from previously hating sushi to a mild addiction. I've had sushi all over the world, and I can honestly say this place has some of my favorite sushi ever. My friends and I practically lived here while I was in law school. And I never had a bad experience with the service (some of the customers were jerks, though). My fav is definitely the spider roll. But everything I've had here has been great. Plus, BYOB means we can bring a ton of cheap wine and not add to our dinner bill! Plus, I think this place is leagues better than Sapporo East, where I've been served old fish. If only they delivered. read more

Mount Fuji is one of my favorite japanese restaurants. I originally live in Carlisle and go to school in Philly. When I come home for a weekend, my parents usually take my brothers, sister, and myself out to dinner. Their sushi is fantastic, their service is fantastic, and they have a very delightful atmosphere. A lot of Dickinson College students go there often so it's a great environment to be in. I'm going 4 stars here sushi fans. While the seats in the booths are completely uncomfortable, seats backs hit me in the shoulders I'm 5 10! The food however made up for the bad booth. Next time I sit at one of the tables. I can't claim to be a sushi snob, but I do like my sushi to taste like what the menu says and this place hit right on the head!! First I had my first ever Prime Rib roll. OK not really sushi since it was cooked, but it was wrapped with scallion and covered with a sesame sauce that was pretty good. Next came the CRAB NEST roll. Now if you're from MD or just know good seafood this is out of this world. They take a lightly tempuraed soft crab, wrap with some stuff(I didn't really pay attention to the stuffing) topped with white fish, tuna and salmon. Drizzled with a white sauce. This was so good we ordered 3 more and just stuffed ourselves! The service was confusing but everything came on time and you never had to chase down a server. I think we had 3 different guys, but hey whatever works. There are some other places in town that could take lessons on service. The "dessert" as I called was their TNT roll. Tuna, Salmon, White fish, avocado wrapped in rice and seaweed, lightly tempured and served with the spicy sauce on top. This roll must of been 2 inches across. First time I ever had to take TWO bites to eat a piece. I'm looking forward to my trip back to Carlisle. This place is on my list for dinner, did I mention they also serve Soft Crabs by themselves as well.... What can I say I live by the bay and eat seafood like it's going out of style!! Enjoy yourself, just sit at a table! Oh yeah just one more thing, as for parking, it's a Carlisle thing. The only real place to park is Pomfret Street Parking Garage.
