Sushi E! Is a family run restaurant. We eat there at least once per week. The chef, tastes all of his fish before ever serving it to his customers, and we have seen him take fish that other sushi restaurants would serve and turn it away. They have treated my children wonderfully, and there are weeks where I have outstanding orders for my children's lunches. They have always been polite and warm to us. read more

I have been going to Sushi E for a few years and I keep telling myself to branch out and try other local sushi bars. Every time I regret my decision and go back. This place is consistently good. They have limited fish but Tony never serves you anything that is not sushi grade. We treat the menu as a guideline only. You can ask for a "Tony Special" and he will surprise you with oysters or something else that is not shown on the menu. The only reason for a 4 is because seating is limited and as a husband and wife couple, service is not good at the weekend. I strongly recommend a week day for that reason. read more

I have been going to this small joint over 10 years since they opened in April, 2005 and never been disappointed with their sushi even though couple of occasions I was not served for a half an hour due to too many people waiting there for their orders. But I didn't mind since I was there to experience the sushi Tony-the owner personally made for me. I can't find better sushi place than Sushi E around South Bay. This is the BEST place for sushi in Los Gatos. Customer service is on point. The rolls are beyond great. Sashimi is fresh. If I'm in town again I'm definitely coming back. If wifey is craving sushi it's worth driving two hours to get the best sushi you can get. If you haven't had their sushi then your missing out on some really good sushi. We dropped in for lunch and made the mistake of using the lunch menu. Maybe the $15 rolls are better. The food was way below average for a sushi restaurant. The sushi chef stuffed his mouth with food the whole time we were there. He did that while using the same gloves worn during food preparation.. Then he'd spit the excess food into a bucket (?) behind the counter. We never saw the waitress again and had to pay the bill up at the register. We were the only 2 customers in the place the whole lunch hour. I guess there's a reason for that. If we ever return to this place, it'll be for dinner. That's a big maybe. read more

I walk in, the tables are full of food without any people. 3 kids are running around eating off the half eaten other customer plates and the 'hostess' is playing with them. This tells me all I need to know about the clientele. I ask for a table and they have a two top seated perilously close to another two top not to mention the rampant children whose father is too engrossed in himself to bother to control anything. I balk and say I can wait for another table to be cleared, I wait for 15 mins. She says its going to take her a long time because they have no one in the back to clean which gives me reason to pause again, but I have a very hungry 7 year old with me so I give up and sit at the two top with my kid. She leaves us there unattended for 30mins. The couple seated next to us had to wait for over an hour between appetizers and their sushi. They only ordered california roll to boot. The 'regulars' come in. A table is cleared for them by piling up the dishes from that tabe onto the table next to mine which is already overflowing. The one behind me is still not cleared. They are provided with a menu and then the 'hostess' walks to the back. What a rude not to mention disgusting restaurant. Forget about sushi with those dirty dishes lying around for over 45mins, I would not want to even attempt anything cooked! We left. Any place that cannot keep front of house clean cannot possibly meet my standards in the back. I would hate to think of the rotting half eaten food a perfect attraction for vermin just lying around in the back. Save your money or spend it elsewhere. UUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!! No offense to Duke E, who characterizes the food here as "ehh" but: He's cracked! We live close to Sushi E and watched with dismay over the years as restaurants came and went in their little spot. We thought it just had bad karma. When a sushi place opened, we thought "who in their right mind will come for sushi in a teeny strip mall with a Safeway?" Well, I am here to tell you that people do come, and in droves. Sushi E is a family run business and they make absolutely the best sushi in town. It compares with the best sushi restaurants in SF. Very innnovative maki and the freshest sashimi. Try the Rock n Roll and the Jonathan Hamachi. Blondie and Las Vegas are deep fried rolls, which I supposed is oxymoronic for sushi but they are melt in your mouth good. They also do wonderful udon, donburi and a terrific bento box for the kiddies. And their miso salad dressing is so good it excuses the fact that salad is basically iceberg lettuce with carrot shreds. You always get a cute carved orange at the end, whether you ask for it or not. Sue will more than likely be your server and she is a doll. She calls me Lora although my name is Nora but I don't mind because she is so cute, friendly and helpful. It's better to get in there when there is not a crowd because otherwise you might have to wait but if you do, it's worth it. They have made a go of a space that no one else made work and that is the best evidence of their talent. Sushi E ROCKS! read more

Sushi E is delicious. The service is great. The people who work here are friendly and seem genuinely happy to see you. The food and service are consistently excellent regardless of how busy the restaurant is. We've eaten here many times and try a different mix of appetizers, sashimi, and maki each time we visit. Sometimes, there is a brief wait for a table but this is rare. The staff try to rearrange the seating to make space for everyone. read more

Typical Korean-owned and operated Japanese restaurant. Service is not fast, but they've always been very friendly. I took my kids here on a whim and was really disappointed. When we arrived, there was only one other table seated, so I thought that we would be served fairly quickly. The waitress was not very friendly and extremely slow. I ordered something and told her that I could not eat gluten - I don't think she understood because my sushi came with tempura crunch on top of it (which wasn't listed on the menu). Besides taking half an hour to get our check, I was appauled at something else. I saw the waitress take the rice noodles off of a plate that she cleared from a table and give them to the chef to reuse. The same was done with the ginger. I don't think they saw me looking, but I am sure that this is a health code violation! I wouldn't go back for those reasons and I've had better sushi at other, cleaner restaurants. read more

Me and my girlfriend both were salivating for seafood and it needed to be in the Campbell area because she's addicted to American Idol and we didn't have time to travel farther. So I checked in with my trusty yelplings to see what's happening. It looked like the only seafood place in Campbell worth going to was Hawg's but it's pretty pricey and then I thought what about sushi? That's seafood right? Well Sushi E! came up and it sounded interesting. Sure enuff, It's a little tiny place where no one knows about. We got there about 6:50pm on a Wednesday and there was only one couple in the place. I was a tad bit leery but we went for it. Walked right up to the sushi bar that only had room for 4. The staff was really nice, and we checked the menu. BOOM! Ok, this is a good sign. There's a very interesting picture on the cover of the menu that you need to see! (No spoilers here) Then we ordered up some sapporo beer, ebi tempura roll and a maui roll with this delicious seared tuna covering. Only one sushi chef "Antony" but he was rolling like 2. We got some hamachi (raw yellowfin tuna) and it was perfect. Fresh, slighty cooler then room temp with a great texture. I asked him if he wanted a beer and he said sure and called me a "Wise guy". I'm sure he meant it in a nice way :) So by 7:15 the place was full with lots of regulars lining up for take out orders. The only problem is the place is very small and the "to-go" customers kinda crowd you at the bar. So 1 star off for that. 4 booths and 4 spots at the sushi bar but go early or be prepared to wait. Price is average. It's totally worth it for the food and service. read more

I wanted to like this place because I proudly found this place on Yelp, but the food and experience fell dramatically far short of expectations. I have no idea why this place is rated so highly unless there is absolutely nothing else to eat around here. The sushi quality is mediocre, and the quantities are very small given the price. Our wives had to go get sandwiches afterwards, and they aren't big eaters. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, it is worth your time to make the short drive to San Jose to pick up sushi elsewhere. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants and my wife and I go there often. We really like the lunch specials and find that the food is always fresh and good. The English needs a little work so be careful about ordering a specific change to a menu item because they may not understand what you are asking. The prices are good and this is one good restaurant! It is located in a little strip mall and the ambiance isn't that great....but the sushi is pretty good. The rolls are a little bigger than I'm used to, more rice I thought. It's fresh and quick. My husband and I eat here often--and every time we cringe at the extremely phallic menu cover--reason enough to at least try the place--ha! The sushi rolls aren't the most creative, but they are consistently good and the fish is always extremely fresh. I have never had a problem with the service here--they are always attentive and very pleasant. The place is so dang small, it's pretty easy to get their attention if you need something. We have been going to Sushi E! for years. After going a few times, I felt like family - the warm, welcoming, I am home feeling, by the owners Tony and Sue, and staff. Although not authentic Japanese (I believe it's Korean), the place has surprisingly good sushi. If you're a hard-core sushi fan (i.e. sashimi first, followed by nigiri, and NO MAKI) you better sit at the bar at Kitsho instead). But if you have an open mind and are not such a snob as I guess I am, then this place is really rather good. I won't say great, because I leave that for a different calibre restaurant ... but you definitely could do a lot worse. They have some interesting rolls if that floats your boat (there are no boats). The negatives are: there is little ambiance and it does cost a pretty penny. I know nothing of bento boxes, udons, and whatever else that doesn't have raw fish ... and I really don't care. read more
