We called in asking for seating and the lady was extremely friendly! She reserved a table for my girlfriend and I! We had no idea and she put a little reserve sign which was really cute! As soon as we walked in their hospitality was so amazing. It seems to be a husband and wife that run the business and they both are running it which is so sweet. The fish taste really good and I would say it's definitely better than most place, however, two of the rolls we ordered had cream cheese. I overlooked that and I wasn't too fond of that.

2. Dragon Roll

We only got one picture (the dragon roll) because we were so into the food, but everything was great. It's a nice cozy relaxed place. The sushi was yummy (California roll, Dragon roll, Amazing grace roll, and Blondie roll) and the hospitality was so pleasant. The lady was very kind and helpful. My bf and I really enjoyed the experience there. 10/10.

When the food is good, it is gone fast:)

Great service and food. Enjoyed every dish and the warm hospitality of the owners who cooked and served my food. Definitely coming back.

Tony and Sue are AMAZING! Right from the start we were greeted with an excited smile. They seated us in a booth right next to the sushi station and we watched our food get made right in front of us. It's very family friendly and the space is very calm. My girlfriend and I LOVE this place and can't wait to come again. Thank you Sue and Tony!

Seared scallop salad - scallops were not seared, 100% raw, uncooked and cold. Not OK. Also got the sushi order wrong.

One drawback is their seaweed salad. It isn't worth one bite. They used to have it perfect, but not the last few years. Now, it's super dry, hard to chew and not properly seasoned (missing seasoning). Quite disappointing, bc that was always something extra I got. Safeway down the street has it better, which says it all!

A very short wait and my order arrived, nicely presented. The rolls tasted fresh and were nicely constructed. I know veggie rolls are not a thorough reflection of a Japanese restaurant but sometimes places get these simple things wrong. The only thing I didn't prefer was that the rice vinegar taste leaned a little more sweet than I prefer. Despite that I had no problem with the meal. But next time I'll order something different. Service was excellent and very prompt. Prices were reasonable. $15 total for my two rolls. The ambiance is no frills/casual and I was fine with that. You can dine inside or outside. Dog friendly on the outside patio! I sat inside as it was pretty warm outside. Since they're on the main strip in downtown LG, you'll need to park on the street or elsewhere nearby as they don't have their own parking lot. If presented with the opportunity I would come back to try some other dishes.

The atmosphere was relaxed, perhaps in part due to it being a Sunday. The prices are in line with other sushi restaurants in the area. Perhaps it's more my age than anything else, but sushi seems far more expensive these days. In any event, we were able to get a reasonable amount of food for a reasonable price. I ate some food before going, so I was able to get pleasantly full for under $30. The food was good, but nothing differentiated it from other good sushi restaurants in terms of taste. The ahi topping my role was cut very thin, which made for a better presentation than it did for eating. I'd rather pay a slightly higher price and get a thick cut of fish. That said, I did like the thinly sliced decorative lemon and orchid on the plate. Really upped the aesthetics. In short, it's a nice place, but given the price (of sushi in general), the cuts I received here, and the huge number of local sushi restaurants, I'm more likely to try somewhere else than come back, even though this is almost walking distance for me.

We were 10 minutes late (saying goodbye to children) and the restaurant was pleasant. Thankfully, they were still taking in orders for drinks and had not started. Drink menu is heavily concentrated on sake. Not being a heavy sake drinker, we naturally headed over to wine and beer menu. It is much slimmer pickings than the sake, but enjoyed our sparkling wine paired with the kaiseki very much. The dishes were all excellent. The thing that lingered in my mind even till this day, a week after I am writing this review, is that umami flavor bomb chawanmushi with mosel mushroom and uni (never can go wrong with uni). The other thing that I thought took more skill, attention, and was unique to the chef's background was their dashi/broth. It was a complex of flavors from the sea that all paired well together. I thoroughly enjoyed every sip, and the flavors waking up all parts of my tongue. One more part - the meat dishes were not my favorite. They just do the seafood so well. Oh! And dessert, of course, the Japanese melons were as if it was dipped in fructose lol Ambiance is dressy and date-worthy :) the elderly ladies beside me were sporting their Birkens and taking pics of their food next to it

I liked their traditional izakaya decor inside. They also had a tatami seating area towards the back. We decided to go family style so that we could try more items on their menu. We ordered the Niku Trio Set, which included braised pork, grilled chicken wings, niku tofu, edamame, and shishito. The food came out really quickly. Other than the edamame, which was very bland, everything was very flavorful. The pork was very soft, and the sliced thin beef paired really well with the tofu in the niku tofu. Both dishes came piping hot, and were very comforting, like home-cooked food. The shishito peppers came with a lot of bonito flakes; they're charred very well and not spicy at all. Wings well nicely grilled, too. The seafood okonomiyaki was not bad. It's a bit softer than I expected, but had quite a lot of seafood. The large Deluxe Meshi was pretty big. It came in a hot stone pot with a generous amount of salmon, eel, flying fish roe and a poached egg. I loved how crispy the rice around the pot was. No wonder it's their most popular dish. If you like authentic Japanese food, I would highly recommend this place.

The drunken noodles and fried rice are always packed with flavor, and the fresh spring rolls are such a refreshing starter. This time we tried the Taiwanese bamboo shoot dish from the Chef's Recommendation section. It was definitely spicy, though not quite as fiery as the last time we had it. Maybe they toned it down a bit... or maybe we were braver last time We also ordered the Khao Soi, which was pretty decent. Fewer sides compared to some other places, but still really tasty overall. I have never been treated this way at any restaurant. At the end of the meal, I made it clear to her that her behavior was wrong and that customers should not be treated this way. I looked at my watch and replied, "That's two hours from now and there are lots of tables open right now." We got seated, our food arrived, and then it started raining harder. Instead of quietly moving out the couches to add additional tables and chairs, the staff dragged them all across the floor, creating loud scraping noises the entire time. It made for a really unpleasant dining experience. We asked for a little more coffee, but it never came. We even flagged down our server and she just stared at us blankly as if we had never asked. We eventually just got up and left. The food was good, but it doesn't make up for the terrible service and rude treatment.

Calamari was just a mere couple bites, not to share, though it was crispy. The curries were either super spicy or super bland, and meat and fish were dry.
