This tiny hole in the wall has become one of my favorites. The Toro tuna and aged tofu salad are to die for! What they lack in ambience they make up for in the food. Many yummy sounding rolls on the menu. I've only tried a few, but I will keep coming back. Pretty friendly service too. read more

If you go to this place you have to try something different and explore their rolls or sashimi. Something out of your comfort zone. I really wanted to like Sushi E since it is walking distance from where I live, but in spite of all the good food reviews on Yelp, there is no getting past poor service. From the beginning of our visit it was clear that this was a self-serve affair. If we needed something, a table for instance, it would be up to us. Even though the restaurant was only half-full, the wait staff was able to provide perfunctory duties at best and otherwise ignored us for most of the evening. The wait was long, but we were not in a hurry...just in need of a little attention. The tables by the front window in this tiny restaurant seem to be too much of trek for the staff. It would appear that Sushi E has a following of regulars and they have found something here that seems to elude me. I would describe my one prior visit as unremarkable. I've come a few times because it's close to my house. The service is great and the owners are such sweethearts. The food is good and there's an extensive list of sushi to order. I just recently saw the Gary Danko roll, so next time I'm ordering that for sure. Also, at the end of the meal, one of the owners usually brings out a carved and extremely fresh tangerine for a little dessert. Really nice! read more

I came here for lunch because of good yelp reviews...I have to say I wasnt totally impressed. The best thing about this place is that the lady working here was SO NICE. The menu does have a few interesting items that I dont usually see on the menu at most Japanese restaurants. The dressing on the salad that came with the bento box was very dissapointing. Usually the dressing on salads like this is a LIGHT but creamy dressing- this one was very sweet and almost gooey. I dont have any complaints about my sashimi, and the calamari teriyaki was very average- sauce was again, gooey. I wouldnt go out of my way to come here again, but I really appreciated the friendliness of the waitress. read more

Tony and Sue are great and the food is DELICIOUS... Tony takes his time creating beautiful and tasteful dishes. The food is always so fresh and has so much flavor. I have never been disappointing for as many years that I have been coming here. I would highly recommend you treat yourself to some amazing Sushi and Rolls. My favorite and goto is the Volcano Magura Roll (spelling?), it comes on a bed of greens with a great dressing, so no need to order a salad (even though, they are delicious as well). I ordered a Togo order. At first they said it was going to be 30 minutes​ and they did not look busy at all. So I was really hungry so I tried cancelling my order and then they said 10 minutes. If you are in a hurry for Togo I would not recommend. read more

Terrible service tonight. Sat down for dinner with wife. Got menus and waited to order. Only one other table with 2 people. Our menus were closed and waiting. Then 3 loud customers came in and said waitress name Sue's name 7 times. Another 10 mins later, Sue comes out and takes their order without talking to us. On her way back to kitchen with glare from my wife, she said she would be right with us. 5 mins later we walked out and gave her the thumbs down service. Good Bye sushi E. I have been going to this particular restaurant since it opened! Ever since Sushi E has opened I stopped going to other Japanese restaurant. I have been to Japan and had tried many places both in Japan and the us and my taste bud wants reasonable quality sushi. Their sushi and rolls are good, fresh, and tasty. People who gave bad ratings maybe went there at the bad time. The service cannot be good ALL the time. However, when I went there( and I go with a large group of people), the service was really good. I live in Fremont, CA and I go all the way to Los Gatos just to get their service and foods! p.s Their tempura dish is also good with the warm ponzu sauce, fried out of fresh oil. read more

Well I used to love this place. Its right by my house, great sushi and for a few years great service...fast forward to now and you have bad service. The last two times I have gone there they main waitress was rude, ignored us and sushi took forever. There was only one person in the place with us. She gave us menus and never asked us for something to drink and came back in two minutes and wanted to know if were ready to order. I asked for change the last time I was there and she said she didnt have any change..maybe she was hoping for a $20 tip but with her attitude I didnt want to giver her anything. She went next door to the massage place and got change. I hope she see's this review and I have read a few similar reviews becasue the place is cute and the sushi is great..its expensive though and when you add in crappy service forget it. I ordered 2 rolls, a salad and miso soup. I give the rolls a 2 in ratings overall. Basically my rolls was half cream cheese, half avocado and a thin slice of salmon in between. I waited a good 10mins for my spicy mayo and the gape wine was horrible. Oh yea I never received my salad. I live down street from this place and I have never had any issues. The owner is usually taking orders and took 15 minutes to take our order as well as to receive the check. There were a group of girls and she gave them free food and attending to their table quite frequently while we were not receiving the same service. I live about 3 blocks from this restaurant and I love sushi, so I had to try it. It's in a little strip mall, and, aside from their permanent "grand opening" sign, it's pretty hard to find it tucked in the corner. I had hoped that the sushi would be tolerable, so that I could eat there when I was in desperate need for a quick sushi fix between planned outings to some of my favorite sushi places. I was there on opening day, and I have been back there just about every week since. The sushi is awesome - better than any I've ever had at a place this small. I normally don't eat rolls, but the red dragon roll is excellent. I'm more for the Sake, Hamachi, Hirame nigiri, and my mouth is watering just writing about it. The presentation is great, they really take care of my kids when I bring them (micky mouse shaped orange for dessert). The service is great too, but if you're ordering out, add about 20 minutes to their estimate as to when you food will be ready. The place is tiny, but there's usually a table or two open. Please try these guys out, I don't want there to be any chance that they don't succeed. I rarely go anywhere else for sushi. read more

Sushi E! Is a family run restaurant. We eat there at least once per week. The chef, tastes all of his fish before ever serving it to his customers, and we have seen him take fish that other sushi restaurants would serve and turn it away. They have treated my children wonderfully, and there are weeks where I have outstanding orders for my children's lunches. They have always been polite and warm to us. read more
