Yellow tail

The food was underwhelming, the chicken wings had a good crunch to it. The flavor was good. The chicken wings gets the one star that I'm giving. The yellow tail was decent. Ordered the Langostino overcooked crawfish and the mushrooms just gave it a terrible taste. Pick them off definitely not worth $30 maybe $17. The servers were basic. And I ordered a crazy Danny roll. It was supposed to have spicy tuna inside instead there was imitation crab meat return that. No apologies no accommodations really was basic. The only reason why I went to this location is because I used to go to sushi. Then when they were on Crescent Heights and sunset, definitely not the same. I'm ambience was cool.

Excellent food and service! Baked salmon roll, veggie tempura, baked scallop roll, and crispy lobster dynamite.

Enjoy coming here when I'm in Studio City. Quick, great staff, and just a fun, casual vibe. Food is great and I always leave full.

Cute little sushi joint in the little strip mall off Ventura Boulevard. I was meeting some friends at residuals Tavern after and this was a great pitstop to get some fresh sushi. Cute neon lights and decor. Service was excellent. Very friendly and speedy. I had a seaweed salad and a nice hot sake. Then I got the spicy tuna cut roll with easy rice and it was perfect. Very fresh tasting sushi. I forgot to get pictures before I gobbled down half of it. Lol. Happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 7. A lot of items on that happy hour menu with really good prices. Will be back!

My TWICE a week lunch special spot! Lovely staff who appreciate my repeat business and love for their restaurant! I usually order the 3 item bento box (chicken teriyaki, mixed tempura and spicy scallop hand roll). If you aren't a fan of rice, you can ask for DOUBLE salad and the dressing is divine! Usually runs around $23 for 3 items and $20 for 2!

This is one of my sons favorite sushi places and so is mine too. The sushi and sashimi is always fresh their quality is amazing. Even though is far away from me l don't mind driving 40 minutes to get there and enjoy my favorite sushi spot. Their service is also amazing and the place is clean.

Sushi Dan is one of my go-to places for sushi when I'm near work. Their fish is always fresh and they have excellent lunch specials. I love getting an assortment of fresh nigiri rolls (their salmon is exceptional) and the Bon Bon roll as a treat. The Hot Night 2 is also tasty. My friend ordered the sashimi and tuna tartare. She loved both. The staff is extremely friendly and speedy. They're very knowledgeable about the dishes and helpful with recommendations. It's also really cute inside! It'd be a great place for date night.

Bento lunch box! So much food and everything was great! Rice, salad, soup, 3 piece sashimi, 3 piece sushi and roll!? Best albacore sushi I have ever had, may even beat the yellowtail!

Spicy Garlic Edamame, Salmon Sushi, Blue Fin Tuna Sushi, crispy rice spicy tuna, M19. Garlic Hamachi Sashimi

Everything was delicious! Great quality fish, fresh, and good flavors. Service was also quick.

Okay sushi. Overpriced food. Good variety of food, but I wish it had more options for the price of the food served here.

I was taken to Sushi Tomoki for dinner, and since it was both of our first time there, we did what…read moreany responsible first-timers would do: ordered a little too much and called it research. We started with a few things to share, including edamame and shishito peppers, then moved into sashimi and several of their popular rolls. The fish tasted fresh, and I liked that even the more dressed-up rolls still let the fish come through (which isn't often the case). Then we got to the Albacore Fried Onion Roll. Spicy tuna inside, albacore and avocado on top, fried onion, garlic sauce, chili oil. We liked it enough that after finishing the first order, we ordered two more. At that point, subtlety had left the building. The sashimi was another highlight. We had a nice mix of fish, some served simply and others with little touches like citrus or seasoning that gave each piece its own character without overdoing it. We also tried a few of the other specialty rolls, which made this a fun dinner if you like ordering broadly and sharing. There was enough variety that nothing felt repetitive, even after we had clearly committed ourselves to a fairly ambitious amount of sushi. The restaurant itself is relaxed and unfussy, with a neighborhood sushi-bar feel that works well for dinner. Recent reviews mention that it can get busy during peak hours, and after eating there, I can see why reservations are a good idea. For a first visit, this was a very good one. I'd happily come back, although next time we may save everyone some time and order the Albacore Fried Onion Roll in multiples from the beginning.

Located on Ventura Boulevard, Sushi Tomoki is a small, intimate sushi restaurant with a clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic and a relaxed atmosphere that lets the food take center stage. (The Infatuation) Since we were dining with our 22-month-old, we requested a table instead of sitting at the sushi bar, and the staff was very accommodating. They even prepared a customized tamago sushi roll for our little one, which he absolutely enjoyed. The omakase was thoughtfully paced, with each piece served one at a time so we could fully appreciate every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, and every piece practically melted in our mouths. The attention to detail and quality of the ingredients really stood out. The only piece that wasn't my favorite was the sushi topped with mint. It simply wasn't my personal preference, though I'm sure those who enjoy mint with savory dishes would appreciate it. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. They made my sister's birthday even more special by singing Happy Birthday and surprising her with complimentary sherbet and four pieces of green tea mochi--a thoughtful touch that ended the evening on a high note. Overall, Sushi Tomoki delivered a memorable omakase experience with outstanding sushi, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

The difference from other menus like "The Nozawa Trust Me" is the selection of fish, which is determined by the chefs. I think this was the order/set I got: (1) Edamame (2) Tuna Sashimi w/ ponzu and chives (3) Toro Handroll (4) Tuna, Salmon Kombu, & Japanese Yellowtail Nigiri (5) Tuna, Sweet Shrimp, & New Zealand Sea Bream Nigiri (6) Lobster Handroll (7) Unagi Nigiri The cuts of fish are generally larger than standard, though there is also more rice with the nigiri. The rice vinegar is also noticeable in the rice, though it worked very well. I usually do not like shrimp nigiri, but the lemon and yuzu krudo elevates it to have a nice and refreshing taste. I really enjoyed it! I like "The Nozawa Trust Me" menu (girlfriend got it) better because the sashimi mixed both fatty and regular tuna. I also like the citrus salt New Zealand Sea Bream much better over the yubiki style Sea Bream. I think the most surprising thing was how good the lobster handrail was. I would definitely come again!

It's not the exact restaurant experience but the fish was very fresh and the box presentation was really nice. I love the rice - it is lightly packed and delicious - it even arrived fairly warm (one difference between restaurant and delivery - rice is not hot). So many places have what I call heavy rice - densely packed and cold. You choose from a set box but you can make some substitutions if they have the fish available. When we want sushi delivery, this will be our go to.

5* Food 4* Service 4*…read moreAmbiance Since my review from 5 years ago, I have returned over a dozen times and still find the food to be consistently excellent. Whether it is the sashimi's, sushi, and rolls, quality and quantity has remained top notch and it is my neighborhood 'go-to' sushi. The menu is always improving and I feel customer favorites are kept and new items enhance our gastronomy experience. A few new favorites are albacore sashimi with kogashi butter soy, tuna carpaccio, O-Toro sushi, seared salmon with truffle oil sushi, spicy miso seabass handroll, citrus roll, garlic albacore roll, and yellotail cilantro roll. Service is still rough around the edges, especially with reservations and seating, however, the service team is knowledgeable adding to the overall experience with good recommendations. Two or three years ago, they changed the wall murals, which I miss. The elegant blue and red fishes on the walls were beautiful.

For these prices, I expected much better quality and flavor. Nothing about the taste justified the bill. The sushi felt very Americanized rather than authentic, which isn't what I'm looking for, especially at this price point. There are plenty of better sushi spots that deliver more satisfying food and better value. This one just wasn't worth it for me. I guess I'm a bit biased having just came back from Japan but 40$ for a piece of thin Wagyu sushi is totally insane

What he apparently did not notice during this research phase was one fairly major detail: the entire restaurant is vegan. Once he realized it, there was a definite moment of hesitation. I was more in the camp of, "Well, you brought us here. We're committed now." Thankfully, his accidental vegan ramen selection turned out to be a very good one. The space is compact and dimly lit, with dark walls, simple wood tables, and a warm glow throughout. It was packed when we went, which gave the room a lively energy, but it still felt cozy rather than chaotic. Once the bowls arrived, any skepticism disappeared pretty quickly. The broth was much richer and more flavorful than either of us expected, with that creamy, savory quality you want from a comforting bowl of ramen. We both finished ours. I had the No. 9 Truffle Salt Ramen and added fried dumplings to mine. The dumplings gave the bowl a nice crispy contrast, and the truffle flavor came through without overpowering everything else. The funniest part is that neither of us walked in specifically looking for vegan ramen. We just wanted a good bowl of ramen, and that's exactly what we got. Parking is available in the shared plaza lot, but keep in mind those spaces are shared with the neighboring businesses. Street parking is another option if the lot is full. My friend may not have realized he was taking us for vegan ramen, but I'm giving him full credit for the accidental discovery.

Stopped by for a late dinner after seeing some good reviews in Studio City…read more The staff was friendly, and the ambiance was unique, with a darker, bar-style atmosphere. The space was clean and pleasant overall, although the dim lighting and location at the end of the plaza made it a little difficult to find My biggest issue is that I really wish the restaurant made it much clearer that this is an entirely vegan ramen spot. My friend and I were looking for traditional ramen, ideally tonkotsu, so this was definitely not what we had in mind. Given how different vegan ramen can be from traditional ramen, I think this is something that should be clearly stated before customers order to help set the right expectations The broth was flavorful to some extent, but compared with traditional ramen, it tasted quite bland to me, especially since I had recently returned from Japan. I understand that vegan ramen has its own approach, but the overall flavor profile just wasn't what I was looking for We also tried the yuzu Coke and Sprite, which were a bit unusual for us. At $6 each, with no refills, the price felt steep for what seemed to be standard Coca-Cola products with a yuzu name twist only I can see this place being a great option for vegans and vegetarians looking for a plant-based ramen experience. The service was good, and the bar-style setting gave the restaurant a distinctive atmosphere. However, I really think they should be more upfront about the fact that the ramen is vegan, as this would help avoid confusion and disappointment for diners expecting traditional ramen Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, but the menu and pricing didn't quite meet our expectations
